I lived at University Meadows for a year (2014 – 2015) while attending UMSL. I chose Meadows because I wanted to be close to school. I could walk to class in less than 10 minutes, or take the bus or bike there in 5 minutes. A Metrolink stop is less than half a mile away. I shared a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate. The bedrooms are really small, but I loved that we each had our own bathroom. My rent was $ 563. My monthly electric bill, including heat and air conditioning, ranged from $ 15 (in October) to $ 51 (in December). Wi-fi is free. Maintenance was outstanding. If something in my apartment needed to be fixed, I put in a maintenance request on the Meadows website and it was fixed in less than a day. Dana, the assistant manager, Mike, the manager, and all the students working at Meadows were kind, helpful, and professional. If living close to UMSL is important to you, in my experience Meadows is a good choice.

Attn to all students considering University Meadows: It is not as it seems. Unless you have a scholarship that will pay for it, it is not worth it. Looks very nice on the outside but the inside is small and outdated. They did not clean my apartment before I moved in, which I do not think is normal for them but it still attributed to my less than memorable experience. The Internet that is included is extremely slow, so I would recommend factoring in an internet bill to your monthly expense. I have been trying to get my dishwasher fixed that never worked from day 1. It is now November 1^st and have yet to have a guy know how to fix it. I did enjoy the convenience of on site laundry, I will say. All in all, seriously think about it before you sign the lease here. For what you are paying, the cost cannot be justified for what you get in return.

the meadows id an absolutely horrid place to live the staff are rude and condescending. the staff never does anything on time. they have stolen my packages and tampered with my mail. i have received threats of physical violence from the staff and manager himself. when i moved in my unit it was covered with mold and i have service requests that have been in since august, it is currently may… this is ridiculous… i cant wait to move out
