It’s Kmart. I’m not sure I’ve ever had an out of this world experience at one. I go in because it’s convenient. I always have hope it will go smoothly. Shopping is easy. It’s the check out that is the issue for me. Slow check out lines, cashiers that don’t seem to give any care for customer service. By the time I leave I swear I won’t be back. But like I said. It’s close to home and has a decent selection of items at a lower price than your average department stores.

This store has just gotten horrendous. Merchandise isn’t in the correct places. They are out of stock of a lot of the items in their ad. The place is a mess. Carts are dirty with paper and trash in them. Workers are rude and not helpful. I saw a cute pair of boots in their ad, they had a BOGO deal. Went to check out was told BOGO didn’t apply to sale items. I pointed out that the ad said only didn’t apply to clearance items. The night manager, her name tag identified, didn’t care. Said this is store policy. So, I did not get the shoes. Ugh what a terrible experience! I almost feel like I need a shower from going there.

Honestly, I generally never shop at Kmart. Mostly, i think because there isn’t one right near my house and because I happen to love Target more. However, I was looking for a TV stand a few weeks back and remembered that there is a stand we bought at Kmart a few years back for another TV in the house and took my chances. Probably shouldn’t have really. The place is really looking it’s age, and that isn’t a compliment at ALL. Place need a scrub down and a remodel badly. Perhaps I’m used to other stores that do not seem jumbled,

Clean, generally helpful if not over-friendly staff, and a great alternative for those of us who refuse to patronize Walmart. Prices are comparable if not better, and sale prices on everyday items are great. Large grocery area & regular clearances. Everyday items(i.e. Health & Beauty) aren’t terribly convenient, though(have to walk through several departments to get to). Worth it, though. Handicapped? This location has LOTS of parking for you!!! Bonus: I get nostalgic for the old Venture that inhabited this building years ago with the aroma of popcorn mixed with synthetic fabrics in the air! **sniiiifffffff**

Kmart has a variety of things for home & garden. You can always find a good sale. Blue light sales are the thing of the past. The restrooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly.

This a nice place to buy drinks(fine! Soda). They usually have(had) sale like $ 10 for 4 packs of ginger ale. Nice!

Good review, Lisa. I also despise Walmart with one billion passions and never go. Target, K-Mart and grocery stores get all my business instead. For KMart specifically, I have never thought it was as bad as Walmart. At least it doesn’t smell like puke inside and at least the shoppers don’t turn into lunatic savages a la Lord of the Flies as soon as they step through the door. Hope K-Mart survives!

Remember Kmart? That store that was always an afterthought, as in «after I go to Walmart, I might stop by?» It had a well-deserved reputation as being dirty and unfriendly, and not worth the time. Well, things have changed, at least for the location on Lemay Ferry. They remodeled earlier this year, and all for the better. It’s clean, you get a really friendly greeting when you walk in, and it’s just a good place to shop. I despise Walmart, and do not go unless it is absolutely necessary, so I need an outlet besides Target for my everyday stuff. I dig the Joe Boxer brand, and they carry Craftsman tools from Sears. Their electronics department is pretty swell, and you can even surf the web at computer stations around the store. It’s less crowded than the other big boxes, and that’s good, but kind of a shame, because I think the big K deserves the business.
