Please stick to the Chinese food – the sushi will turn you green. The service was nice. The Chinese food was decent. The sushi was appalling… I should have known better! Would have been a 3.5 if I hadn’t ordered one sushi roll. It will haunt my dreams!

Closed down. Looked at the reviews and went to try it out but a note on the door says it’s CLOSED and a new business is coming.

As far as Asian food in a not-so-ethnically-diverse city in the middle of Utah goes… this place is pretty darn great. You know, Asian food is Asian food, it’s good stuff! These guys do quite well at preparing tasty dishes and bringing them to you without too much of a wait time. I’ve been here a couple dozen times and I’ll return several more I’m sure. It’s definitely one of the better places for Asian food in Saint George, Utah. The only odd hiccough I’ve ever had was there was one time I paid using cash and apparently I was three dollars short(Which I did not realize, and you’d think they would have stopped me from leaving, but they didn’t), so the next time I went there the waiter made a point of telling me that the last time I ate there I was three dollars short. So I apologized and pulled three dollars out of my wallet and handed it to him. He then refused to take the money, so I offered more insistently several more times which he refused again. Finally I just stuffed the money in his pocket and left, haha. Seriously dude, if you’re going to make a big deal about me being short on a check… either let me make it right or forget about it. Really though, they’re nice people and they make great food.(just make sure you do the math right when paying in cash… haha)

I sadly never had an opportunity to eat at Red Ginger because I was 4th in line waiting for a table on a Saturday night. I only got moved up to the top of the waiting list because the other 3 parties left after having waited MUCH longer than myself. Thinking I would be able to gain a table at last, my dreams were crushed when another party arrived 10 minutes after myself and were immediately sat. So After roughly 20 minutes of waiting for acknowledgement from the seemingly indifferent staff(which was poorly understaffed), I decided to leave and invest my money elsewhere. Absolutely Horrible service.

Sushi wasn’t bad but the Chinese food was not so great. Orange chicken had good meat and breading but the sauce was pretty bad.

Actually would give them a 3.5(between a 4 and 3). Ordered the vegetarian brocolli cashew, mapo tofu and vegetable lo mein to go. Americanized but pretty good(passable). Liked the mapo tofu the best(the most authentic). Only thing they forgot was the fork/spoon/napkins for take out… I loved the imitation wood tile and the interior seemed pretty nice, clean and comfortable. Only thing I would say is they should have more vegetarian options, definitely need a website to check out the menu and nees more attention to detail to include utensils for take-out.

I usually agree with Unilocal reviews and I use it religiously when I am in unfamiliar places. However this one has totally shocked me that it gets 4 stars!!! Oh my goodness. We did not have sushi and my 2 stars are only because the place was very clean and nice. Other than that, the service was just okay, not overly friendly and the food was very subpar. Our sesame beef looked just like chicken and tasted like breaded grease, the sweet and sour chocked had 2 small pieces of green pepper, 1 pice of pineapple and 2 small pieces of onion. Other than that it was not a lot of chicken and mostly fried batter. Lastly the mooshu(sp?) pork was okay but the wraps were hard and crust in some spots and soft in others. It’s the kind of meal you regret paying for and feel pretty gross for a few days after eating it. :(sorry…

Passing through Utah, it was Unilocal ratings that brought a friend and I to try Red Ginger. We were looking forward to decent Chinese food and the Unilocal ratings certainly indicated that this small restaurant wouldn’t disappoint us; a few ratings commented on slow service, however, and I was a bit concerned as our dinner stop was in the latter stages of a very long day of driving. My concern grew a bit as we were seated several minutes before our orders were taken. That said, once the orders were placed service was quite fast and attentive. The food was well-prepared and tasty. So the bottom line is we were happy to have stopped by. It was a great and satisfying break from our drive.

Hella fresh sushi, nonexistent service. The 50% off sushi banner outside caught my eye and is the only reason we gave this place a try– the two rolls we tried(St. George and Fantastic) were both large and flavorful with plenty of fresh fish. Rolls were both priced around $ 16 – 18, which as a regular price is quite high but with the half-off was very nice. Also had a large bowl of miso soup to share with by BF– we got the large bowl, and two smaller serving bowls, and two spoons to eat with. No serving spoon to get the soup from the larger to the smaller bowls without risking pouring and spilling. Soup itself was good though– lots of curly seaweed and chunks of tofu. There appeared to be two servers but the female one just seemed to be wandering around while the male(who was ours) was literally running across the dining room at times and looked overworked before the dinner rush started at 5PM. Saw server once for water and to place our orders, then to drop off check. Dishes were dropped off without a word to us, and table was never cleared. They need to hire additional staff.

This place is great! It’s some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The service can be spotty. Sometimes they are extremely attentive sometimes they seem to forget that there are people in their restaurant. But for the most part service is good. All of the sushi I have tried(4 different rolls) has been great tasting and fantastically priced. The fried rice is the best I’ve ever eaten. Everything I have tried here has been wonderful. I have never spend more than $ 20(including a fair tip) and I’ve always left full and with leftovers. I highly recommend this place!

Outstanding. REALLYGOOD. BESTPRAWNSEVER. We ordered moo shu, Orange chicken, lo mein, pancakes and the walnut prawns. Everything was incredible. Too bad they are soooo far from home! My kids are fans, my whole family raved about this place. The servers are friendly. The chef came out and chatted with us. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. The prawns were better than pf Chang’s. Well done! !

I found our experience mixed. My tea pot was filthy, water tasted like bleach, my friends food wasn’t cooked completely, the egg drop soup was bland, the waiter didn’t speak english well, was not attentive and was angry when we asked for food to be cooked or refunded because it wasn’t edible. The manager was rude to my boyfriend because he was refusing to eat it or pay for it then they both escalated into an argument. i was upset with the way we were treated. they were offended and didn’t care and insisted we pay for it. But on the other hand… my sushi I ordered was outstanding delicious and the sesame chicken was perfectly cooked. Too bad I do not feel comfortable going back in because of the way they treated us for wanting my boyfriends broccoli beef cooked completely.

Great experience. Ordered Lemon chicken and tiny spicy chicken. Large portions, great flavor. Service was really good as well. The menu had many options from sushi to more traditional Chinese dishes. Would definitely return.

This place is amazing. We have eaten here three times now and every time the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We even have small kids and they brought the rice early and were awesome. The food is a great price as well and the portions are very big. The sushi is also very good and low priced. Five stars all the way, don’t listen to anyone that tells you differently.

We went to this restaurant on a busy Saturday night to order takeout. The staff seemed so overwhelmed by the crowd, they just didn’t appear to know how to handle it. After ignoring us for several minutes, we were able to place our order, with an estimated wait of 25 minutes. As we waited, a gentleman who had been in to order takeout sushi came in to check on the status of his order twice and both times was told it would be another 25 minutes… I never did see him get his food. Forty-five minutes after we ordered, we finally were out the door. The food wasn’t wrapped or anything, so the sauce from the broccoli beef leaked all over everything on the way home. None of the dishes were better than mediocre. Aside from broccoli beef, we ordered egg foo young and general tso’s chicken. The chicken was edible… it just didn’t seem very«general tso-ish.» It could have been sweet and sour chicken or some other deep fried chicken something… just generic. I don’t usually eat egg foo young, but my mom loves the stuff, and she contemplated not even eating the dish we got from Red Ginger, so I don’t take that as a great sign. The fried rice was fairly bland too. Perhaps we didn’t order the dishes that they excel at. Perhaps the busy night made the staff less than friendly. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. But, overall, I was disappointed and probably won’t be going back. If you go, just be aware that you may be in for average food, and if the restaurant is busy – don’t opt for takeout!

Not to be confused with the very popular Red Ginger Bistro in salt lake city this is a Chinese restaurant that also serves sushi. We stopped in for a sushi snack. We had miso soup and two different rolls. Very very delicious and the staff was really friendly. We’ll definitely be back.
