We decided to spend my 60th birthday with family and friends in South Lake Tahoe and we thought it would be much more fun and relaxing to have dinner at the house rather then go out to a crowded restaurant. After a lot of research, we chose Chef Mary. Mary was open to all our suggestions for dishes and created a custom menu that was perfect for our group of 13. The day of the event she arrived with her assistant and everything she needed. The evening went off without a hitch and every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. She took care of every detail including setting the table and leaving the kitchen spotless. Not only is Mary a fabulous chef, but she is also professional and personable. A real joy to work with. We will be calling Mary again the next time we visit Tahoe.

AMAZING food. She catered my mom’s 60th birthday and she brought flowers and a balloon! She and the person with her were incredibly nice and the food was INCREDIBLE. Plus, they did the dishes and the kitchen was spotless at the end of the night — none of our guests(or hosts) had to do a thing. Highly recommend her!

We contacted Mary to provide food for our wedding reception at our home. She visited us well before to review food choices and look at the kitchen. She was very professional and well organized and gave us pricing for various choices. We had chosen a fresh fish course and short ribs among apps and vegetable course. She called two days before as she wasn’t satisfied with the fresh flown in fish and we substituted another fish. While we were up at Incline Village getting married she showed up with her two helpers and worked away. We had 30+ people for the reception, tables of appetizers laid out and then had a superb dinner. Everything went great and the price was very affordable having considered other options. Well done! We were very satisfied and our guests were impressed.

Mary was an all-day personal chef for my bachelor party of 15 guys last weekend at a rented house in South Lake Tahoe. She was great. She showed up at 9am Saturday morning with her world famous egg casserole hot from the oven. Using groceries we had purchased(our choice) she cut fruit, made toast, and laid out a delicious breakfast. Then she cleaned everything up and made us cold-cut sandwiches wrapped to go and placed in a cooler for boating. You know how sandwiches are always better when someone else makes them? Well they’re even better when Mary makes them! Well made sandwiches with all the fixings. Mary returned in the late afternoon to make our BBQ feast. Her marinated tri-tip and chicken were excellent. Plus corn on the cob, vegetables, potatoes, salad, and more. It was all topped off with her peach cobbler. So good! Mary also brought an assistant on her own dime(we tipped her well) and left me a nice congratulatory card. Plus her pricing is very fair. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of working with Chef Mary and her daughter when celebrating my boyfriend’s 30th birthday at South Lake Tahoe on July 4th weekend, 2013. Chef Mary prepared a delicious Mexican-inspired feast for 20 people. For our appetizers, she made inventive guacamole and a salsa trio, each kind presented in a real pineapple(our favorite was the mango and pineapple salsa — amazing!). She also crafted a beautiful display of gazpacho shooters with a skewered pepper in each one, and showcased the menu in a lovely frame for all of our guests to see. She baked beef tacos filled with jack and sharp cheddar, chicken verde enchiladas, and a finished it all off with some lovely tequila lime tarts. We loved the interactivity and informality of the taco bar she assembled for us. I worked with an excellent personal chef for a party like this once before, but Chef Mary exceeded all of our expectations. She was polite, clear, and prompt in her communications prior to the event. She was very professional and organized on the day of the event and her presentation was excellent — not to mention how great the cooking was! She took photos for us with all of our friends and even left a sweet card from she and her daughter. Mary was so well prepared that once she set up her work stations, she would have been ready with dinner made before we were ready to eat. Rather than rush us along or serve dinner cold, Chef Mary took this extra time to go purchase flowers to act as an extra centerpiece. I was so relieved that, after a weekend of planning activities and coordinating meals for 20 people, Chef Mary could come steal the show on our final night together. I didn’t have to worry about anything — she and her daughter even cleaned up and packed away the leftovers. I would hire Chef Mary again in a heartbeat and I recommend her to anyone.

Chef Mary made our family vacation so yummy and stress-free. While we enjoyed the day on the lake, Chef Mary prepped an incredible menu that included appetizer platters, main course plus sides and salad and an incredible seasonal peach dessert. Thanks for making. We even took the salad recipe home! A great indulgence when entertaining while vacationing!

Tahoe Flavor made our Lake Tahoe week a fabulous celebration of our parents’ 80th and 85th birthdays. Chef Mary proposed a delicious menu and everything was absolutely fresh, fantastically delicious, and beautiful. Besides being a wonderful chef, Chef Mary was delightful company and really went out of her way to accommodate our quirks. We can’t recommend her services highly enough!
