Do not order online. You will never get your food. Why have online ordering if it doesn’t work? Terrible.

You have to understand that you’re getting Chinese carry out here. For what it is, it’s an amazing combination of price and flavor. Certainly better than the other alternatives out there, even sit-in locations.(Panda Express? Forget about it. Szechuan Star. Nope. China King? Nope. The list goes on. Since my days in college, whenever I had a hankering for Chinese food, Hunan Express was my only option, except when I’d venture to see if a viable alternative exists.) For over a decade, Hunan Express has been my favorite Chinese delivery/carry-out. The portions are ample, the food tastes good for Americanized Chinese food. Recommended for flavor, but not necessarily value, as you will see from my notes(not in any particular order of preference – just my go-to items): 1. General Tso’s Chicken 2. Chicken w/Chili Sauce 3. Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp 4. Combination Lomein/Fried Rice 5. Beef Chow Fun 6. Double Cooked Pork(Flavor is awesome; not NEARLY enough meat, so avoid this unless you’re trying to look for a «healthier» option. Tons of cabbage.) 7. Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce(Again, great flavor, but not enough shrimp.)

In my search for trying to find the best Chinese close by I stumbled across Hunan Express. We ordered combination fried rice which was really good. They give you a good portion in a reusable bowl. It was full of meat and flavored good. We also ordered the chicken broccoli which was just ok, the sauce was not what i was use to but not bad. It also came in a reusable bowl. I noticed on their menu they have a fried eggplant meal I may try it next. So I played it safe by just ordered these two meals and they satisfied our hunger. Still on my search to find the best Chinese food in NOVA…

Excellent, fresh, hot Chinese food and well-portioned for the price. A delicious alternative to Panda Express. General Tzo’s chicken is not too hot but just spicy enough, and the egg drop soup is outstanding. The gentleman who is usually serving the counter is very nice and food comes up very quick. Too bad it’s pretty much take out only. Would love to sit in if it was possible!
