One of the best(if not the best) men’s clothing stores in the area. And you’re going to love working with Kim and/or Vergil. Both have wonderful taste and the customer service aspect of the place is awesome!

I don’t normally review places on Unilocal but after the service I received here I feel it very necessary… I really like the selection at this store as it’s rare to find vineyard Vines, Southern Tide etc in St Louis. I’ve shopped here many times and purchased several shirts and sweaters for my boyfriend. Each time I’m in here the gentleman that works there makes it seem like I am wasting his time. He barely makes eye contact with me and any questions I have are answered in a condescending tone. My most recent purchase was a pair of southern tide swim trunks. I asked the gentleman if an XL was a 42 waist. He responded yes without even looking up. They looked small to me but had an elasticized waist band and I figured at a store like this they probably know their facts. I also asked while checking out if I could return them and he said since it’s clearance I’d need to get them back ASAP if they don’t fit. When I returned home I looked up the southern tide for guide. An XL is 36 – 38. Quite a big difference from the 42 I asked about. I just went in there today to return them and, barely even looking up from what he was doing, the gentleman informed me they were final sale and that was that. I realize a $ 40 pair of swim trunks isn’t a lot to this store but I expect to be treated like any other patron when I walk into a store to spend my money there, be it $ 40 or $ 400. I enjoy shopping the shops along Clayton in large part because of the attention and courteous service I receive. Return policies aside, the way I was treated in this store several times is deplorable.

Kim Kuehner Sportswear is a distinctively upscale men’s boutique that offers great timely and yet timeless choices. It is easily hands down one of my favorites in Saint Louis. I just love him incredible selection of classic apparel with a preppy feel. Some of the designers and clothing lines I’ve learned to love and appreciate are: Thomas Dean, Bill’s Khakis, Taylor Vintage and Castaway. Before Tommy Bahama had a store at the Galleria I bought all my Tommy here and still do. Kim somehow manages to get unique items that are not even at the Tommy store. Kim has an amazing sense of style and Virgil is extremely helpful. Virgil knows me well enough now that when I enter the shop he directs me to all the things he knows I will like and those items he thinks will look good on me. 9 out of 10 times he hits the bulls eye. I love his honesty of what looks good and what doesn’t work for my body. KKS may be located in Ladue at the Ladue Marketplace, but there is no pretentiousness. Just a a good vibe all around. When you’re ready to look good, go check Kim Kuehner Sportswear out.
