Office Depot is a massive store. .. especially when all you want is correction fluid. I walked in, wandered for a brief 30 seconds before a wonderful sales associate asked if I needed help. I said«Liquid Paper.» I think that’s what it used to be called in the day. But he got the gist, took me to the place and showed me the offerings and left to let me decide what I wanted. I thought that was terrific. There do seem to be a lot of offerings in the correction fluid territory. I was amazed there were so many offerings. This is not a monumental, life-changing decision. .. so I pulled a two-pack of BiC Extra Coverage Correction Fluid off the metal holder. Walked up to checkout. The person in front of me was just finishing. I got it for $ 4.31. The checkout guy was great. I paid in cash. I declined a bag. Done and done. I should have done it sooner. I have needed correction fluid for a long time. The last time I used the container I had, it came out of the vessel like marshmallow crème. .. not exactly helpful.

As with the other Office Depot locations I’ve visited, the sales staff seemed to be graded on attentiveness to customers — especially as noted in the other review. This location feels a bit small, but had everything that I needed. I had a fun conversation with Barb at the register when I checked out. While the staff were attentive, they weren’t pushy about getting me to buy anything, or trying to upsell me on anything. I tend to favor Office Depot over Staples and Office Max. I find the pricing to be generally better. Office Max is probably the opposite of Office Depot, in terms of the attentiveness of the sales staff, and ironically it costs more — fewer employees and higher prices … go figure.

I am sure that they have an excellent selection — the same as every other Office Depot. However, the atmosphere of this store is kind of scary. We stepped in the door, and the cashier yelled really loud, «WHATBRINGSYOUTOOFFICEDEPOTTODAY? WHATCAN I HELPYOUFIND?» I wanted to say, «Uh, none of your business. We’re looking for stuff.» It felt very aggressive, but that was only the start. Before we walked 20 feet, three more sales associates tried to «help» us. We were looking at printers, but were afraid to pause in front of one because the sales associates were milling around like sharks in a tank. One guy kept walking back and forth near us, looking like he was trying to listen in our on conversation. We didn’t want to make eye contact with anyone, or slow down in any department. On the way out, I paused to look at a Cardinals coloring book in a bin. As soon as I touched it, a sales associate appeared out of thin air to ask if I needed help. It’s a coloring book so, no, I think I can handle it, thanks. I will not go back to that location again — I just didn’t feel comfortable looking around, browsing, and making up my own mind. They just wouldn’t take«no thank you» for an answer. I felt like I was at a used car lot.
