Food has gone downhill ! I should stop with the delivery service… The orders usually wrong or the pizza is cold. I have to put the pizza in my oven to get it a bit crunchier and Warmer

Greasy soggy pizza. Took well over 1hr for delivery and arrived cold, missing 1 topping. Will NEVER order for here again! Very disappointing.

Not from around here, I live in Ventura county… and decided to try a new spot while in town for the swap meet. My goodness! I’m glad we did! This was hands down the best New York style pizza I’ve ever had! They have a great assortment, and great prices! I will be eating here again!

I was debating between 3 star or 4 star because each time I go for a single slice is different. Today I had the mushroom slice and maybe because it’s been sitting out for awhile, it just didn’t taste good. It was dry and flavorless. But there has been times when the pizza is fresh out of the oven and that was delicious. I ended up going for the 4 star because of the friendly customer service. My advice is, if getting the single slice, go for the ones that hasn’t been sitting out. Parking in the lot behind the shop. Just a note, during traffic hours, it is very hard to make a left turn out of the parking lot.

Highly disappointed, Was Treated poorly after being an over two year regular delivery customer. Generally I order the same food items with no special request. Extra large pizza and chicken pasta dinners. I placed an order for delivery last weekend after a super busy week … I just wanted to stay home rest with the family. We waited almost two hour … Generally delivery is about 45min sometime even less. I called to inquire about my order, they claim that I asked for a late delivery… which I did not. They did not even have my order ready. I asked to speak to a manager spoke with someone named Daniel who claimed to be a manager his voice tone and attitude of our long time patronage was of no importance to him. Feeling like unappreciated customer, I asked to cancel my order and kindly let know him will no longer be a Mamma pizza customer’s. Too bad it was one of my favorite food places. :-(

The food was good but the online order process is pointless when you place a order for a specific time and get there to pick it up and they haven’t even started to cook the order .then say it’s an issue with the website .but the website has no issue getting my credit card info.

This review is part food, part food allergy rant(be warned). Went here after spending the day at the Huntington Gardens. I informed the wait staff that I am allergic to garlic and asked if the margarita pie had garlic(normally margarita does not have garlic or a minimal amount in sauce). I was answered with, «I don’t know» and then person working there read the ingredients and said, «No. No garlic.» Because I have food allergies and sometimes can’t tell if food has it in it or not, I have to rely on wait staff to KNOW how their food is prepared and know their ingredients. I only ate the crust on this pie but I got garlic’d just the same. My stomach blew up, I felt like shit, and honestly, the pizza was not even that tasty as my friend, who is not allergic to garlic, was like, «Not impressed.» Also, the soda machine had hardly any carbonation, so after 2 attempts at getting a Coke and having next to no fizz, I switched to iced tea. I am not saying it is the worst pizza I have ever had because it is not, the pizza was OK. However, if you work in a restaurant, PLEASE know your ingredients or if you don’t ASK! This place is marked gluten free, so my guess is they have some kind of knowledge of food sensitivities, but when there should only be cheese, sauce, olive oil and crust, somehow I am assuming the culprit was the olive oil infused with… wait for it… GARLIC! Food allergies are not a joke and we are not telling you about our allergy to be high maintenance, we will get SICK and sometimes need to go to a hospital or worse based on your neglect. Rant over, resume pizza eating now.

Love their pizza! They have a large variety of pizza to choose from. A slice of pizza ranges from $ 2 to $ 4, and it’s a big slice. I will be full with 1 slice, and I could not finish my slice at times! It is a small restaurant and it shares the same parking lot with other business. *side story: I saw a guy peed on the wall at the back of this business. I am guessing that it was a random person who does not work here because I saw him walking away after he peed. This incident just disgusted me, especially right after I parked… I hope management can be mindful about random male using the wall at the back as public restroom.

I have been eating here for years and they never disappointed! Today I felt inspired to write due to their superb customer service. We always cater from them for our parties and this time they were great in advising what would be the greatest options for our sized party. They were right on time with delivery and the delivery person was very helpful as well! If you ever go, you just get the garlic knots! A personal favorite!

Fist time ordering from here. I wasn’t sure they delivered to my area, but when I called James said I was right on the border, but yes they do! I said I’d call back to place order. He said if he didn’t answer to let the person I speak to know that he said I was in the delivery range. Food was great! I ordered a gluten free ½ cheese ½ chicken and olive pizza and the rest of the family ordered a tasty buffalo chicken sandwich and cheese manicotti. My nephew said the manicotti was great! Usually delivery orders are cold, but not Mamma’s. Still warm upon arrival. I haven’t ordered pizza delivery since Bella’s in Pasadena closed, but I know Mamma’s is going to be coming to my house a lot now.

This place is one of the best spots for Pizza in Los Angeles. By-the-slice option is rare in LA, and they do it great, with so many options. Therms even throw in a free drink during their weekday lunch special! Check it out.

Pizza is good, but customer service is lousy when placing an order for delivery on the phone. Every time we order, we are always placed on hold for an unreasonable amount of time. The place definitely needs to make efforts in order to meet the needs of customers in a timely manner.

This is my first time at Mama’s Brick Oven in South Pasadena but I have been to other Mama’s Brick oven in Pasadena is bigger than the one in South Pasadena. I really like Mama’s because everything is made from scratch daily and they very selective variety of slice pizza. At this Mama’s Brick Oven always busy on Friday night but the smell of the pizza is so aromatic and see employees making their pizza is priceless. I order two slices of their white pizza this is my first time but try their Margherita pizza it so good. First bite of the white pizza wow great flavors poping in my mouth with so much flavors. The blend of the sun dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh garlic and extra virgin olive oil, the one ingredient got me hooked to the white pizza is the sweet ricotta it didn’t overpowering the pizza it just combine all the ingredients into this great pizza.

Best pizza place in the neighborhood! Fresh New York style pizza! I am so hooked! We have just moved and low and behold, we received a free large pizza coupon in the mail. What a nice surprise! Talk about welcoming us into the neighborhood. So of course my inner Unilocal instinct… I quickly Unilocaled the place and was relieved that it had alto of great reviews. So I quickly grabbed my family and off we go to redeem our free large pizza. Place is located on a busy street but there is a parking lot in the back but make sure not to park in the AT&T parking spots. Once inside, I was amazed by the décor. Seating area is a bit cramped and most people were ordering for pick up. We ordered our pizza to go as well. We ordered a large half Manhattan meat lovers and half everything pizza. OMG! One bite of the pizza and I was in pizza heaven. Seriously, it tasted like I was in New York. That’s how authentic it is. Service was great and the person behind the counter was extremely helpful since it was our first time here. He helped us decide what pizza was the most popular so we went with his judgment. Glad we did because my taste buds were happy. Overall definitely coming back. I want to try the garlic knots! Till next time… thank you Mama’s Brick Oven pizza for the free coupon.

So I had a craving for pizza like you wouldn’t believe. Like give me pizza NOW or imma drop some bodies. I didn’t want the usual chain pizza joint crap either. I wanted some good ass pizza. Actually no, I wanted Costco pizza. But I knew that by the time I drove to the closest one, found parking, and made my way to the front of the food line, there’d be a trail of bodies. So I Unilocaled and found Mamma’s. I parked in the wrong lot(Bristol Farms lot) and walked the few steps to Mamma’s. From the looks of it they do have their own parking in the back. The joint is TINY and pretty packed for a Sunday. I ordered 3 slices of the Roma(don’t you judge my appetite!!!) only to find out 2 seconds after I paid that it’s made with white sauce. Ugh. But I was hungry so whatevs. The chick heated them all up in the brick oven so the pizza was nice n warm with no sogginess and had a crunchy but chewy crust. Deeeeeee-lish! Got a side of marinara to make up for the white-sauce wackness but really didn’t need it, it was THAT yummy! New York style, not too cheesy or greasy. My only reason to knock it down to 4 stars is bc 3 slices and nothing else ran me 10 bucks. Meh, a bit pricy IMHO.

Very Affordable. Very mouthgasmic. Came here with some church friends after church 2 weeks ago. We ended up getting an X-LARGE pizza(half white, half Manhattan meatlovers) amongst the 3 of us aaaaaaaaandddddddddddd… realized we were being too greedy. 2 slices left over. LOL and boy was I stuffed. The place feels very homey/local pizza joint feel. Had a real good time here and enjoyed the meal very much!

Came here with group of 4. It was a long line on a friday night. One of my friends are gluten free so it works out great, to come here for pizza! He ordered the gluten free pizza and gluten free pasta. He said his dishes weren’t as good as other gluten free places. It was either very bland or way to saucy. 3 of us ordered the family style combo.(we thought we were very hungry) it’s very big portions! The pizza was delicious! One of my favorite pizzas now. Crust was doughy yet thin. Sauce and meat tastes like perfection. We had ordered a spaghetti and another pasta dish. I forgot what it was but it was red sauce as well with lots of cheese on it. That dish was Delish! Loved the pasta, we had so much left overs too! Love the garlic knots here as well! Everything was pretty good. Decent prices.

Over the past year, we have ordered Mama’s for delivery and they have been consistent. Tuesday night was pizza night. Ordered placed via phone and they said it would take 45 minutes or less for delivery. It took 45 minutes. Order: Buffalo Chicken Pizza-this was spicier than I expected, but Good. «The Everything Pizza”-Pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, olives: Good. Garlic Knots-Standard. Although the ingredients were good, the crust wasn’t crispy enough. In fact, I would describe it on the doughy, soft side. We had to use 2 hands to eat because the pizza was so soft. I’ve never eaten at their establishment, so maybe if its fresh out of the oven, its better. Final note: X-Large is 18» and they claim serves 4, but these are huge pizzas.

This is the best pizza place that I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I think it has to do with the fact that they use a real brick oven to bake their pizzas. There is something about baking a pizza in a brick oven that makes the pizza taste better than anything you can possibly imagine. They have every topping you can think of. They use the finest ingredients. I love their pepperoni pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and Roma pizza. They have to many pre-designed gourmet toppings you can choose from. They can also deliver to you within a 3-mile radius. This pizza place is very popular so I recommend that you order your pizza at least one hour ahead of time. You can also conveniently place an order over the phone with your credit card or cash on delivery. Seriously, Mamma’s has the best pizza ever!

My Family and I love Mommas. We are big fans of the Family Special. $ 28.99 for a large pizza(8 slices) a house salad one dozen of delicious garlic knots and not one but two pastas of your choice. The baked ziti and cheese manicotti are the best. It serves 4 – 6 people. its a great deal. Thank you mommas for making eating out affortable for a family of 5. ~v~

I was very wow-ed by the Pizza at Mamma’s Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta(«Mamma’s»). THEAMBIANCE: This is a small mom and pop pizza shop that sits on Fair Oaks Avenue. There is parking available and people park in the AT&T slots all the time and nothing happens(so I hear). You walk in and are greeted by friendly teenagers working the store, among others. But I noticed a lot of young employees so this might be the happening spot to work part-time while being a student or as a summer job. The employees handling the cash register have all been amazing with customer service. They have made sure that I was taken care of and I really appreciated it. Mamma’s is clean and has mainly indoor tables but a couple outdoors on their small patio. The pizzas hot out of the oven are displayed in a see-through glass case and you can also see the staff preparing and putting the pizzas into the brick oven. Pretty neat. THEPIZZA: Wow. I had not tasted authentic not-Dominos/Pizza Hut/Papa Johns pizza in a while and man was it good. You taste the difference immediately. I tried the lunch special, which is: purchase two(2) slices of pizza of your choice(cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, manhattan meat lovers, buffalo chicken, hawaiian, roma, margherita, brick oven, and white) and get a free fountain drink, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays. The pizza slices are generous and the flavor/dough is on point. Pizza slices range from $ 2.75 to $ 3.50. THEPASTA&GARLICKNOTS: I have also tried the baked ziti(penne pasta baked in tomato sauce with ricotta, parmigiano, and mozzarella, $ 8.49, available gluten free upon request for $ 2.50 extra) which came with a side salad and garlic knots. Both items were really good and I had leftovers. All pastas at Mamma’s come with a side salad and garlic knots. If you want to add chicken, meat sauce, cream sauce, or sun dried tomatoes, add $ 2.50. If you want to add meatballs or sausage, add $ 3.00. If you want to add shrimp, add $ 3.75. THETIPS: Come hungry and leave happy.

Sure, this is NY-style thin crust pizza, and it will fill that craving if you have it, but it’s more along the lines of 99-cent Jersey Shore pizza, rather than quality brick-oven-perfect John’s of Bleeker pizza. My husband says their sausage is better than Nonna’s(next door), but for me the proof is in the pudding. The dough, sauce, and cheese here just taste kind of cheap. This is not a terrible thing, nor is it really a detriment to the business. When you want a cheap slice of thin crust pizza from a slice shop, this place delivers(tee-hee). I think the slices are under $ 2, so this being the left coast, and slice shops being few and far between(compared to NY/NJ), I’d say just under $ 2 is about right for a ‘cheap slice’. Still, I think I’ll go to Nonna’s for my pizza on the reg, because their sauce is fantastic, their cheese is higher quality, and their crust is thinner and has better texture. But Mamma’s is also a good option in South Pasadena.

Great tasting pizza that I am now a fan of. My friend and I were headed to get a salad but nope, busted a right and we were at Mammas about to get some slices and a salad. My friend had another idea and ordered a large pizza, big garden Caesar Salad and some garlic knots. The salad was great, fresh and good. The meat lovers pizza was so delicious, came with a load of pepperoni, sausage and bacon pieces. Pizza crust was thin and flaky. The garlic knot sauce was out of a can in my view but it was okay. Would return in a heart beat to try a slice of their other pizza offerings. Plenty of parking. Has both inside and outside seating, only thing is I felt huge on their low seating chairs and low tables. Maybe it was me or the flooring. Try them out.

I just tried this for the first time the other night and thought the pizza was really good for the price. My fiancé and I are there; it’s a no frills type place but that night I just wanted to be out and this was fine. I chose a slice of the Margherita pizza and my fiancé ordered the veggie calzone. The pizza was really tasty; simple, with fresh basil and generous chunks of mozzarella. It also had some grease but wasn’t too greasy. The calzone was disappointing. It had some cheese, sauce, and was filled mostly with red and green bell pepper and olives. It lacked flavor. I enjoyed my first slice so much that I got another, and the second slice was almost double the size of the first so there is some inconsistency in the portions. I’d definitely come back for a slice of pizza(4 stars) but I can’t recommend the calzone.
