I highly recommend Dr. Cole. He is a rare find as he is the first psychiatrist I’ve ever gone to who actually takes the time to get to know you. Other psychiatrists spend 15 minutes and only treat the diagnosis with little time to talk. Dr. Cole treats the person. I love my conversations with him. I think he’s charming, witty and brilliant. His expertise in prescribing medications is right on target. I’ve been seeing him for several years and he has helped me tremendously. Oh, and one more thing, his office is a delight with wonderful art, great coffee and very comfortable furniture.

Dr. Cole treated(and cured) a close family member of mine from depression and pretty severe anxiety disorder about two years ago, so I knew what to expect when I came to him several weeks ago. He does have an usual style(to put it mildly) and if you are looking for a neat office, or a business-like atmosphere when you see your psychiatrist, than he is probably not for you. Yes, the place is a mess, and yes — he will serve you espresso, and possibly even suggest marrying Jewish women. But all this entirely beside the point. His informal style is actually a way to know the patient better, as in my view he represents a kind of a rare psychiatrist who really gets to know his patient to the core, and only then assign medications. He has a high emotional intelligence, is a mensch, and quite brilliant in what he does. I would definitely recommend him, especially to people who are not looking for an instant, pay-as-you-go experience, but a real, healing process.

Dr. Cole is the most unprofessional doctor I have met in the last 25 years. In an introductory phone call that lasted 90 minutes, Dr. Cole offered to find for me Jewish women as I am unmarried. I am Jewish, too. Dr. Cole wanted me as his patient. He mentioned that he had financial concerns. We met for an hour and a half. He promised me he would send me a requisition for a medical test. I waited a week, and he failed to send it to me. The Doctor failed to help me. If you like a messy office, then this Doctor is for you. p. s. It is unethical for a Doctor to promise to find girlfriends for a potential patient.

Incredibly unprofessional. Referred from list from insurers, my first call was odd– over a half hour of his conversing on many tangents. But I critically needed Rx for depression, and he had an opening the following business day, seemed a simple thing. He was 20 minutes late, was odd from first greeting. Proceeded to ramble in unrelated conversation, eat, make espreso, interrupt session for multiple phone calls and text messages. I suggested rescheduling to a time when I could have his attention, he insisted it was not necessary. Went on to take the next call within minutes. I left session and insisted that there not be a billing, Office as disheveled as he was. A patient was in the waiting room the whole time, I asked him on leaving if the MD was always that distracted: he rolled his eyes and nodded his head yes vigorously. Think twice.
