I was so excited to come to this place yesterday and try it out. I have been a big fan of the South City location. I know it’s pricy but worth it. BIG disappointment. The dishes are not like they used to be: palabok, lumpia, sotanghon, fresh lumpia, halohalo. What happened Goldilock’s?

I got dinuguan with rice and 6pieces of lumpia and a side of laing(taro leaves with coconut milk) $ 6.99 for the meal(drink not included) and laing by itself was $ 5.99. I give it to them, the laing was pretty good, but no one makes these dishes better than the moms. Homecook is better Lol. As for the dinuguan tho, i wasn’t really vibin with it. I ate it cause I was hungry! Lol but they gave me so much fat instead of meaat I mostly just ate more of the sauce with rice. I don’t even think the sauce was that flavorful. pretty bland. Aren’t these dishes suppose to be a hint spicy tho? Didn’t even get that kick.

Bought customized cake for a birthday party! they don’t even provide a candle! OMG Paid $ 45 for a cake and I dont even get a $ 1 candle??! and plus the one who makes the cake was so rude when I first came in to inquire, The food i ordered is not good as i expected, Lumpia tastes like it was frozen since 1990, definitely not ordering food here for parties anymore!

All of the double large tray orders of dishes such as mechado, lumpia, pansit and menudo, and a two layer strawberry cake were all well worth of its costs. All of our 250+ guests of different ethnicities and ages who had attended my daughter’s cotillion were impressed with the quality and fantastic tastes of their food. The food made my wife and I very proud of what we had served. Many had given us their gracious commendation about them. The delivery was on point, kind, courteous and professional. Thank you!

Parking lot gets full very easily. It’s much smaller then the original spot. Cheaper rent? I don’t know but this spot cooks at this spot but the baked goods are cooked off site then delivered fresh every day, Mom ordered the fresh lumpia 4.99 each… WOW. They were just okay. Wrapper didn’t seem all that fresh and the veggies just didn’t have that fresh snap and crunch to it. For 5 bucks it was a let down.

I’m not Filipino but this is one of my fav places for Filipino fast food! I usually get the beef caldareta or bisteak. Service is usually pretty quick but don’t forget to bring a tray up to order, they will remind you! I really want to give it 4 stars but some dishes I don’t get here, like tocino, are really not that good compared to other places in the area.

Chicken Adobo — good stuff. Lumpia — really good stuff Taro leaves — Will buy a bucket of this next time. Dinuguan(chocolate meat) — lick the bowl awesome. Rice Banana, condensed milk, crushed ice, boba — not our favorite. I had heard a lot about Goldilocks for years, but mainly as a bakery. We were happily surprised that they actually have real food. Cafeteria style. Hard to remember what things are called, but everything we pointed to turned out to be delicious. Skipping the special boba drinks next time though.

What a amazing Goldie!!! Ok first this location is pretty large and it’s new. Yummy fresh and hot food to eat right there or grab those yummy bread treats. I mean when you think of a soft bun with cheese and sugar on it you might think it’s gonna be gross… DON’T…the heavens open up with 390 calories your more then happy to consume! Yes the ENSAYMADA is glorious! So if your driving home from SF stop over here and grab your goodies

Since they moved it seems the quality of the food had taken a nose dive. Last time I was there, the beef empanada filling was burned. It was gross. The servers don’t smile. Just not a warm atmosphere anymore. A Caucasian couple asked the server what was in the different foods and clearly the lady server did not speak any English. I had to tell the couple myself. If I could leave no stars, I would. I visited their old location eons ago and this is my first visit to their new location. Location is better but service and food still lacking anything to possibly recommend. We came for breakfast. We approached the food line, no good morning, no smiles, just«next, what do you want». The women behind the line look so miserable and not an ounce of friendliness at all. When we asked questions about availability of some dishes or what’s in this or that, we got attitude. My mom even made a comment about how snotty they were. We paid and the cashiers looked like they’d rather be anywhere but there, again no smiles or please/thank yous. We sat down to eat and the food was barely like warm, the meat in the beef calderata was tough as hell. The lechon kawali was nothing but skin and fat. I know that it usually has some but there was no actual meat in the serving they gave us. Almost felt like we were being punished. Everything was overly salted. The pork adobo was as tough and drowning in salt. Ugghhh… feeling queezy just thinking about it. Couldn’t finish anything we ate, left it there. I drank a gallon of water when I got home. So disappointing and an embarrassment to Filipino cooking. Don’t waste your time or money.

First time in over 15 years I’ve been back to goldilocks for a cake and I have to say, I’m impressed with the quality. As a child, all of my birthday cakes have been from goldilocks. Of course a lot has changed since then but thankfully the quality hasn’t. I dropped by today to pick up a birthday cake for my brother and I was really pleased with the service. I have to be honest, I was a little hesitant to come here because of reviews. Usually when a place is two and half stars on Unilocal,I avoid it like the plague. But because I decided to give a try anyways and I’m glad I did. The staff was friendly, professional and quick. I bought the marble chiffon cake and asked them to personalize it. I waited no longer than five minutes then I was out the door. The cake looked super cute! They added some flowers and rainbow sprinkles, which gave it a finishing touch PLUS the writing was actually nice for once. Last time I picked up a cake(elsewhere) the writing looked like a serial killer wrote it. But yea, this concludes my review. Overall, I would comeback here again. Despite the low ratings, imo it’s worth checking out!

they’re not as friendly. i feel like i’m always being rushed when ordering here. Not to mention I ordered pork sinigang one time and they ran out in front so the woman taking my order went to the back to fill up my order, i felt special! then i went home only to find out they gave me beef nilaga. Not even close yo! It’s not even the same meat. I don’t know how they messed that up.

My parents frequent Goldilocks A LOT and I’m usually with them for lunch on the weekends. It can get very busy and the lines get long, but move relatively quickly based on how fast people order. The new location is a lot cleaner and has a more open layout compared to their old spot. Most of the food here is solid(take into consideration it’s cafeteria style). My favorites include the pork sinigang, bistek, pork bbq with pancit sotanghon and lumpiang shanghai, the fresh lumpia and the ukoy. If you’re looking for a quick Filipino food fix, stop by Goldilocks. I’ll probably run into you there.

Oh, wow. The sinigang is just like I remember! Its tasted so consistent for the past 10 years, I am very proud! The sotanghon was really tasty. The pork sisig was super flavorful… The polvoron are always amazing. My craving for the familiar filipino flavors of childhood was satisfied. The only thing is that this new place is so SMALL. Please make another location or expand. It’s bound to be too crowded during peak hours.

It’s mainstream Filipino that you pay extra for the name and pretty packaging of their sweets. But I grew up with this stuff so I can’t resist every now and again. The old ladies make me laugh because it feels like an aunt serving me food. They sometimes are eating and talking and serving food all at once. Kind of slow but I get my food eventually and I’m usually pretty satisfied with my palabok and siopao.

Clean store, Location great,…Food not so much. I got the Dinuguan(sweet fatty pork)…first time ever that they had sliced pork as the meat. Not a fresh delicious taste. I’m assuming it is a cost saving measure… they should go back to original with the stew like chunks of fresh meat. Fresh Lumpia, pancit and the chicken pocket pies. Also had a weird experience while paying for food. Guy takes my credit card and runs out door… in middle of transaction. I believe he was running out to give someone food left behind… not sure. That would have been fine… but, but with my credit card. Odd!

Newer place but chaos! The food counter was way smaller compared to the old one. So everyone was standing taking orders and it looks like a mess. Tables and chairs scattered everyone especially when it’s packed. You have to go around circles before you can exit. Food was good but over priced in my opinion. The baked goods are over priced. The KareKare was too. The meat was swimming in sauce.

Hoy! psst pssst! Gutam na ako! Located in a shopping center adjacent to Pacific Market and Take One Pizza. Coming from the valley, I grew up in a predominantly Filipino setting, so naturally, I have really grown to love Filipino culture, people, and food! Chicken adobo– flavorful and tasty. Reminds me of everything I’ve ever had at a Filipino potluck. Pinakbet– a blend of bittermelon, squash, green bean, and shrimp paste aka shrimp bagoong. Anything you would expect in this salty, delicious vegetable dish. I can eat this straight up, but it’s probably best suited with rice. Pancit– basic and yummy. Sisig– it was a bit tough, though the flavor was there. Not sure if it was close to closing or whether that’s just the way they serve meats, but I found myself wanting to floss my teeth after each bite. Now that’s stringy. Bangus(milkfish) — a bit dry. It probably sat out for lord knows how long under the heating lamp before it got to me though. Lumpia shanghai– now these were reaaaaally dry and almost inedible. Siopao– Mmm now these were BOMB. Light and fluffy on the outside, moist and yummy on the inside! Woot woot! The snacks and desserts here are pretty decent. Always a nice place to grab some goodies to go. Definitely come here if you want yummy flavors that hit the spot. They have great prices and cafeteria style services. They serve party trays here too if you feel like entertaining a larger group.

Goldilocks = Love/Hate relationship. When you crave a quick Filipino meal and you know it’s always available, you go to Goldilocks. But once you start eating, you quickly realize that you are being let down by the lack of flavor in each dish. Came in during the weekday and felt exactly that way. I know it’s not great but I’m desperate. I ordered the diniguan(pork with pork blood stew) and it was too sour; Fresh lumpia was bland and the sauce was not garlicky enough for that distinctive taste I was looking for. I would go elsewhere but it’s too convenient being in the same plaza as Philz Coffee!

This new place is ok and a lot smaller. Not as much food or pastries/cakes compared to their old location at callan. I came in on a Saturday morning wanting to get an empanada. Two employees were in front of the food stand arranging the food. They didn’t even bother to look up and acknowledge me. When one employee saw me, he ignored me and continued to do what he was doing. Finally, after 5 minutes of waiting they said something. Customer service has gone down hill for goldilocks. I give this place 3 stars because their pastries/cakes are yummy!

this place is the worse version of the old place. came in here with a friend because of my cravings for cake or leche flan. Not much cakes to choose from although you can tell they accept orders. A lot of other pastries on their shelves… a lot more than anything else actually. Their hot food part got smaller it seems like. less food option. the dessert part got lesser too. seemed a bit more expensive. They don’t offer cake slices which was kinda sad for a bakery. customer service was not great. more seats but now it feels more like a shopping mall than a café/bakery/restaurant.

Customer service was poor. Just because I couldn’t speak the language I was made to feel ignorant then ignored. I wanted pinakbet & I understood from her mannerism that it wasn’t ready. I asked her how long it would take, she dismissed me & went to the next customer. Why would the treat customers this way. I walked away choosing not to spend my money in a place like this. I am proud to be Filipina but am ashamed of Filipino people who don’t respect some one who would patronize their business. Their new location was a bad decision. Those who served food at the old location were better people. I will not go there again & will recommend my friends not go there. Too bad I can’t give a –1 star.

I’m not Filipino but I like all food types. I have tried this place’s stews and hot food and cookies a few times now and I like them. As a person who can’t access this type of food at home and have to pay for it, I like their choices and the taste. I have only come here during off peak times and I can see how the line to order the hot food can become irritating with the condiment and beveragr area right there on the left side. Seems much like the size of a bakery with a handful of tables… more for takeout orders. Like the size of a bigger Sheng Kee Chinese bakery or so.

I was carded when buying a cake. The register screen clearly states customers should prepare to show valid photo ID when making a credit card purchase. The problem is — not everyone was asked to do it. Only me. Only my ID was scrutinized alongside my bank debit card with numerous rude glances at my face and my driver license. My daughter commented on how obnoxious that was. My daughter went back the next day with her father to purchase the same exact cake I did to verify what we experienced the day prior. They BOTH reported not only was he not asked to furnish ID like I was, when he started to remove it from his wallet the woman ringing him up waved it off and told him it wasn’t necessary. I know when my business isn’t appreciated — rather, it is treated as a HUGE inconvenience to take my hard earned money. Don’t mistreat people like me. You know, customers. If your policy is one that you make it obvious your customers have a history of fraud by having signage stating they need to furnish ID when using a credit card maybe it is in your best interest to card EVERYONE — not just the ones that you are prejudiced against that you suspect are committing fraud. I did not appreciate being singled out. No one deserves that. It’s sad when people mistreat me when I haven’t done anything wrong. It is mind boggling really. CARDEVERYONEWHENTHATISYOURPOLICY. It’s a catch 22 because if I didn’t allow this singling out and furnish my identification, I indirectly confirm an incorrect assumption that I am not trustworthy — that I am using a card that isn’t mine. I only allowed it because people«like me» deserve to be respected like everyone else when we spend our hard earned money despite the ignorant person working the register. I paid for the cake with my hard earned money. The mistreatment and obvious attempt to deny my dignity by acting suspicious is ridiculous. It makes me sad that people in the world are so insensitive to others they feel free to behave that way when they are working with the public. I didn’t deserve it. No one does. I will not return since they clearly seemed to mistrust and dislike me, a paying customer. It really is just so disappointing. This is a business not a private club. I would not recommend this place to my family and friends for fear they, too, will be mistreated. Even worse, the«safeguards» against credit card fraud aren’t sound. There are a multitude of bakeries in the Bay Area that handle customers purchases with professionalism. This one did not. One well deserved star.

This location is an okay one. A downgrade from the old location up in Callan, logistics-wise, when it comes to the serving of its food. Can be quite bothersome and cramped, so come with plenty of patience when patronizing. Another weird thing is that if you order dishes, they will measure the portions in front of you. Not that there’s anything wrong with measuring, but down to exact measurement? In front of their customers? It may be offensive and quite time-consuming to get your order. Plus, it kind of gives customers that this establishment is stingy. It may be best if they train their servers to properly eye out their portion size. Take it with a grain of salt. Food is rather bland, but they do have a drink and condiment station with hot sauce, vinegar, and patis. I’m personally glad they have hot sauce.

I used to come here as a kid and loved coming here so when I saw it I got pretty excited. I thought of the desserts and the first time I had coconut juice in a can. But.where do I start. I made the mistake by ordering their signature dishes instead of the combos. I didn’t know it was an option so I spent more for my food since I had to buy the items individually. There are no signs that display anything about combos. When I came to the register I added Shanghai Lumpia rolls and the cashier told me,“oh you didn’t order it yet? You should have ordered it back there.” And pointed towards the beginning of the line. This is something of expect at JollyBee not Goldilocks. Of course there’s more to add but I’ll save it for an updated review. Hopefully they can turn it around, they just opened and I would have thought they would be happy and just as excited to greet their customers as I was to be there.
