Excellent service, warm salsa and good queso. It was our first time and we will be back!

Outstanding! Me and the family frequent weekly! Monday & Tuesday margarita specials and I highly recommend the carnitas or the no-name enchiladas!!!

Look elsewhere for quality Tex Mex, Like Pappasitos. Pros, quality chips and salsa, and service is excellent. Quiet and not many kids a plus. Nice décor. Cons, poor quality margaritas and very expensive, from 6.99 to 17.99. Your glass will be filled mostly with ice too. Common scam for cost cutting. The draft beer glasses are very small. After trying this place twice the entrees are about the worst we have tried and the fajitas are a total joke. Prices are especially high for what you get, or don’t get.

Drinks and food are pretty good. Not A+ top notch but a good all around meal. The tamales and fajita meat are C+. Service was B-. But still a good deal for the price.

Really great little Mexican restaurant! I like this place much better than cilantro’s/rico’s across the street. Better food, legit salsa, great service… we will definitely be back… soon!

The best queso. They have Carne guisada that is super delicious. Caldo de res is so good too. I live in the woodlands and this is one of the better MX restaraunts up here. The only one I frequent when craving Mexican food.

Crowded, cramped, loud, kids running around, and babies crying; the food was mediocre and service was nonexistent. Food had the consistency and flavor of an old TV dinner. Waited about five minutes before I was greeted by a hostess and 15 minutes for a waiter who mumbled and could barely be understood, I am suspicious that he was really just a busser that noticed I was sitting around for too long. The only positives, drinks were refilled quickly and food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. My experience may have been different if I was with a large, loud, party or family with 5 kids. I should add, I am updating my review from two to one stars, within an hour or two of eating here tonight, I was running to the bathroom for dear life; haven’t been able to move since I got home…

The Salsa’s great and every dish I’ve had is great. The staff is always refiling your glass and the lunch specials are decent. I would defentely recommend this place over other Mexican restaurants in the area.

Very attentive service, smiling staff. We had the fajitas mixed-VERY yummy-nicely seasoned and grilled. Fresh veggies and great rice and beans. Highly recommend! We will be back!

The chimichanga and queso are fantastic. So are the quesadillas and margaritas and everything else. The salsa verde is also delicious. Service is slow sometimes… But the food makes it worth it.

The most mediocre Mexican food I have ever eaten… Taco Bell served more flavorful food. Service was okay but slow for the amount of people there(place was dead).

Worst experience here or at any Mexican restaurant ever! I used to come here weekly with friends and haven’t been back in a long time. We came here for the first time in a long time, and the service levels have severely deteriorated! What a disappointment! The waiters and busboys decided that they would start rearranging furniture while the restaurant was filled with a decent amount of customers. Rather than pick the tables up and put them where they wanted, they decided to push them and the squealing sounded like a horrible cat fight happening in the joint! Then our waiter decided it was time to dry silverware. He was slamming silverware down so hard my friend and I couldn’t hear each other talking across the table from each other. When asked why they had to do that right in the middle of the restaurant, the idiot managers reply was that’s his job, don’t you have a job? All I asked was why drying silverware requires it to be slammed down so loud that your guests can’t hear themselves. Telling me that’s his job is not an acceptable answer. Thanks for helping me decide NEVER to return again. There are a million other Mexican places in Houston, you’ll enjoy any one of them better than this place!

This place has in fairy reviewed. And I can see the Unilocal forked almost all of the godos reviews which will probably make some people not go to this awesome restaurant. In fact me and my wife almost didn’t come here because of the 2 stars. All people reading this scroll down to the bottom of the reviews and click on the link that says«not recommended» reviews. Ok so now for the actual reviews. The food here is unbelievable. The shrimp fajitas appetizers ate so freaking amazing. The Margaritas are strong and tasty. The fajitas I would give an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10(and we have high expectations when it comes to fajitas. Also the service is prompt and attentive. Unilocal please stop screwing business like this by filtering all of their food reviews.

I’m giving this place 5 stars because these other bad reviewers have shafted these guys, and it seems all their good reviews are getting filtered by Unilocal. For the price you get strong great tasting margaritas plus lots of food that is cooked and seasoned well. The fajitas for 2 can feed about 4 and the beef is tender and tasty, not chewy like some places that use the cheaper cut of meat. See the«not recommended» reviews for these guys. Unilocal… you’re not fair.

Strongest house frozen margarita I’ve ever had. I’ve been here a couple of times with friends for happy hour — their margaritas during happy hour are reasonably priced. They have warm salsa(not a fan) and a pretty good green sauce. The food is always decent, nothing amazing, but good enough to go back. The service is always good. If for nothing else, I would recommend going here for a couple margaritas if you’re in the area.

Frankly, I’m not sure how this, or any other average Tex-Mex place stays open. Only real recommendation I can give is for the«Green Sauce» on the enchiladas. Nothing really bad, but the food and décor was very average. I would skip it in favor of other options at this time. One other plus, for drinkers only, is the bar seemed tidy and the drink menu had some good options and specials.

Casa imperial by far is our favorite Mexican rest. Around the woodlands. We have never had any issues with service but only been there three times. As far as the food is concerned anything with BEEF I highly recommend. There beef is amazing. Whatever they marinate it in is crazy good. Now the chicken is ok and would say it was just like any other Tex mex place but nowhere around here has beef half as good. Fajitas are amazing!!! Queso. Always a must For those that like an adult beverage my fiancé and her friends now go for the margaritas. Especially the banana The beat part about this place is the price. Mexican food is extremly cheap compared to other foods so paying 14.99 for fajitas for one is insane. Here it’s 9 bucks and 7 for lunch. Again. A must if u like Mexican food

Nice little place. Stopped by for dinner with a friend after evening church, and it really hit the spot. Nice, clean, friendly atmosphere. Chips and salsa were good. Salsa was more tomato’y and smooth though. I like. Also had vinegar’d vegetables with the chips, nice addition. Prices were pretty decent. We had a couple combo plates, so: Queso puff — A upside down taco shell bowl thing with queso dumped on top? Hehe, ok… Tasty and easy. Beef taco — Good beef stuff in it, very tasty. Cheese Enchilada — Needed more cheese in it, but good. Taco al Carbon — Very tasty, favorite thing! Yummo. Some other enchilada my friend had — Heard no complaints. Took us a while to get our checks taken care of, but no biggy. Would come again, but would vote for other better places in the area though!

Nice place for classic Tex-Mex in the Woodlands. Came in as a single & was seated immediately at 8pm on a Sunday nite. Only two of 15 tables were in use by diners. Chips & salsa were brought out promptly. Drinks order arrived equally quickly. Entrée came out hot, fast, & tasty! Chicken fajitas were really good. Heads up, the large guac order is BIG. Service was prompt & friendly. Only drawback was it took :10 to get my check after I asked for it. Lone waiter was busy with other tables. I wasn’t in a rush, but it shouldn’t have taken that long.

The Woodlands area has no shortage of Tex-Mex establishments, and we’re working on trying ‘em all. The latest suspect is Casa Imperial, located in the old huge strip center on Sawdust. Entering the restaurant, you find a warm, inviting environment. A bit more decorated than most strip-center spots, it’s an inviting place for lunch or dinner. Service is iffy. We visited on a Monday night, and there were two other parties in the dining room. But the staff seemed more focused on the Astros game that was playing in the bar area than on taking care of customers. On three occasions we tired of waiting and had to seek out staff. The food was very average Tex-Mex cuisine, the same as you’d find at hundreds of other places in the Houston area. Nothing outstanding, nothing really bad, just average. Prices were average, too. If the service issues were fixed, Casa Imperial would be a solid three-star establishment. But the substandard service means that in the competitive Tex-Mex market, there are many better choices. C’mon, folks. It’s not like the Astros are worth watching these days.
