With traffic moving slowly alongside Main Street into Southwest Harbor due to construction, we had time to take in our surroundings and I spied a sign of great interest to me at the corner of Seal Cove Road as its inventory is always one I seek out… The yarns. I had been to a few yarn shops while we were in Maine and had learned to not be surprised by the goodies which are found behind plain doors. I guess I am more used to a NY/NJ type of Little Yarn Shop, you know because I am a fancccy grrrrl! ;))) But I try to keep an open mind and hope for the best. I was overjoyed when I saw the selection as they had that Icelandic supposedly Hard to Find line I had searched high and low for in months past(still trying to figure out that pattern) and found as well as a line I was told had been discontinued from which I had made a very remarked on hat. I needed no more of the former but was happy to relieve them of some of the latter to make the same hat for friends for holiday gifts. Both were from established yarn companies but knowing Maine has many fiber farms I wanted to explore her local options. There was a nice selection but none I could not live without. I was happy with the few skeins I found and having a nice convo with the owner who was friendly and indulgent of me on one of my enthusiastic woolie highs! ;))) She really has a nicely varied selection for all levels of knitters and all price points. As the business had not been listed in Unilocal I might have otherwise missed it. But due to the road work I found it and was glad to give it a recon and add it to Unilocal so that other like minded knitters may find it too. They also have fabrics, hence the name, for quilters and sewers too. And unlike many businesses in town they have a parking lot making a stop facile. :)))
