They have good collection of spices, lentils, rice, vegetables etc but sure are very rude. Don’t expect any good customer service. I stopped shopping here and found an excellent, more professional store in Kirkwood that I go to now. I found their prices are cheaper too.

seriously, how have I not reviewed this place? whenever I need to get chickpeas, lentils, or bulk spices, I come here. They have giant bags of fennel and cumin for not too expensive! HORRAY! And cinnamon sticks too! I love getting tamarind paste and mango purée here too! Amrita R has a great mango pie recipe that requires a specific brand of purée that they carry here! Also, tamarind paste is the most useful little thing to have around whenever i try to make home made spring rolls! I also love their frozen food! They carry Deep brand indian ‘hotpockets’! Two come for not very expensive and it’s more than enough food for me for lunch! Pair that with some shrikhand(also sold frozen here) and i’m a very happy little Unilocaler! The people are friendly and I pretty much always find what I need! :)

Often end up going here after eating at Gokul and it’s the most comprehensive Indian store I can find in St Louis thus far. I’m Indian and working on learning to cook authentic dishes, but I don’t always know the english or the hindi words for certain herbs, spices, or veggies. The person at the front has always been helpful and directed me to the right items. There’s pretty much nothing that I haven’t found at this place, and it’s very reasonably priced! My fave items: Garlic Pickle(Mother’s recipe brand) — eat a dab of it with every bite of your main meal Alphonso mango pulp(sooo useful in desserts, and delicious as is) Indian veggies(like winter gourd) Limca — a gingery Sprite soda Maaza — lychee or mango, delicious Frozen Parathas or Chapathis(no one can tell it’s frozen, just flip on a pan) Chutneys(Tamarind, green mint) Bourbon biscuits Fried onion bits — great for sprinkling on anything

This is a nice little Indian grocery store located just west of the Gokul Indian Restaurant on Page Ave. You might have a hard time locating it, but just look for Gokul and pop in for a visit after a nice meal. The store has quite a large selection of Indian products in comparison to some of the other Indian/Pakistani grocery stores that I’ve visited in the St. Louis area, and the store is very clean and well organized with a friendly staff. You can find a large variety of spices, grains/rice, fresh produce, frozen and refrigerated items, can and jar items, teas, desserts, music cd’s, dvd movies, incense, soaps and body products. Whether you’re a pro at Indian cooking or just curious to try new things, this is the place to go.
