Brother/​Sister Duo Matt and Alena have teamed up to highlight St. Petersburg in one of the most creative and beautiful ways imagined. Shopping local just took on a whole new meaning. MASH was sparked by Alena’s eye for great photography combined with Matt’s business sense and natural ability to be a hunky model. MASH offers apparel that emphasizes our beautiful city in a way that’s not cheesy or touristy. Instead it’s beautiful and hip, pleasing locals and visitors alike looking for wearable art.
I first saw one of their shirts at a Unilocal party in November and excitedly asked where he got it. He told me his friend Matt had started producing and selling out of his Dad’s shop, Shapiro’s, on Beach Drive. I exclaimed, «I know exactly where that is!» I’m always looking to support local business and brag about my city, this is a great way to do both. One of my family members will be receiving a bright green shirt featuring the down town sky line for Christmas!
