I’m not much of a sushi eater so I go here just for the ramen which is actually pretty good. It’s the only place I know on Staten Island that serves ramen so it’s good for a local noodle fix.

(Written by Cora Lynn — 9 yrs old) Came for the Ramen, which isn’t easy to find in Staten Island. It was delicious. Pork belly buns were delicious too. My Mom and Dad ordered some sushi after really enjoying the sashimi appetizer. They said the sushi was excellent too. The ramen was awesome. Perfect for a cold, snowy day.

Came in at night, completely empty. The lady I spoke to was rude and seemed like she did not care at all. Having gluten intolerance, I asked if there was a substitute to the wheat based udon, and the lady said the udon was made of rice. I was really surprised at this because udon is not rice based and is wheat based. I assumed that there is a rice substitute that they use in the store and ordered the dish. Order comes, and lo and behold, it is the wheat udon and not the rice based substitute. The lady assures me that this is rice so I decide to take a leap of faith because she seemed like she knew what she was talking about so I go ahead and eat it. I come home and have a skin reaction that normally happens when I have gluten, and this is the only food I’ve eaten for the past 5 hours. Stop lying to your customers and learn what your food is made of. Not coming back ever.

Walked in on a Tuesday night & the place was completely empty. Upon entering I noticed the sushi chef sleeping on the back table only to spring up once he heard the door open & scamper behind the sushi counter. Very unprofessional. Place had a weird smell too almost like a fish tank odor. The food here is average at best. While the fish was fresh, the taste was lacking somewhere on the rolls & the yellowtail Sashimi was a bit too thick for my likings. Also found a tiny piece of plastic in one of the rolls however we were told it was part of the king crab. I disagree but whatever. Server was friendly & attentive . Overall, there are MUCH better places to get sushi on Staten Island.

I went here just for RAMEN! It’s the only place on Staten Island that has ramen. Remember to ask for the Ramen menu! I thought for what it’s worth, it’s not that bad for a ramen-fix although there were some missing ingredients(such as seaweed). They seriously should consider just being a Ramen house since there’s absolutely no need to serve sushi with so many sushi places nearby. Overall, good ramen. Don’t expect this to be Ippudo or Momofuku type, but it does the job.

I’ve been here a couple of times and would recommend it. The prices aren’t too bad and they also have a full bar if you are going for drinks as well. I’m not a huge fan of the spicy tuna roll, I felt it was a little too mushy. I had a Snow-Tini which was a coconut sake martini and it was really good. They have some of the best shrimp shumai in SI. I would recommend the sushi lunch special; you get soup or salad, 1 appetizer, and 2 rolls.

Definitely my favorite sushi place on Staten Island. The prices aren’t bad and the sushi is fresh. They have a red miso clam soup that is out of this world. Favorite soup and great sushi!

So I went to Nori Sushi because my friend told me that they now serve RAMEN! I was so hyped to find a staten island place with ramen. I did not order any sushi so I cant say anything about the sushi. However the ramen is decent, not bad for staten island. Pork belly was gross though dont get it. The gyozas were good, they tasted like legit chinese dumplings. The hamachi kama was also really good because it was grilled. Overall I like and would go back!

They do Ramen now. Ask for the separate Ramen menu. Tonkatsu comes with great broth and two pieces of pork. Very very respectable. Unbelievable somewhat real ramen on Staten Island! Miso cod still great. Rock shrimp is bad.

Okay, so I will retract my previous review of nori and say that this place is amazing. When they added ramen to their menu, it was done and over. I used to hate going to this place because of the prices, but for higher class sushi, this is considered cheap. The ramen is great and it comes out fast. I almost eat here 3 times a month. For a staten island ramen house, it beats out some of the other ramen that i’ve had in the city. GOODJOBNORI.

If you want ramen but want to stay in Staten Island this is the place! Spicy miso was delish! The egg though. I like mine soft boiled but they have it hard boiled. The amazing 55 was hmm amazing! The spicy salmon with crunch was great too. The only down side is that they don’t have a private parking lot. And at certain times it’s really hard to find parking.

Solid selection, good value w/lunch specials, ease of ordering for pickup and prompt, efficient delivery service. Rolls are well-portioned and put together nicely. Sushi and sashimi are consistent and satisfying. I’ve not eaten inside the restaurant, so I have no insight about service or ambiance. Parking can be a little tricky, but not impossible. You can also be green and get there with SIRT – there’s a station stop right on the corner of Nori’s block.

Quick review: There are many all you can eat sushi places on the island, but what makes this one different is the atmosphere and, well, it’s not all you can eat. On the overall rating of this establishment, it gets a high rating. The place was empty except for another couple which means either no one likes it here or it was late. We ordered the gold rush, another unknown specialty roll, and two ordinary sushi rolls(chicken tempura and spicy shrimp roll). Yes. My date and I are not crazy sushi eaters. Food was prepared nicely, and staff was as friendly as they can be. They are not as as friendly as another place I normally go to(and has slightly cheaper prices) Bill came to $ 45.20 for 4 rolls, edemame and a club soda.

Another sushi location in staten island Iv been meaning to try… This place is pretty decent… Extremely empty… I did two walk ins and a dine in but never really ordered anything here… haha …And all those times… It felt like I was dining here all by myself… It’s a nice… good size for a sushi place… I wonder if the food was any good since it was so empty… I finally took the chance and went inside… Viewing the menu I ordered two rolls… the 55 and spicy tuna… then a hibachi… hibachi was not on the menu… I asked and they made it… The hibachi came with a salad… The Salad was quite dense… The hibachi kinda sucked… no side sauce and the chicken was a little bit too dry… the veggies was bland… The sushi was yummy… What saved my meals was the awesome rolls… very tastefully and unique… Might just come back for the sushi… take out sushi that is… Service was extremely slow… even though I was the only person here it shouldn’t be slow… I had to keep telling her to give me a refill. while the lady kept on staring at me eating my lunch… I would think see is on her game on good service… I was wrong… I had to keep repeating what u said… She didn’t bring any types of sauces for my hibachi or even recommend it… Hibachi always comes with sauces… I should not be asking… One thing that really freaked me out with the waitress was her extremely long pinky nail… Like three inches long…

Ive had Nori in house and take out many times. I def prefer coming in and eating. The place is really elegant but small and is decorated beautifully. All the way to the back is where the sushi bar is. This place is not like the hip other places. They are about the food! We sat down and was immediately greeted and served water. Nori always has house specials so we looked over the menu and decided on a few delicious dishes. We had went with edamame: which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Believe it or not restaurants screw up edamame. Mango kani salad: this was really good their was a hint of spice. Its so refreshing and a great start to a sushi dinner. We went off the special menu with the Lobster Filo This was AmAZinG !! It was lobster and mango in filo and a sauce it was fried. This dish was delicious and tender. it had a spicy duck sauce which went so well with this app. I could have eaten another portion. I ordered a couple of rolls between the both of us. We ordered a Sweet potato roll which is always a favorite fried with panko bread crumbs. Lobster tempura with cucumber in the roll which was fried and had a sticky sweet soy sauce although good the wrap on the out side was a little tough. I had speciality rolls that were really good. I got the Apollo 13 which was tuna crunch roll with spicy tuna on top and a Dinosaur roll with crab avocado and cucumber with fresh tuna on top. Both were super fresh and tasty. The rolls are large and def worth the price. I really love this place. I think they have quality fresh seafood food that they perfectly execute. The service is super friendly and helpful. Thats what makes them stand out from the rest.

My absolute sushi spot… anywhere…ever! We bought our house right around the corner and when it first opened, we gave it a try. Best thing we could have done. We bring people from all over here. The food and service has always been excellent. I mean the chef used to work at Nobu in Manhattan– HEKNEWSUSHI! To start I would recommend the Red Miso and Lobster soup. It’s just perfect and the lobster is never overcooked. The Spicy Crunch Salmon roll is something truly amazing. It’s my new favorite roll, this coming from a person who only used to eat California rolls. My friends have had the Chicken Teriyaki and gave good reviews, but I’m strictly there for sushi. The background music could improve slightly, but that is absolutely no excuse not to go there. Go! Go to Nori! Go right now! GO!!!
