We actually came to the Bear Trap Lounge connected to the restaurant. The restaurant will be open again in February, but the bar is open. Nice spot! Good prices. Happy Hour 4 – 8 daily!

Loved this place! Well worth the money, and decently priced at that. We tried the gumbo, onion rings, and Caesar salad. All quite delicious classics served remarkably fast. Very friendly and attentive service and they validate parking. Highly recommended!

Went for a drink at the bar, only two beers on tap but both were great localish brews. Our bartender Michael was excellent and we are quite sad he won’t be back during the rest of our stay. He was incredibly friendly and provided great service.

My wife and I acquired a week in The Ridge Resorts about a year ago. We thought we would have our first visit as new owners happen on our 20th wedding anniversary. Among the many amenities offered at this multiple-building resort is the main Clubhouse. The second floor is a big, open, warm, ski-lodge inspired space that is the Hungry Bear Restaurant and Bear Trap Bar. It’s kind of retro in feel, but updated in appearance. Very comfortable and inviting. To the point. We were informed that the restaurant is only open on Wednesday and Thursday this week,(I’m sitting, stuffed, in our condo as we speak) so if we planned on dining at the resort during our visit, it is recommended to make reservations. We had seating at 7:30 on Wednesday, 9/17)14. We had heard nothing but good about the place and we were not disappointed! I had the steak and lobster and my wife had the trout dish with Langostino hash. It was one of the few broiled lobsters that I have had in years that was properly cooked. The steak was a perfect medium-rare and was of high quality, served with a delicious reduction. The trout was moist and delicious. We had met our server, Lyla, earlier in the week, as she is the bartender several days a week. She and her supporting staff made sure our needs were met or exceeded. Great experience. Beautifully prepared food and impeccable service. This is a tablecloth, white-apron restaurant. Several other reviewers noted the high prices. For this level of food preparation, service and atmosphere, it’s very appropriately priced. If you like calamari, get the appetizer. Lightly breaded rings, cooked just through, lightly crispy and tender. Delicious. We can’t give a higher recommendation. They made our 20th anniversary dinner one to remember! Thanks guys!

Went to dinner for wife’s birthday. Everyone was super friendly and the chef even cry out to have a little conversation and gave his recommendations. Added a great personal touch that you don’t normally get at even fancier restaurants. The server wasn’t really up to snuff, she forgot the appetizer but comped it in the end so that balanced out her forgetfulness. Overall great experience just sad that they have such limited hours and days they’re open. You have such a captive clientele on the mountain would be nice to have a high end lunch place.

My wife and I are owners at the Ridge Tahoe and have come to really enjoy having a high-quality dining option right here near our unit. The menu is not quite as elaborate as you’d get at a top-end steakhouse, but there is always at least one steak, one chicken, one fish, and one vegetarian option, and it’s always crafted to respond to what foods are in season. It’s always of high quality and the service is very friendly and responsive. I do not know if the restaurant is open to people who aren’t guests of the resort. I do know that almost every Friday and Saturday we can’t eat there, because the space is booked for private parties(usually weddings) so regular dining is only going on typically two days a week. This should tell you something — the space is nice and the food is good.
