I ordered a Doubletree Angus Burger with Cabot white cheddar cheese. Cabot is a local dairy/creamery. The cheese is incredibly flavorful, it’s like an explosion of deliciousness in each bite. I ordered a side of potato straws which, back in Texas, we call Shoestring fries. I enjoyed a local beer, Switchback Ale. 5.0% ABV and 28 IBUs. Nice balance of hops and malt. The bartender was Alex and he was very friendly and offered advice on local things to do and see. I’ll be back!

During a 3-week working vacation here in Burlington, my husband and I decided to give Trader Duke’s a try since it is down the road from our hotel. The restaurant is located at the Double Tree. We went in around 5:00 and sat at the bar. There was one other guy at the bar, and no one in the restaurant that we could see. The place was very nice, great décor, clean. Music was barely audible. A couple of muted TVs. They only had 3 beers on tap, but Switchback happened to be one of them, so we were okay in that department. I ordered French Onion Soup, and hubby ordered chili. We were both very happy. We also split a southwest-type quesadilla which had corn salsa, black beans, etc., and came with a generous helping of guac, sour cream and salsa. It also was very good. Service was good, prices were very reasonable. Overall, a very nice place. A little on the quiet side for us, but it was convenient, and we didn’t feel like going downtown.

Not sure why this has bad reviews. Great place to eat especially when staying at the doubletree. Service was great especially bartender Susanne. She was awesome all night. Food was very good and no reason to complain. Reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant. I would recommend this place for sure. Had the French onion soup which was great and a spinach and walnut salad with chicken and the dressing had a local flavor to it. You will not be disappointed if you like the low key atmosphere. Not your typical hotel restaurant.

Nice restaurant! Attached to Hilton Double Tree, very nice staff and food good for weary traveler. Has bar too.

The only reason I gave this place one star is because I had to in order to write this review. Walking in this place I should have known and turned around. Everything is out dated in a big way. Including the food. We walked up to the brunch buffet and there was food all over the table. Also they had beef stew that looked like it was from a can? Why beef stew at a breakfast Buffet? The only thing I can say was okay, was the omelet bar, without that this place would be a goner. So basically just drive past Trader Dukes and go to Mcdonalds for breakfast.

What happened to Sunday Brunch? This used to be a wonderful place for Sunday Brunch/Omelet Bar. We tried them one time recently for dinner, and were disappointed. The manager did give us a free meal, but we most likely will not use it. Since that incident we have gone back twice for brunch only: The Omelet Bar is still excellent, but the buffet items were not hot, not covered, and very disappointing, We tried again, the following Sunday, with guests, and discovered the barely-warm food appears to be the norm. Our waitress was not attentive, and despite asking for extra cream immediately after being served our coffee, no cream ever appeared. If you want an omelet, the omelet will not disappoint. But if you go to the buffet for a side of homefries or breakfast meats, they are guaranteed to be only slightly warmer than room temp. We won’t be back.

In town for a night. Stayed at the hotel connected so came in for a beer. Was about 330 in the afternoon and we’re essentially the only people in there. Got a beer and bartender told us to let her know if we wanted another and then went directly into the kitchen and didn’t see her for 20 min. Rather boring bar but when it comes down to it, it does the trick

Update. Had breakfast here this morning. Great food and service! Perhaps it’s just the dinner servers that are the issue. Prompt, hot food. Waitress didn’t ignore me and the coffee was good. Still don’t recommend at dinner though.

So this location is connected to the double tree hotel. If you are a gold or diamond member you get the breakfast free and I must say it is pretty darn good. I’ve never heard of this place before. I ordered the pancake, bacon, and veggies aha with potatoes. Tasted very well. If I’m ever back in this area of Vermont I will definitely stay at this hotel, just so I can eat breakfast at this location.

Giving 1 star for the reason only that the food was decent. As far as service goes, there wasn’t any. Our ‘waitress’ was waiting 3 tables as well as running room service as this is a hotel restaurant. Also lunch menu literally had 6 things to choose from other than salads. No soups, no wraps, not much to choose from. A male manager was running around checking on things but never once set foot in the dining room. Not once. The bar had no bartender available. This place needs serious employment and management help. Double Tree should be ashamed to have this restaurant in their hotel! Don’t waste your time and more importantly money.

Foods not bad for a diner but they sure are slow! Went there twice since it’s connected to our hotel and both times we were starving!

I stay at the hotel once in a while. The restaurant is okay but it’s nothing great typical hotel food. The breakfast is pretty good better than a lot of hotels ordered the soup one time and it came out cold had to send back twice to be warmed up.

Wow! Aside from the food being just awful we had 75% failure rate of getting orders right for a party of 8. Almost everyone had wrong sides, missing ingredients, missing drinks. Place was nearly empty. 3 servers. Epic fail!

Trader Duke’s was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was upscale and comfortable, the food was very good! Our server was a regular comedian. The restaurant is part of Double Tree Motel, so the atmosphere was friendly, a little loud and everyone knew each other.

Ugh had a late breakfast with my husband at this restaurant that has been around for years… the potatoes that came with his hash and eggs were greasy and looked like they had been kicking around for days, the hash was from a can, the once over easy eggs were hard cooked. I knew better than order anything with potatoes, I had pancakes and eggs. My once over easy were cooked hard, the pancakes had a faint taste of onions and rancid oil, do they ever clean their cooking surface? I guess the coffee was alright … Our server was a delightful young woman, I give them a star for having wonderful congenial people working in the restaurant.

I ate here several times while I stayed in the hotel. The quality of the meals was so so, but it is a hotel restaurant so you can never expect too much. Day 1: Had a few minutes between check in and a work event so I scarfed down a mini pizza. It was okay, but on par with a frozen pizza. I ate at the bar and the bartender was hilarious. He chatted with me a bit since I was alone. Day 2: Free breakfast time! MMMMM. This was FANTASTIC. I had the eggs benne with the fruit cup and I LOVED it. The waitress was awesome as well. Day 3: Woke up at 4 am so I couldn’t enjoy the free breakfast. That night I ordered some take out from the restaurant because I was exhausted. They had a pre fixe menu with a soup, meal and desert. The soup was cream of squash and it was fabulous. The meal was a chicken alfredo. it was meh and the chicken was barely cooked so it freaked me out… the pie was orgasmic. I wish I didn’t get it because I couldn’t stop eating until I finished the slice. So much for just a taste. Day 4: Tried the healthy french toast, it was ehhh… but then again its healthy french toast. I could tell that the unhealthy french toast would have been awesome. Day 5: My wonderful boy drove up to VT to see me so we both took advantage of the free breakfast. He ordered a meat filled omelet that he was very happy with. I tried the eggs benne again. They accidentally included the home fries even though I subbed the fruit so I got both. The home fries were some of the best I’ve had — sliced potatoes instead of cubed. MMMM. My eggs were overcooked and the english muffin was undercooked but it was still free eggs benne… Day 6: Fruit plate and scrambled egg whites to help take the edge off of all the amazing food I ate this weekend. Delish and healthy. Every single day the staff was amazing. Overall… great free breakfasts but I wouldn’t eat here if it wasn’t on the hotel.

For breakfast only. Eggs etc were good. I had oatmeal. Asked for fixings and waitress was great bringing out a bunch of small cups with walnuts, cashews brown sugar, fresh strawberries. Then we never saw her again. Coffee was marginal. Looks like a decent buffet breakfast too.

My family had breakfast here. It was not cheap, but it was good. So there. Really good blueberry pancakes, double order $ 9.75. Damn well better be good. Coffee $ 2.25. You get the idea. Basically, if you’re staying at the Doubletree and don’t feel like going out and about for breakfast — this is it.
