Absolutely shocked they are closed. Was just there in early October and all was still beautiful and they were busy! I had 2 arrangements made by them in the spring that were gorgeous. Actually, as I was walking out with my large shallow frog planter I was stopped twice by people admiring it and wondering if they had more. Please let us know where you are now! Such sad news you are closed up.

I love this cute place! I was walking to the train and decided to take a look since I had time. The lady that was there was so nice and just let me walk around and look at all their beautiful creations! Great place to pick up something for yourself or a gift!

This review is for the way the sales people handled the transaction. I came in asking for a $ 25 planted gift so they agreed to make one up for me that would he around $ 30 – 35 which i said ok to. Well i left with a $ 45 gift that was not agreed upon. I would have walked away from the entire transaction but needed the gift and didn’t have a lot of time to argue with them. She should have done the right thing and made up the plant at the agreed upon price but since she didn’t here’s her crappy review!

Very nice succulent bowls. I was very impressed my first visit and tried to order 8 for an upcoming event. The gal (not the owner) was a bit haughty and would get back to me with a price. Never did. So, I went back a week later and eagerly asked gal #2 if she was the owner (who is the only one who can price custom orders). No luck. Took my info and order, promised to call… another week, no call. Ordered them elsewhere.
But… the funniest thing was one incident. I had taken an empty bowl down and set it on the outdoor patio table, thinking I would use it for my order. As I looked it over, gal #2 rushed over and removed it… «This table is very delicate and scratches very easily!» Oh, sorry, didn’t even realize it was for sale… felt very bad until… next customer comes in wanting to buy the table. Gal #2 goes ON and ON about the practicality and durability of the table! Oh, my.
Great little shop for a tourist stop. Very cute stuff. But head over a few shops to the real garden store and pottery store on either side if you want to make a real purchase.

This store has the cutest displays of succulents and gifts and you are sure to find something that you have to own for yourself. They also have design services for container gardening if you need something custom ordered. Chicweed is a place that you must make as a destination if you are in Solana Beach, CA

They have a small selection of amazing succulents and tillandsia (air plants) as well as outdoor décor. I bought a few beautiful tillandsia and a really cool grafted cactus. You can tell everything is hand selected to be really good quality. I love this place!

Love this beautiful patio and garden store! I’ve been shopping here for years and love their mix of vintage containers planted with succulents! I have many that still look great 5 years later and I never even water them! Really nice people that own this business. Very cute things for your patio… outdoor rugs, cushions. etc! This is beautiful place for so many reasons. The owner is personable and informative. All her creations were amazing and I bought something for house warming gift. The price was right too! This will be another stable for me to stop off at when I’m in San Diego.

I went to this shop based on another Unilocaler’s rating and am so happy I did. I was looking for a thank you gift for a friend that loves succulents. Everything I saw I wanted for myself. I bought him a great mid-​size arrangement that I debated keeping the whole way home. I knew then I got the perfect gift. I bought a second smaller arrangement for another friend, but my boyfriend ended up wanting it for his desk, that’s how appealing their plants are.
The mid-​size plant was about $ 42, but well worth the price. It came in a unusual terracota bowl and is beyond my ability to ever replicate. The small plant was under $ 20 and makes a perfect little any time kind of gift. There was a range of prices for their plants, you can spend under $ 20 to over $ 80.
I’m definitely going back again and buying for myself. :)

This cute outdoor shop on the busiest street in Solana Beach is such a shop of treasures. They have the cutest succulent arrangements.
I work on South Cedros, and this is the store I visit the most. Our house is filled with succulent arrangements from Chicweed. Sure, they are not the cheapest in town, but they are worth paying the extra.
I have scoured a lot of nurseries for succulents, but only at Chicweed will you find unique arrangements.
People who visit our house always ask me where I buy my succulents from. :)
Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.
