Nice location, good bar set up, nice vibe, great to have open-air place. Food was ok, nothing great but not terrible either. Service is terrible at the bar. Bar tender does not communicate and has a chip on his shoulder, no clue why. Waited more than 10 to even order a drink, had to ask for silverware to eat dinner, asked 3 times for a glass of water, etc.

I love this place! I usually get the spicy sautéed calamari and the margherita pizza. You should come here whenever time isn’t permitting because the wait can be a little much but usually no more than 30 – 45 minutes.

We’ve been going here for years… Did they change hands? Ordered spicy calamari for appy and napolatana pizza. Never got the appy and the pizza was like Elio’s frozen pizza! Sooo disappointing. I think I’ll start going to Lugano’s where the food is good and the service is GREAT!!!

Awesome food and beverages. Small interior but Italian food was delicious and closer to authentic then most places. Beverages are quality! Highly recommend.

As a bartender myself I understand the struggle of being tired or just annoyed. However, I don’t quite understand why the bartender should be on his phone while a customer is asking for drinks, after asking for Ketel One and getting Belvedere without the olives I requested I decided to grab my tab and leave. the lack of attention in this place is just too much! won’t never recommend it.

When my fiancé and I came here they had Casablanca playing on the projector. I ordered pasta and it was delicious. Also the assortment of mozzarella was tasty.

I’ve been coming here for years for lunch/dinner and it’s always good. The place is little small but when the weather is nice I like siting out on the patio. Never had a problem with service and the food is great… I don’t think I ever ordered something I didn’t like. I recently went here for Sunday brunch for the first time and loved it! The all you can drink deal($ 13 for 2hrs) is probably one of the best in Stamford. You can actually taste the alcohol and the servers/bartender take notice when it looks like your table needs a re-fill(!) instead of avoiding your table like most places would during a busy brunch time. I was raving to my co-worker about this brunch and can’t wait to back. ZAZA is also a great after work spot for some wine and tapas.

Love love Zaza. White sangria is amazing; lamb chops are perfectly charred. Great atmosphere.

Have been to zazas many times for drinks but ate their last night for my anniversary and loved it. We of course tried the butternut squash gnocchi, but it was very sweet so be prepared. We also tried the mussels, and mozzarella bad which were amazing! And topped it off with one of he freshest cannolis I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend. It’s a fun, young atmosphere!

I’ll keep it short and sweet. Came down for brunch on a Sunday morning to sample their $ 13 all you can drink for 2hrs bloodys, bellini’s and mimosas. How can you pass up something like that? Ended up sitting out back on the patio because it was super nice out. Highly recommended if you can get a seat out there. If you’ve never been to Zaza then prepare to get overwhelmed by the basic menu because the literally have everything. We decided on going with the brunch menu because I was in the mood for some eggs Benedict. Bottom line — one of the best eggs Benny I’ve ever had. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes had a nice soft center with a crispy outside and it was paired with a nice side of greens. Hollandaise sauce was on point too. 3 bloodys later and I was 100% satisfied. Definitely going back.

I love the ambiance of this place. With the red lighting it definitely has a cool vibe to it. We started out with the butternut squash gnocchi which I highly recommend. We each got our own pizza as our entrée and I will say that the pizzas are slightly too large for just one person. We got the burrata, the prosciutto arugula, and a sausage pizza. All were delicious but my favorite would have to be the prosciutto. For dessert I ordered the blood orange sorbet which was fantastic. Not too sweet and two scoops, so just enough. The service was good and I would definitely go here again(but maybe get just one pizza for two people, or two pizzas for three).

Absolutely love this place! The food is fantastic, specially any of the seafood dishes. The service is great, the staff really takes care of you and is very attentive. I really like the décor, it’s sophisticated but not stuffy. A good spot for a romantic date or taking people from out of town. There’s plenty of parking in the public parking lot, which is a 2 minute walk from the restaurant. Overall, amazing food, great wine list, and good service.

Zaza was a favorite for years, but has went downhill recently — I will not return. While the food is usually tasty, service has been slow/poor on my last few visits, the restaurant does not accommodate basic requests, and I have found the prices to be too high for the portions provided. For example, on Tuesday I asked for Chicken on a Cobb Salad and was charged $ 8 extra(yes, a $ 25 Cobb with maybe 4 ounces of Chicken!). My friend asked for any-vegetable instead of the side of pasta included with his meal and they refused to accommodate without paying full price for a side of vegetables on the menu(how hard is it to make such a simple substitution to accommodate a customer’s diet? 99% of restaurants accommodate simple changes with a smile). We spoke to the manager and he was smug and non-apologetic — he did not even have the courtesy to say«I’m sorry you were unhappy» — he had a take-it-or-leave it approach stating they charge for everything extra and don’t offer substitutions, implying we were being difficult or unreasonable rather than taking a customer-oriented approach. In the future I will select a restaurant that offers better service and flexibility… there are too many choices in Stamford to return to Zaza given recent experience.

Very good food for a decent price. The atmosphere was interesting, where they play a bunch of old black and white movies with some club music.

One of the best Italian restaurant in Stamford. Brussels sprout with honey truffle was amazing! We end up getting second plate! Lobster ravioli was decent amount of meat and great sauce. My colleague very like their black spaghetti with seafood.

Really nice décor. Red leather seats, fancy chandeliers and an old movie projection in the background. Finished off with grayscale pictures of Italy ! Perfect for a date night. Also a pretty decent selection of drinks. Service was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the carbonara which came with the traditional bacon bits and a twist of crunchy very well flavored mushrooms. Bacon bit sizes were huge so that was definitely a plus ! Sauce was very flavorful so I really enjoyed my meal. I will definitely recommend trying this place out if you’re in the area !

ZAZA is THE go-to brunch place in Stamford; the brunch menu allows you to just go for drinks(2 hour unlimited drinks for $ 13) or allows you to add in an entre/appetizers(which range between $ 8.5-$ 16.5). Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-3:00pm. I love the fact that they have an entire weekend brunch; it’s great to not have to solely plan on a Sunday! My friend and I showed up on a Saturday afternoon(about 1:00pm) – it was PACKED, luckily there was only two of us, so we got to sit at the bar immediately. We ordered the drink special and split a brussel sprout appetizer(which has honey and almond and was perfectly crunchy); later we also split a gnocchi chicken pesto dish, which was great(except for the chicken… could’ve done without it). TL;DR: Looking for a weekend brunch? Look no further. Fairly good prices and the food is decent. I like that they didn’t rush us to order drinks and that the food was brought out quickly after ordering it. Would definitely be back for brunch!

Went for lunch during restaurant week. Tried their restaurant week special which provided me a salad, appetizer and entrée all for $ 20(great value IMO). Salad was salad — need I say more? Appetizer I chose was the meatball variety plate. HUGE fan of these. Great flavor and spice. Entrée was the margherita pizza which was excellent! Brick oven thin crust. Great flavor and size. Would definitely go back to try some of the other pizzas. On top of the excellent food the service was just as good. Always checking on me and cleaning up my table.

So the food of ZAZA is 5 star worthy. I ordered this seafood dish in a rose sauce that was out of this world delicious. My boyfriend’s family loved their dishes as well and there was NOTHING left. They usually have a doggie bag but this food was too good to take home. Everything was demolished right then and there. Why three stars? — The service. The service was just plain bad and toward the end, just plain aggravating. What was a wonderful dining experience an hour or so before was painful as we were itching to get out. Our server/servers were playing tag team but it wasn’t clear if we could order from one or both. Ordering drinks was a chore, though they were attentive at refilling the water glasses. I remember I wanted to order a cocktail but the server never came back. Our food came out quickly and hot but then we sat with empty plates, waiting for someone to bus out table. My group wanted dessert and told a different server who came by, asking if there was something she could get us. «Dessert menus,» my boyfriend’s dad said. Fifteen minutes later, our other server came by asking what he could get us. Um, we are waiting for dessert menus. We finally get the menus and our server disappears again. The lady server is now helping other tables. Where can we order our desserts? What’s going on?! Can I also get some coffee? Strange. It may have been an off night, or maybe our server was slammed with other tables and he forgot he had our table outside. Either way, I expected staff that were attentive when his table wanted to order more food.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff! Love everything about this place. Beautiful décor overlooking the hustle and bustle of downtown Stamford. A true gem. Just had half-priced wine last night(Monday) and tapas at the bar with friends. Deff try the spicy pork ribs, butternut squash gnocchi and any of the pizzas… so good! Also appreciate the wonderful staff. After being insulted at another downtown eatery Zaza’s staff took us in and showed us a great evening. Between here and dolce Cubano I’m not sure where to go next!
