I will say my sandwich was good but service is awful at this location. I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. Paid and even asked if I paid for 2 sandwiches and he said YES!!! Looked in bag. Only one sandwich. Told them I ordered 2 and they preceded to argue with me that I only ordered 1. They were such jerks. Instead of making the other sandwich I ordered they made me wait 20 min. Never go to this Penn Station!!!

The order was not given to me till 20 minutes later. Bad when the food is sitting and no name called. Food was good but no discounts for my time wasted.

I’ve never understood the ratings for chain restaurants. I mean, the only thing you can really talk about is the décor or cleanliness of the place. Most people knock chains cause the food isn’t as good, well no $h*t, it’s a chain, they don’t take their sweet time, you have high schoolers cooking your food rather than trained chefs. Same goes for Chinese buffets, don’t go to them expecting great good. That being said, I myself like Penn Station subs, this particular penn station is no different then the penn station down the street. So many people mention Quiznos, I personally hate Quiznos, but that has nothing to do with that particular restaurant, it’s that I just don’t like what corporate Quizno’s has decided to sell at their establishment. The big difference at Penn Station is that they their subs are hot, their bread is more baguette like(think Jimmy Johns not Subway) and they’re meat is is prepared differently. I like them better than subway cause subway meat just doesn’t taste like quality, but they make a cheap sub. I like them better then quizno’s because I FEEL(own personal opinion) that their sandwiches do a better job of coming together(maybe due to the narrower bread or melted cheese?) to create a better tasting sandwich overall.

I have no clue how all these different sandwich shops stay in business. This one is just like the others… reminds me of Quizonos as they feature hot & toasted sandwiches. My turkey sandwich was fine. Only thing that separates this place from the others is hand cut fries.

Penn Station is my favorite place to get a sub-style warm sandwich. I like this location a lot and have always gotten friendly, fast service. Always. I get the same sandwich every time. I get a small dagwood(create your own). I put on it turkey, provolone, lettuce, oregano, mayo and ask them to add grilled mushrooms… which isn’t on the list of options but I saw it on another sandwich and they’ve never said no. The bread itself is great… white bread is the only option but it has a slightly oiled/buttery top. Yum. I stick with chips, especially when they have Sun Chips, but they have real cut-up a potato fries for those of you that are french fry fans. And they make homemade lemonade… not really my thing but I’m a fan of any restaurant that makes lemonade from real lemons. If you find yourself eating at Subway, Jimmy John’s or Quizno’s, and have never tried Penn Station, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Thank goodness they were open until 10pm on a Friday night. We were able to get our Penn Station fix taken care of even though it was going to be a late dinner. Everyone seems to love the Philly Cheesesteak, but I am an absolute sucker for the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The mix of Dijon mustard and Mayo are a great sauce for the sandwich, and the bread is just the right texture and taste. Oh, and if you’re in the mood, the fries are great! A small size is fine for 1 person. And try the lemonade! It is fresh and particularly good!

It’s a Quizno’s wannabe! «But East Coast subs aren’t toasted, or even served warm!» I hear you cry. Well, there’s no point in letting that get in the way of a business plan. Let the sandwiching commence! There’s one sandwich on the P. S.E.C.S. menu that’s supposed to be served warm, and that’s the Philly cheesesteak. Sadly, Penn Station’s cheesesteak is terrible. If you list the flavors in your cheesesteak from strongest to least noticeable, the steak should be right at the top. At Penn Station, it’s around #4, well behind the bread and the cheese and maybe behind the non-fried onions. If I wanted a mouthful of bread and cheese and non-fried onions, I’d probably be eating pizza. And I’d be eating somewhere other than Penn Station East Coast Subs. To paraphrase Coffee Talk: «Penn Station East Coast Subs is neither East Coast nor Subs. Discuss amongst yourselves.»
