Sophie’s is a great dive bar. The people there are all regulars, but they treat you like you’re one of them. I’ve only been here four times.
I get high-​fives from strangers during baseball games and others come by just to chat.
The odd yet fantastic thing about Sophie’s is that they always have food there. On each occasion, there’s always been free food that’s been offered to me. Once, a regular came in with a White Castle crave case and walked around making sure everyone got some. He jokingly chastised me when my husband and I only took 2 each. It’s one of those places where the regulars help take the trash out.
It’s dark, and there are a few flat screens for sports, and a side room with pool and other games. The drinks are cheap!
Beware, there is still smoking allowed here. That’s why they get 4 stars, but it really is to be expected at this type of bar.

Sophie’s is one of several neighborhood bars I can walk to/​stumble home from. It’s your typical dive bar-​the bartenders are friendly and the drinks are inexpensive. Karaōke on Saturdays!
