Fushimi Japanese Restaurant

My favorite Japanese restaurant on the island! Great food, decent prices, excellent service.

So we came here last night. Made reservations and we were seated quickly. We ordered pork and vegetable gyoza. They were tasty. Rock shrimp were on point. And then we all got sushi. I kelps it simple with California Rolls and shrimp tempura and my friends did all different types of rolls which they were all satisfied with. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because of the service. Our waitress was rude. She would make faces as we were ordering. My girls would ask her for suggestions and she would answer very rude. My girls came from NJ and I have to say I was embarrassed that we were all treated so poorly. I could have went anywhere and I came here for the ambience, the food and good service. Good service is not something we were given. They of course were very stingy on the tip part. Me? I gave her more then 20 percent of which she did not deserve but she did bring out the food for us and I thought maybe she was having an off day but then when I left I saw that she was laughing and smiling with 2 other tables. I just didn’t get it. I thought we were just as nice. I guess not. Well nonetheless we will not be returning here

I love the atmosphere but I guess the saying of «never eat sushi on Mondays» is true! Everything seemed fishy, yes it’s fish but it was fishy fish! The service was ok but considering it was lunch and there was only 3 tables they shouldn’t have been so Mia

I Have Been Here For Birthday’s a Few Times and I have to say it was outstanding
They made you feel so welcomed and they made the Birthday extra Special.
The food is Fantastic and the prices are great.
I will definitely be returning

The food was incredible, I was seated promptly. Our appetizers came surprisingly fast. The shredded duck was amazing. The lobster was so succulent! Staff was swell & polite :)

I went this place last night and the price is higher than other Japanese restaurant. Food is good severs are good.

Had my birthday here, great service, good food, accommodating staff, the manager was super nice and gave out some gifts to take home, I would definitely come back here again.

I still feel like I was raped by Susi thugs after eating in this place 24 hours ago. The drinks were way overpriced for Sl and the food portions were also small for the price. It was good don’t get me wrong but I would never take my wife just my girlfriend. Expect to drop $ 150 for two with drinks

They should call this place fun-​shimi. All bad puns aside, I was fairly happy with the drinks on the menu, though the bartender was slow when she was there and absent the other half of the hour and a half I dined here. If this fushimi’s is related to the one in Bay Ridge they did a good job of maintaining an individual vibe and yet showing some similarities in the aesthetic features. It wasn’t too crowded and all the relevant games were on.

Not a fan of this place. Not a large variety of special sushi rolls, limited menu and way overrated. Has a nice décor, though. I’ve had much better sushi at other places for cheaper.

Went here a couple weeks ago, nice place, service was good and food was pretty good.

The quality of the food is sort of lacking and the menu isn’t anything to rave about. The service could have been better and overall everything is a few dollars over priced. I would not vote returning.

Beautiful décor, kind waiters, and delicious food. I went here with my family. We had a great time but we left pretty hungry! they charged extra for spicy mayo without informing us and when we wanted our change back they gave large bills so we can tip more. Not right.

Highly rated and highly priced. This is a nice place for a special occasion. The food is great. I personally like the Chilean sea bass in xo sauce and the risotto seafood. They have special nights for vodka tastings or sake tastings. The desserts are equally good. Service is on par with the food and all in all a nice restaurant experienc. We save fushimi for special times.

From the outside, you wouldnt think its as nice as it is inside. The décor is very sheik, I almost felt like I was at a Japanese restaurant in the city. This is a great place for a date night or a dinner with the family.
The service is very friendly, and they are not on your case to order and get out. They let you be and take your time. The food is very delicious and fresh and served beautifully.
The only complaint, the parking is horrible. If your not there at the right time then you may have to circle a bit.
Overall great experience and I definitely recommend this spot!

I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are getting lunch because their special is roughly 12 bucks for a 5 course meal.

Absolutely Love this place! My boyfriend and I went here on our first date and have been coming back ever since. Birthdays, anniversaries, date nights, parties… and I even got engaged here!
The ambiance and food are the best parts of this restuarant and though service can equally make or break your experience, the first two always keeps us coming back for more, especially since we have never had an issue with service. The atomosphere is very relaxing and dim. The décor is modern and clean, even the bathrooms! I also have a slight obsession with all things Asian, so I might be bias when it comes to the décor, haha. They also have an outside seating area if I am correct but I have never sat out there. They have a wide variety of seating, meaning circular booths for larger groups, and then a whole side area that can be put together for a party, which they did for us when we got engaged that night.
The food can be pricey but no more expensive than that of its counterparts. If you are looking to be cheap, cheap, than this place isnt for you. Every time we have gone, our bill is in the range of 40 – 80 $, more if its a big occasion. Not unreasonable if you ask me and certainly not high enough to deter me from coming here. More importantly, the food has always been fantastic. We alawys start with edamame, sake and some sort of seaweed salad, and then my must have is their goat cheese. Its to die for!
The worst part of this restaurant in my opinion, is the parking lot. It sits at a weird corner and the parking is cramped, if you can even find a spot. The first time we went we actually parked in the CVS lot across the street. Then we realized they do have Valet and that kind of lessens the blow of the lot situation.

I went here for a get together with an old friend and this was their restaurant of choice. I still stand by my old review how their basic sushi rolls are terrible but the only reason I’m adjusting my review was based on the customer service we experienced. I believe the waitresses name was Sauki (I’m so sorry if I completely messed up her name, I do believe that was what it said on her name tag but I could be wrong). I have never had a waitress that professional and attentive. She made this to be one of our most plesent dining experience that I’ve had in a very long time, espically on Staten Island.
We did get the sashimi and sushi delux for two and the fish was super fresh and they didn’t go crazy on the rice which was good. Really enjoyed that. Warm chocolate cake for desert was also outstanding, highly recommend trying that.

Fushimi takes pride in their food. The presentation is beautiful and food tastes good. The ambience is pretty, this is a popular place to take a date. It’s also a nice place to celebrate your birthday. If you buy an individual cake for the birthday person it comes with a sparkler on top. They offer valet parking in a small lot in front of the restaurant but it does fill up. Parking down one of the side streets, especially the one with the light is best.

If you’re looking for an elegant lunch (not in a box!) where you’ll be serve with 4 – 5 course for $ 13 – 15. This is the place.
