I’m a big lover of all things that resemble café’s or bakeries. I loved coming to Paris Baguette for their products, and I’ve always been a big fan since they first opened in San Jose. However time after time, this specific location has scarred me: –Product timing: their items don’t come out until 10am. There are a handful of items that come out first thing at 7am. But the real variety doesn’t come out until 10am. Unless you are free all day, or you have time to line up during the weekends, then be prepared to get only a plain croissant. No bakery opens as late as 7am, which should, in my opinion, be ample time to have all the items out and prepared. –Service sucks*: Once you have patiently waited for the products, the service here just leaves a terrible impression. There are so many people in the counter area(wearing black and white) but never enough registers open. There are a couple of people willing to do their jobs, but you can tell immediately, that they are burnt out because the others are not pitching in. Which make them dry, curt, and downright rude sometimes. –Attention to the wrong stuff: Having not come to PB for months… I had to get out of the house to finish a paper that I had been struggling to write all night. I needed a place quiet and had wifi, so I came back to paris baguette. As usual their tables were disgustingly dirty even though there were no customers in the whole building. I got myself some pastries a coffee and started writing my paper. I had my earphones plugged in, and accidentally nodded off for 10minutes. I was literally just dozing, because I was so exhausted from the night before. Not snoring like a homeless person. And a cashier/PB member came to me, and told me that there is no sleeping allowed in the café. I understand, they’re trying to avoid loitering. I apologized and explained it was an accident and that I must have been really tired. He then went on to say to try some caffeine. I said I was trying because I obviously had a big cup of coffee in front of me. It all would’ve been ok even up to that point. But he then went on to offer some caffeine pills from his car. I don’t know if he was being helpful… but it was getting REALLY embarrassing. I said I was fine. I get it. I’m not going to sleep anymore! I got up to use the restroom to wash my face, when a man walked out of the women’s restroom. He was in a chef’s coat, and he DEFINITELY did not wash his hands. If he was identifying himself as a woman, I say — Go girl! do your thing. But this was not the case. I can deduce he was desperate to use the restroom, because the men’s was occupied. And it’s gross to imagine he had touched any of the food considering he doesn’t wash his hands after using the restroom. Safe to say. Worst. Experience. at Paris Baguette. EVER. Thank you!

I love their red bean pastries. I brought twists, mango and guava turnovers, Apple pie, and a donut home and they were a hit. So crispy and most. Utter perfection.

I Came in here with my cousin to get a chai latte at 8:30pm last week on a Saturday night and the lady who rings me up tells me that she can’t make us any because she already turned it off! 30 mins earlier?! Who does that?! So disappointed. I’m pretty sure you are supposed to turn off the coffee machine once the store closes, and she was rushing to get the doors locked and it wasn’t even time yet, won’t be coming back here.

Parking lot and it gets full more often than not. I give it 4 instead of 3. Just because if you can find what you like… it’s consistent. My favorite thing is the chicken salad sandwich which is wrapped in a croissant type filo bread. It’s my go to sandwich at this point for chicken salad or lighter type of sandwich. Really crisp veggies and a wonderful taste. Hope you won’t buy them all up. About the 4 instead of 3. The bakery part itself is different than some places. What I mean is. It’s very bready(is that a word)? Some places have very light flakey bread. This is somewhat thicker and crisper. I think most people want their pastries flakey. Plus some choices are not just plain chocolate inside. Lots of flavors that seem oriented toward a more sophisticated palette. I like their sandwiches so much I went up. If it’s the other baked goods. 3. Another thing is their refrigerated cakes and desserts. I like them much more than their pastries.

A worker walks up to me «sir, we close in 5 minutes» LITERALLY Two minutes later the same worker walks up to me, «sorry sir, we are closed» What happened to 5 minutes? Maybe the kids that run this place need more common core math skills. It’s also not fun standing in a line 5 people deep with no cashier in sight… luckily both things didn’t happen on the same day… oh, wait, no, they did. Customer service here is definitely lacking at times(see above and multiply by a few times)…many times. Pastries are good, but not as good as the customer service is bad. Maybe I am just an old angry curmudgeon, but being young doesn’t need to mean immature and carefree. Happy(!!!) Eating!

The coffee, breads, and pastries we so scrumptious! Great little café spot that is open way after business hours. Good spot for college kids to grab a bite, a pick me up, mingle, or do some school work. Service was quick, polite, and served with a smile. This is a good place to grab some treats for your friends and office mates.

Update: we went back for the aforementioned beverages and pastries. We LOVED the almond pastry and the sweet potato pastry. I was really excited to try the horchata, but it was underwhelming.

Pastries here are really good! Coffee is decent. But the staff is not so friendly. Well not all the time. Sometimes they are nice, other days some have an attitude. It’s kind of a hit or miss. But definitely try their pastries!

Great place location and a great place to study! Free wi-fi of course. I love how the coffee is free refills and they do art on top of their lattes; very nice. I tried their green tea chiffon cake and it wasn’t too sweet therefore I liked it. Another item I tried was the chocolate bread, it’s very dry, so I was kind of upset about that. 3 stars just because the place is dirty, especially their tables are never wiped down.

The short: wonderful place to grab a bite to eat, drink coffee, meet up with people, do work, etc. This is the most spacious Paris Baguette I’ve been to, and I like how the seating isn’t cramped unlike other locations. There are seats encircling the central workstation(cashier/coffee area). I grabbed my favorites and enjoyed a bite to eat after a mild hike nearby before heading back home. If heading East on Westborough, make a left onto Gellert or use the left-turn pocket to make a left into the shopping center(right next to Chase bank) from Westborough. My GPS took me under the freeway before telling me to make a U-turn and then making a right. Awkward…

Yeah, it’s good. Simple enough. You go in to the left of the counter you have the goodies. You grab a tray, place wax paper. Grab tongs and start loading up on yummies from basic buns to delicious filled fried or baked goods. They also have salads, and sandwiches. You bring the tray over to the counter ask for your drinks. Now have a seat on the couch or lounge seats and enjoy what you have picked. Coffee is self serve but you have a real cup. Not the sippy cup you get from star bucks but real mugs. Next stop is to try more things. Warning this can be habit forming.

This place is not much different compared to the other places in terms of food. I feel the place here is not the cleanest among the others. I saw a spider running around the sofas here once and just freaked out. I don’t really like the layout of this place too much, but if you want your blueberry chiffron cake, you will do anything for it. Sometimes the line to pay can get crowded because you have people walking all over the aisle to look at stuff and they will make the aisle more crowded, so hold onto your plate tight!

I wish I had the time to trek over to Paris Baguette myself! The delish looking photos of baked goods on Unilocal make for good perusing activity. My co workers pleasantly surprised me with their strawberry cake! It was light and airy — pretty perfect for a non-dessert gal like me. The strawberries were really fresh and combined with the fluffy white cake, it made for a nice change to all the heavy birthday cakes I got that week.(Yes, there were 3 other cakes!) the only thing I thought was weird were the coconut flakes they used with the buttercream icing. It just didn’t belong there. Either way, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paris Baguette for anyone looking for a birthday cake. Schubert’s in SF is still my top choice though :)

The one item Paris Baguette offers that lured me into paying this pastry shop a visit is their cronuts(croissant doughnuts). They had a few flavors to choose from — sweet cream, blueberry, and mango — and I opted for the sweet cream. What I found strange was how all the cronuts were cut in half in order to pipe the flavored filling inside, resulting in sloppy presentation. The pastry’s layers weren’t light and crispy, but rather dense and a bit chewy; overall, the cronut was too oily and I wouldn’t repurchase them. Other items I tried were the pastry twist and a chocolate chiffon cake. The pastry twist reminded me of palmiers, but they weren’t as crispy. And the chocolate chiffon cake was just three layers of plain, but moist, chocolate cake with thick layers of vanilla cream frosting. Overall, it wasn’t anything special. If I’m in the area and craving some baked goodies, I may give Paris Baguette another try, as they have a wide selection of desserts and both sweet and savory pastries. The café shop is quite large and spacious, with plenty of seating. With its self-serve cafeteria-style setting, where you get a tray and pick out your favorite items with a set of tongs and pay at the cashier, you can get a bit carried away if you eat with your eyes.

People make me laugh when they say this place has a small selection compared to other bakeries. Given this location, I think they’re doing a good job. Heck, I expected 5 items instead of the over 20 items. The flaky pastries were pretty tasty. I liked their cream cheese croissants. Any filling with cream cheese was great here. I had the blueberry and raspberry cream cheese croissants and was satisfied. I also sampled their raisin bread and other samples they had about and thought they were tasty too. I’d come back for sure.

Serena L told us about this place. Since we were in the area, it was definitely time to try a «cronut.» The place is similar to Asian bakeries where its self service with trays and tongs. We got the last three blueberry yogurt cronuts, which were amazing hybrid of a donut(nerds like me call the shape a torus) with flakiness of croissants. The blueberry yogurt was balanced sweet and tart. Very addictive. We also got chocolate twists(fresh from the oven) and a red bean pastry that looked like a danish.
