The older man(presumably the owner) took our orders and was very polite and friendly. I ordered the Rebecca and my bf ordered the turkey club. If you dine in, they give you a jar of pickles. idk if they were homemade marinated, but the pickles were extremely crunchy and perfect saltiness. I ate like 3 whole pickles lol. My sandwich tasted awesome – I wanted more of the special sauce they put on it. There was quite a lot of deli meat and worth the $ 9 to me. I’d go here again to try a different order!

I got the Posher… open faced turkey and bacon smothered in cheese. It was a tad overpriced – $ 8 for my sandwhich alone. A downtown Clayton classic, nonetheless. A must if you work in the area. A pass if you’re simply passing through.

This place is such a classic deli, and the menu is HUGE. I like that it has classic deli staples, and that it has that classic new york deli look and feel. The interior is a little cramped but they have a few outdoor tables. The staff are really nice. I got a sandwich and my date got an omelet. The food is a touch pricey — I think, for what you get. I mean, it is good but it didn’t blow me away. I still prefer Pickles Deli to the Posh Nosh.

Two words: lobster bisque. Yes, at a deli. Their regular soups are lobster bisque, matzo ball soup and chicken noodle soup. Today, they also had minestrone. I perused the online menu numerous times before my girlfriend and I came for lunch. Be apprised, there is much more to the menu in the store than what you find online. Order as soon as you walk in the door. Get a red-and-white boat of those delicious pickles, or take a whole crock of pickles to your table. Select a table. They’ll call you to the counter when your order is ready. And that’s when you pay. For $ 5.16, I got a HUGE bowl of incredibly rich and tasty lobster bisque. Had I not been in public, I would have licked the bowl. My girlfriend got the Rachel, as she did last time we were here. We went a little earlier than our previous visit, and parking was more than tolerable. That will be our tactic on our next lunch.

Great sandwich shop with great customer service. Be on the lookout for the groupons. They have them quite often. Well 1st while you’re waiting, you can eat as many complementary pickles as you want!!! It’s a long narrow shaped place located at the edge of downtown Clayton. Hot pastrami 4⁄5 The Kaiser roll was fresh and the meat was juicy and hot. Brownie: 4⁄5 Awesome chewy… so uncake like !!!

The sandwich was good, i enjoyed it. Do I enjoy spending $ 12 on a deli sandwich that doesn’t even come with chips or a drink? Answer: Nope. Prices don’t need to be that high for lunch meat and bread. And for that reason, I’m out.

Posh Nosh is definitely not posh but it’s a decent diner. We stopped in for breakfast and it was good. I got the French toast and my aunt got the pancakes. Not the best I’ve ever had but good enough for me to go back when I’m looking for a quick breakfast. We were the only ones there so we got our food in less than 10 minutes. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

I am in Posh Nosh about once a week if not more. What I enjoy the most about this place is not the food or the drinks(which both are always amazing), I enjoy the customer service you get as soon as you walk in the door. The staff is always friendly, smiling, and helpful. In fact, most of the time as soon as I walk in the door they already know exactly what I want, and that can’t be beat. The food/per $$ ratio is a little imbalanced sometimes, but that is because of it’s location in Clayton. Over all this place is a must.

Good sandwich joint. I am big on local cuisine, and that place does not disappoint. You gotta try their hot pastrami. Food averages about $ 8 and is totally worth it. Also the they sometimes have fresh homemade lemonade which is usually very good. You are also allowed to help ureself to their bottomless pickles(if ure into that) which is a nice touch. I like their food, and I recommend that you check that place out if your in the Clayton area. Heads up, they close pretty early… Peace!

My family stumbled into this place after the place that sells $ 16 pancakes was packed with long waits. The Posh Nosh has breakfast and lunch options. The menu is huge and priced reasonably. The food was phenomenal and fresh. Made with care. The service was excellent, the owner(I think) came out and chatted with us and our kids. Really nice. I highly recommend it

The food wasn’t good, the quantities were small, the names misleading, the salad is just iceberg lettuce and pre shredded carrots, and the service was actually worse than the food. We both got the half sandwiches and side salad. The positives are that the place is cute(but hot inside) and the strawberry lemonade is good(but the majority of the 32oz is ice)…

Awesome sandwiches. One of the best lunch spots in downtown Clayton, easily. Walking in there’s a huge board with all the sandwich listings. It can honestly be a little intimidating for newbies, but the staff is more than willing to offer suggestions and provide assistance for meat/bread/side choices. Fresh meats add wonders. Seating can be a little crowded inside during the rush but that adds to the flavor of an old school sandwich shop(and, hey, as the«oldest sandwich shop» in Clayton old school makes sense). The sandwiches are huge and extremely satisfying. And if you’re not terribly hungry a single sandwich may satisfy multiple meals! Definitely worth visiting on a nice day, grabbing a sandwich, and sitting outside to people watch.

Best sandwiches in St. Louis. I had the Claytonian and my wife had the Brentwood. I wish this place was in my neighborhood because I get a sandwich here everyday for lunch. The sandwiches aren’t cheap, but they have a lot of love in them and are worth the price. The staff also brings you a bucket of pickle chunks to the table and a bucket of sauerkraut(if you want it). That’s right folks, pickle chunks, not slices or spears. The staff was very friendly and full of smiles — they looked like they were happy to be at work! We will be back for lunch before the new year.

The Posh Nosh, on my first go around I used a coupon and thought boy, if I had to pay full prices for the sandwiches with the amount of meat they give, I don’t think I would eat here much. Well turns out they send you coupons on the regular and always have a deal, so you got to eat there now for the fresh wholesome sandwiches they serve. You just may have to get two! Honestly, I am a greedy guy, who always looks for taste, and value in my meals. They have the taste in the sandwiches and with a coupon they have value. I can say nothing wrong about the customer service here, they are good people, good staff all the way around. The appearance of the food is nice, I see it and it makes me want more… the longer I am in there, the more I want to eat, perhaps if I could get a bigger sandwich :) I guess, I am used to other sandwich shops pilling on a bit more meat than they do here, but like I said with a coupon, it seems to be a decent enough deal, besides I shouldn’t eat so much. The taste of the food was very good, they know what they are doing, I plan to go back and try more sandwiches. It has been awhile since I was there, but I believe I had the club sandwich, and it was delicious. You are not going to get full unless you add something with it… well I take that back if you are a big eater like me you want get full without adding more items to your sandwich, like dessert and chips. I notice they have breakfast foods and salads, even gluten free but they upcharge you $ 1 for that. I think they had chili and a few other menu items if I recall. You can’t go wrong with this nice little sandwich shop, after this review I can’t wait to get back there, I have to add them to my list of places to visit again soon.

First things first, how about a round of applause for the name of this place. This place is anything but posh. It is basic, workmanlike deli in the heart of fufu Clayton. That isn’t a knock on this place, it’s a compliment. A good olé’ classic deli should serve simplicity with things such as reuben, pastrami, and hot dogs highlighting the menu. They do that here quite well. You want some avocado, sprouts, & roasted peppers on your sandwich do ya? Well, take a hike, you ain’t getting that here. I ordered the Gobbler, consisting of Gouda and Turkey on bread. So easy, but they nailed it. I like how they provide both deli and regular mustard at each table. I will note they have crappy pepper shakers. I felt like I was exercising with one of those as seen on tv Shake Weights to get enough pepper to come out. I’ll chalk it up to burning a few extra calories at a place I’d be happy to come back to. Posh Nosh Deli– anything but posh, but that’s why I like it.

I was tempted here by a half-off groupon. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price here, and don’t see myself going back. I will give this place credit for atmosphere. The pictures on the wall and framed copy of the original menu give the feel of an authentic deli. If only the food had lived up to the promise. For my lunch, I opted for the turkey rueben, while my boyfriend chose the specially-advertized bison rueben. We also split a potato knish. I did enjoy the bucket of pickles they set on the table. They were fun to munch on while we waited for our sandwiches. My rueben was just okay. The meat was good, but the bread wasn’t marble rye and quickly became so mushy that my sandwich fell apart. Boyfriend’s sandwich, however, had the opposite problem. While my sandwich had the pile of meat you expect from a deli sandwich(especially for what they charge) his had just a few strips of meat. He took it back to the counter to see what the deal was, and he was informed that because bison is a denser meat, you get less volume in the sandwich. Which I somewhat understand, but it seemed absurd that he paid extra for this«special» sandwich and ended up with this pathetic-looking result. Plus, the bison wasn’t even that good! The meat was indeed dense to the point of chewiness, and lacked the characteristic flavor of a rueben. The worst part was the knish. It was presented as a blob of dough and potato in a styrofoam cup that had clearly just been microwaved. My boyfriend took one bite and quickly put his fork down. It really wasn’t a knish at all, just a mushy cup of potato. No thanks.

I remember growing up in New York and going to a place called The Bagel Nosh. It was a Jewish deli that sold sandwiches piled high with tasty goodness. Bagels, treats, salads… you name it. It wasn’t hard to find places like this all over the New York area. I expected something like this at Posh Nosh given a quick look at the menu. Prices are high($ 9 for a sandwich) but you get what you pay for, right? Wrong. Kinda disappointing in the food department. My sandwich was kinda light on the fillings for the price. While the food tasted good, the value is just not there. $ 26 for lunch for 3 people(one of which was a 4yo) should get you some decent food, and maybe some leftovers. For that price, I either expect a waiter, tablecloths, more interesting menu, or larger portions. Small, expensive sammies in a deli for the resulting bill is a bummer in my book. The staff(owner I assume) was beyond friendly and helpful, worth noting.

This place is bursting with character the moment you walk in. Its very inviting and charming. I love love love that they have outdoor seating. I got the Chicago Dog and it was really good I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I also tasted the Hot Pastrami and that was amazing. I wish they had better hours because they close fairly early during the week and the weekend. Besides that this place offers a large variety of lunch specials and they even offer breakfast. I will be coming back for the breakfast next time. Oh my and you better have a Dillon’s Cherry soda because its the best!
