If you read the other reviews around town, Massage Luxe is getting a bad rap about customer service. They really push you to sign up for the monthly membership. I knew this ahead of time and just said no. I was not pressured. I have visited two of the locations so far. This one is my favorite. It appears to be high end, nice interior, modern and clean. The staff is friendly and professional. They have a manager who explains the waiver, shows you to a lounge, offers you water and gives a tour of the place. He also did a great job of explaining how the water bed worked. The water bed is a relaxation bed with high powered jets that fire on your backside after your massage. You wear your clothes for this. It is a relaxing environment with nice calming music. My massage therapist was a 10. Her name is Monica. She has 4 years experience but it seemed like much more. She really knows what she is doing. I have had a ton of massages all over the country and even out of the country in Europe. She is all about firm pressure if that is what you request. She also listens and works on the areas that are of concern to you. She avoids the areas that you ask her to avoid. I would highly recommend this place. I was afraid to go there after reading the reviews but did anyway because I had a gift card. I am glad that I went and plan to go back again soon!

This place is a scam! You don’t even get a good massage. Total waste of money.

Mike does an outstanding job. He basically did real therapy on me over a three month period. Some chronically spasming muscles were released after(literally) 12 months of spasm. I had tried many things including stretching, exercise and even meds for a brief period. In the end, it was deep stretching and Mike’s wonderful work that finally broke the cycle. The one drawback, towards the end of my treatment is that Katie’s Pizza opened next door. During my last massage here, the plates, pots and pans in the kitchen on the other side of the wall were loud, non-stop and disturbing the whole relaxation atmosphere that previously existed at this location. Pity, otherwise a great spot.

MassageLuxe did just fine as a massage salon. I’ll probably stick with Sunflower unless I have a Groupon or such, though. I had a Groupon set to expire at the end of the year, something I suddenly realized yesterday morning. I called MassageLuxe and asked if they had appointments available that day, and they gave me several choices. I arrived a few minutes late, but it was no problem. The receptionist took my Groupon information and introduced me to Angelique, my masseuse. Angelique had me complete some forms and took me back to the massage room to explain the procedure before leaving me to undress. The massage itself was just fine. Angelique confirmed several times that she was using my desired pressure, and she was quite good. My hour massage was actually. 50 minutes, with 10 minutes for dressing/indressing and consultation. After the massage, I headed to the Hydroluxe bed for 15 minutes. It was strange and something that didn’t really do anything for me. Generally, things were fine. MassageLuxe is generally a calm, pretty space full of earthtones and pseudo-natural elements. Both the reception area and the massage room were comfortably warm. There were a few things I didn’t care for, though. MassageLuxe did give off a corporate vibe(it’s a national chain). There were procedures in place that made me feel like just another customer. In the massage room, the music was much too loud. It was that twinkly faux-New Age stuff, which I hate but have come to expect, but it was too loud to be calming. Also, after I had flipped from my tummy to my back, Angelique placed hot towels under my neck and over my head and the top half of my face. This should have been discussed prior to doing so because a customer may have medical reasons for declining or simply might not want to mess up her hair or makeup in that manner. Granted, you may look a bit disheveled after any massage, but you shouldn’t look like you just stepped out of a sauna. Further, while the towels were on my face and I was flying blind, I began to smell a strong eucalyptus scent. I soon realized that Angelique was waving some aromatherapy products over me. Again, this is something that should be discussed first. Fortunately, eucalyptus is one of the few scents my very, very sensitive nose can handle, but had it been nearly any other scent, I may have had a reaction. I need to mention that aromatherapy was NOT supposed to be part of my massage package. The HydroLuxe bed was odd, and I can’t imagine paying for it outright. It was basically a twin-sized waterbed that massaged you with jets, and you get 15 minutes on it. I couldn’t get the jets to go where I wanted — they seemed to go on my sides or around my body instead of straight down my back, no matter how or where I moved. The bed also smelled of rubber, and this room was chilly. It was all pretty pointless. MassageLuxe wasn’t *bad*, per se. It just wasn’t personal enough for me. I may return to MassageLuxe with a Groupon or on a whim, but I’ll likely stick to the personal attention I get at Sunflower, a local business.

Wow, Did that feel great!!! Chad did a wonderful job. And the place was very relaxing. I was able to choose what type of massage I wanted and that was a plus for me. I hate when you can only get rock massage. I much rather have the Swedish Massage. And here you can choose what level of pressure you want. You can even get a membership so that you can get an hour massage for $ 45.00 every month. For me to get an hour of peace and quite plus some relaxation and it only cost me 45.00. It’s a bargain.
