Attended an event and was presented with a prix fixe menu, which consisted of a salad, your choice of either ribeye, salmon, or chicken and served with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and desert. Service here was great the staff was on top of their game ensuring that we had a great meal and a full glass without really getting in the way of the presentation. The food was equally as impressive, I went with the 12oz ribeye cooked medium, and it came out cooked perfectly. The sides were equally as good, however even thought I was never a spinach fan I absolutely loved the creamed spinach. For desert a cheesecake and chocolate mousse was served, both were delicious. Overall Ruth Chris provided an excellent location and meal for a quality presentation.

I know… I know… you’re wondering«How could a Ruth’s Chris Steak House only be rated a 2 star??» I almost can’t believe it myself, but here’s why. In short, for the money paid(and its a lot!), the bar is set higher. Imagine going to a Lone Star and paying $ 45 for the steak, plus extra for the sides and dessert? Just think about that for a moment — because that is how I felt leaving this particular RCSH tonight. I ordered an 8 oz filet, asparagus, whipped potatoes and a cheesecake dessert. In addition, I ordered a Hanna Cabernet($ 31 retail) to accompany my dinner. The filet was requested Medium, but came medium-well. The cut was average at best. My cheesecake was equivalent to a grocery store version. Overall, the meal was not awful, but cmon… at these prices… sorry… the bar is set higher. Oh by the way, this was on the company account too — and I STILL felt ripped off. That should tell you something.

Highly disappointed in the evening. Had made special reservations with request for«our» table to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. After having to call to confirm the reservation since the online reservation service they offer did not even email me a confirmation for the reservation as it said it would. Once I spoke personally to a staff member they assured me that the table requested would be «no problem», I thought it was all straightened out. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The table was given to another party and we were seated in between two other seated tables despite the many other open booths that were more private as I had originally requested. When I asked for a more private table the lady told me this was their best table. WOW, your best table in a restaurant that is maybe 30−40% full is between two other seated tables even when privacy is requested. I left the meal since I did not feel like eating there at this point. When I called back to speak to the manager about the issue I was placed on hold twice. Finally, Nick indicated that he was sorry for the mix up and would be sure to give my daughter a comped dessert for the problems. Still was not impressed since THEYHAVECOMPEDHERDESSERTONHERBIRTHDAYEVERYYEAR. He basically showed me that this is the service to expect at Ruth’s Chris and I am amazed that such a high end restaurant would allow such poor service to pass with just an curt apology that was offered only once I reiterated my disappointment in the handling of this situation.

Impeccable service. Terrific atmosphere. Caesar salad was plentiful and delicious. Amazing bread. Beautiful presentations on all. Shrimp was a bit unexpectedly spicy and overcooked. Some sort of shell piece on it as well. I pointed it out to my server on the plate, but it didn’t seem to be a big deal to him. The steak was amazing. The strawberry shortcake was dry and chewy. Mostly disappointed in my first time here.

This location is a joke. My wife and I had a horrible experience here. Do not go to Ruth’s Chris downtown! Go to the Clayton location if you want good service.

The food was really good and it comes out quick. Delightful environment, quiet and very elegant themed. The service was good but not a wow experience. The filet is a must. We didn’t have to wait to be served; we went around 4:30pm. The cheesecake and breadpudin are incredible. If you visit St. Louis and are close to the arch you should definitely visit.

My fiancé and I dined at Ruth’s Chris this past weekend while visiting St Louis from NYC and it was excellent! We had such a great time, thanks to our server, Erica. She was so friendly and personable and gave us great recommendations and we decided to try almost everything she suggested. For entrees we got the ribeye with the BBQ shrimp app on top and the filet with the blue cheese crust — for an app we tried the calamari(perfect combo of the sweet and spicy) — and dessert we tried the banana cream pie. It was not a disappointment! My fiancé and I are both in our early twenties and sometimes when we dine at restaurants more on the fine dinning side we don’t get treated as equals to the table next to us filled with middle aged men and women — thankfully this was not the case here. Thank you again, Erica! We will be sure to stop in again when visiting St. Louis another time.

I’ll preface this with, «Ruth Chris is a nice establish.» However, it’s highly overrated in terms food options, preparation and presentation. The ambiance of all Ruth Chris location I’ve visited from St. Louis to New York are pretty chic but again; it’s dated in comparison to today’s fine dining restaurants. This location was reopened in recent years and its décor is nice, the private are is offers exclusivity and I admire the beautiful velvet drapes. I recommend the chicken(as I do not eat red meats) and the famous sweet potato casserole is a no brainier. Again, I like Ruth Chris, I also believe it’s time for a facelift.

This was one of the most decadent mouth watering meal I’ve ever had in my life. Started the dinner off with mushrooms stuffed lobster. Which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Then I had a wedge salad. I am a wedge salad snob I love my bacon and I love my blue cheese crumbles. They did an amazing job with the wedge salad. Next I had a 6 ounce filet medium rare of course, with sauteed mushrooms on top. The steak was prepared magnificently it was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life the meal was well worth the price and I cannot wait to come back. The service was also impeccable extremely kind.

Very over priced. My wife’s steak was not cook to the way she asked the first time and she sent it back. When it came back it was flash cooked and still wasn’t done right. Services were very good. But way too much for food that isn’t cooked right.

Been here for special occasions before. The restaurant was conveniently located about a third of a block from where we were staying for the ASMS conference and provided a great change of pace from the down-home food we were mostly binging on. We came for the steaks as a pregame before the hospitality events that night. 22 oz Bone-in Cowboy ribeye with garlic/blue cheese grilled-in crust medium rare. Extremely juicy, cooked perfectly, just absolutely bursting with flavor. It was about $ 60 for my steak which was definitely on the pricier side but oh well — when it’s good it’s good. Awesome stop in St. Louis(even though it’s a chain!)

Over-priced and not that good. I have no problem at all paying top dollar for a meal if the food is great. The meals that we ordered here were good at best. Mostly mediocre. We won’t be back.

This Ruth’s Chris is located in the Hyatt Regency in downtown St Louis. It is a large restaurant with multiple dining rooms. We were seated in a dining room, with a nice view of the Arch out the window, which was pretty cool. They have a good selection of beer(including local craft selection) and wine, with the ‘list’ presented to the table on an iPad for you. As this is a steakhouse, I ordered the ribeye. Sides are ‘family style’ and ordered separately. I ordered the mashed potatoes to round out my meal. Ruth’s Chris gimmick is that they serve their steaks on 500*F. plates so that your steaks stay hot throughout your meal. They came as described sizzling on your plate upon arrival. I normally like my steak to rest to let the juices redistribute, but I will say the steak was cooked well, was flavorful, and indeed stayed hot and delicious throughout the meal. The mashed potatoes were creamy and good, but with a lot of butter. Luckily I love butter, but for some it might have been a little overkill. Overall, this was a good meal at a chain fine dining establishment.

I went here for dinner with other attorneys from my office and our co-counsel from Texas during our trial week. We had a private room with a large flat screen t.v. so we could enjoy watching the College Football National Championship while we ate delicious steak. I had the petite filet, cooked medium rare, with the Lobster«vodoo sauce», which was marvelous. The lobster is glazed in a Sriracha sauce and perfectly tender with a little zip. I also knocked back a few Ketel Ones with tonic. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken breast entrée, which she loved along with cabernet sauvignon. Steak & lobster aside, Ruth’s Chris has the best appetizers and sides. I really mean this. I’ve eaten at many steakhouses during my years in Chicago(Lawry’s, Ditka’s, Kinzie Chophouse, etc.), but those appetizers were perfect. The sweet potato casserole is warm, sweet, and delicious. The Potatoes au Gratin are also excellent. We had a terrific evening at Ruth’s Chris.

The atmosphere is great once you get past the stiffs that think hard work involves watching a plantation while the others do the actual work for them. Look out for the women with so many crows feet and frowns you’d wonder why she’s there fake being rich instead of getting Botox. Oh the Cabernet is great ! Don’t forget the sweet potato casserole, crab cakes or the ribeye ! Oh try the ahi tuna for a starter !!

One of the best steaks ever. Cooked just right and very tasty. Nice place for a romantic dinner with a nice view of the arch. Like all steak houses, it is a bit pricey, but worth treating yourself to. Staff was excellent and the manager even bought us a round of drinks. We were Ruth Chris virgins, will definitely be back!

Love Ruth’s Chris. This is the go-to place downtown for a good steak. I can’t give it 5 stars for steak because that is reserved for Chicago Cut, up in Chicago, but for St Louis? This is as good as it gets downtown. We’ve tried all the others around for the most part, save for Citizen Kane, which I had not tried and is on my list. The reviews about the steak being bland kind of reflects personal tastes I guess. I have never had a bad steak at this location, after eating here 10 – 15 times. The steak is not marinated, it doesn’t have a sauce on top, it doesn’t have some frilly truffles on it. It’s a steak purists steak. Meaning, the flavor is in the meat. They DO put salted butter on top once on the sizzling plate. Butter + perfectly done steak? Yes please. For those of you looking for something other than the taste of meat, try other places that have sauce options. Andria’s in Edwardsville is a great option(and also one of my faves) for a steak with sauce(Sophia Sauce is the best). Last but not least, I’d like to give a shoutout to the creamed spinach, it’s divine!
