St. Michael’s Catholic School

If you come in expecting to receive academics and activities on par with other local Catholic k-​8 schools, you will be sorely disappointed. The blended classrooms (3^rd, 4^th, 5^th,) and (6^th, 7^th, 8^th) do not provide adequate, grade-​level appropriate instruction. Too much of the work is blended between the grades. Academic areas considered standard in public and private schools, like STEAM, are an after thought, instead of a main focus. With the small number of students (close to 100), St. Michael’s should be able to offer more, not less, especially since their tuition rates, even with a sliding scale, are the same as the other larger Catholic schools in Snohomish County that offer twice as much. There are no middle school electives, no CYO, no traditional PE class, no traditional music or art classes. This school needs a lot more before it can charge the tuition it does in comparison to what is offers academically.

A fantastic community. Strong academics, caring teachers, supportive parents and community. Kids are not only taught to love learning, but to care for one another as well. Tuition is on a sliding scale and is very reasonable. Accredited by the WCEA, Mike’s is a feeder school for Archbishop Murphy HS. I have a 6^th grader, 4^th grader, and preschooler currently enrolled and all three are happy, challenged appropriately, and doing great.

My son goes here and has had such a great experience. The teacher — student ratios are very low. This allows the students to grow as individuals and be successful. There is great structure and uniforms allow each student to blend in as equals. The is a huge playground and field for outdoor activities. The school work is perfect for their age/​development. There is not a lot of homework. The tests and projects reflect the studied material. The principle, Dr Mathews, is very very kind and sweet. Tuition is very affordable and negotiable. Great morals and values are taught here. They are peace builders. Highly recommended!!! Before care opens at 7am and after care runs until 6pm
