This show is incredibly annoying. I like talk radio so my dial is on this station often and on my way home from work this idiot is on. Is that Mark Close as his kiss ass side-kick who just says«ya, you’re exactly right» every 12 seconds? I have always liked Mark Close, but kissing ass on this show should be embarrassing for him or whoever is doing it. I know, I need to just change the dial, but I was curious how such an uneducated egotist with poor grammar could have a talk show on radio…

I would not call the show edgy — juvenile would be closer to reality. Its primarily a mix of potty and sex jokes delivered at the level of a 12 year old boy, heavily informed by the sexist and homophobic good-ol-boy viewpoint of the host and his sycophantic sidekick. The fact that the show veers off occasionally into an attempt at a serious discussion of religion or a conservative rant by Dave Glover ineffectively channeling Bill O’Reilly doesn’t make up for the banal fart jokes and endless anti-gay humor. You’d think St. Louis could produce something smarter than this, but since its ratings are high, I suppose its what the audience ordered.

This is a review of a RADIOSHOW! If you are in STL and have not listened to the Dave Glover Show you are missing out. It’s on 97.1 fm from 4−7pm weekdays. You may be offeneded; some people are. However if you have a sense of humor at all a little edgy like me you will love this show. You might know that 97.1 is most of the day a conservative talk station(DGS is sandwiched between Sean Hanity). Don’t let this turn you off if you don’t swing that way politically. DGS is not a political show(sometimes they do talk about politics and current events). The majority of his show is pee-your-pants, get-in-a car-accident funny. Check out the 4 – 5 o’clock hour on any given day and you’ll see what I mean; they just talk about anything, everything, nothing of consequence and you’ll either turn it off or you’ll be hooked. Odds are you’ll be hooked; it’s the #1 radio show(not just talk) in the afternoons in STL. They have won tons of serious awards and are just really genuine. Nothing is overproduced or scripted. The show is just naturally funny. If you listen for awhile you’ll hear segments like Battle of the Halfwits, Paranormal Tuesday, The Priest and the Rabbi, Stump the Studio and more crazy stuff. If you love STL, love to laugh, and don’t mind your humor a little blue, you should tune in.
