Wilson’s Sports Lounge

Stopped in here on a Friday night to meet a friend. I dont at all have a problem with the service but definitely not my kind of crowd or bar for that matter. The level of smoke at this place is unreal. My eyes were freaking burning when I left. I would think they would have aome type of ventilation if allowing the entire bar to smoke. The table we were sitting at was so wobbly it was almost ready to fall over. It was karaōke night when we went. Again, very interesting. Apparently everyone wanted to sing sad depressing songs all night. Not my type of place at all. If you can take the overwhelming smoke and very interesting crowd go for it. The drinks were pretty cheap at least.

I was looking for something different than a regular bar downtown St. Petersburg. I end up at Wilson’s Sports Lounge. I stood at the bar for about 4 – 5 minutes waiting patiently. I finally asked a bartender, «Excuse me, Are you working» as she walked by. The bartender stopped dead in her tracts and said, «No I’m just standing here.» I got annoyed because she said it in a rude and sarcastic way. I replied back and said, «I’m sorry, but I have been standing here and know one acknowledge me.» She asked for my I.D. and proceeded to ask me what I want. She act like was acting like I was aggravating her. I ignored that and I mentioned to her that I wasn’t a drinker and would like for her to recommend a sweet drink for me. She turns around and and make a drink. I polity ask what kind of drink was it. She replied back with it’s $ 7.50. I handed her money and reached out so she could put back in my hand but instead she my money on the table. I told her thank you and she walked off. I quickly drunk my drink and got the heck out of there and didn’t leave a tip. I think the set up of the bar was really nice but it was filled with the scent of cigarettes. My hair smelled really bad after leaving that place that I had to wash my hair. The drink that I had was pretty good but the bartender that I had I encounter with must’ve had a bad night cause she was really rude to me.
