Today was the first time to visit The Teachers’ Lounge. The store is packed with good stuff for the classroom. The staff was not only friendly and helpful, but they were also professional and polite. I certainly will return to stock up for the coming school year. I haven’t checked out their online component, but as it seems like most of the store is geared towards elementary school supplies, online may be the way to go. Apparently they’ll have items delivered to the store location free of charge.

Love this place! Very friendly and helpful staff. Even when there is a problem, which is very rare, they are quick to resolve the issue! They also have a precious kids play area, which makes shopping with kiddos so much more pleasant. In response to T.W. I’ve laminated many times with The Teachers’ Lounge and have never had an issue. It sounds like they were really willing to help resolve and make up for the issue, which in my book is very unusual for a store like this.

This place is the best discovery I’ve made in a long time. You know when you’re a kid and you wonder what goes on in the teacher’s lounge? This store is nothing like that. But it’s still awesome, at least if you’re one of those adults who has fantasies about shopping sprees at Office Max. Don’t let the name fool you– this store isn’t just for teachers. Sneak in for amazing art supplies, toys, games, whatev. A little weirdly organized, but the staff’s helpfulness by far made up for it. I was shocked by how much assistance I received. They didn’t just insincerely offer me help. They offered me help, actually knew the answers to my questions, and were able to look it up when they didn’t know. Shocking. The very specific thing I needed wasn’t in stock, but they ordered it for me. Amazing! And teachers, for every hundred dollars of your measly paycheck you spend here, you get ten dollars off. And you don’t even have to keep track of those stupid punch cards– they do it in the computer. This store gets an A+. The only thing preventing it from being 5 stars is that it is pricey, but still way cheaper than Bradburn. Better than Bradburn in every single way. I will never ever ever ever everrrrrrrrrr go to Bradburn again. My hatred of Brandburn is independent of this store, but going here makes me feel more justified in hating them, because this place rules. Nobody loves a teacher’s pet. Except the teacher… This place? Teacher’s pet. 8⁄10 Edited: Whatever you do, do NOT have anything laminated here. It is way cheaper than Office Max, yes. They claim their lamination is thicker. But it was horrible. Seriously. They destroyed several irreplaceable things that I brought in and just shrugged it off and said they wouldn’t charge me for it. Ummmmm thanks… but you just destroyed literally HOURS of work. I get that shit happens, but they were really careless. Also, I asked them to piece things together to minimize the cost, but they spread them out. They charge per foot soooooooo… Finally, the quality of the pieces is awful. They are all bent and curled and wrinkled and bunched up and impossible to use. I’m extremely pissed. If this review were based on lamination it would be zero stars. So just don’t get any laminating done here. It’s a great store otherwise.

Ok, I’m not a teacher, but I have enough of them in my life to spend a substantial amount of time in these teacher stores… therefore, I think I know what’s good… and I certainly have gotten a fair understanding of what to look for when it comes to quality and price. This store is great. They have all the same stuff as Bradburns, it’s the same price as Bradburns, but you don’t have to drive all the way to Bradburns. Also, this store is really cute. The whole layout is cute, and they have a lot of fun little items to get for your classroom you would never even think of… things like adorable magnets, tons of pens, paper, posters, and other supplies… just what you expect from a teacher supply store. This store is a little better than Bradburns to me, though. Here’s why, they have a whole section on their website about dealing with kids with learning disabilities, autism, and other really interesting points. They also have the teacher support system, which is great. It’s like a laid out planner for new teachers to help them. I have many friends that would have loved to have that in their corner their first year or so of teaching. They also have the Lizard Lounge club where you can get a bunch of extra discounts and announcements.
