I honesty expected better quality food. Prices are reasonable, but the chicken was like rubber. This was my first and LAST time eating at this place.

Their vegan/vegetarian options have yet to impress me. Most recently, my friend and I ordered Ma-Po Tofu and General Tso’s bean-curd. They we almost indistinguishable in flavor and appearance(only mildly different spiciness, and of course the bean-curd was slightly fried — but neither screamed«cooked with love» to say the least)… If you’re looking for quiet, this place may be worth exploring. I have gone at several different times of day and usually myself and whoever I am with are the only ones there. Service is decent, although I definitely sense they are not use to catering to vegans or vegetarians. The people I have gone with who eat meat have never complained.

Why, oh, why, did I subject myself to this most awful of meals? Why didn’t I listen to my kid when he said, «I think this is a Restaurant Impossible». Yes, it most certainly was a restaurant impossible — why didn’t I listen? He said that 3 minutes after we sat down. I had never been there. Pass it frequently and today we were in the mood for some tasty Chinese food so we decided to give it a try. A lunch special — seems good, ok. Place looks rundown but let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Many a dump has great food. Unfortunately not this one. Save yourself the trouble. Drive on, nothing here worth stopping for. Chicken with vegetables — the chicken was like rubber. I was forced to spit most of it out into a napkin. My son took 2 bites of his Sesame Chicken and said, «I can’t do it. This is terrible.» So that sums up our dining experience. A truly, sad one. I am shocked anyone has had a good meal here after the food we got.

I really like Green Garden. I usually order delivery so I can’t tell you about the dinning in experience, but I can tell you this. There delivery service is very good. They are punctual rain sleet or snow with a few excusable latenesses due to inclement weather. Hey have never screwed up my order and I never feel rushed off the phone or through my order. The quality of the food isn’t bad but it’s not the best I’ve had, but for the area they are certainly in the top three. I have ordered the chicken and broccoli, and I’ve had the boneless spare ribs both are very good. I gave them 3 stars which is good in my book. I feel to many throw those five stars around a little too much. Take it from me Green Garden is a win when it comes to delivery so don’t hesitate to call

We stopped going here a few years ago because the food just was not up to par. But this year we have visited over and over because the food has become simply spectacular! Service is special, the restaurant is very clean and the staff is quite friendly. The General Tsao’s Chicken is crispy and sweet; the dumplings are hot, juicy and tasty, many of the specials and other dishes are truly superb. This has become«our» restaurant again and we cannot recommend it more highly!

Great dumplings and fried rice! But their hot and sour soup is not good!

Okay… I guess we won’t be cutting along indefenitely… we did order from them again, but the cashier had no money with two people sitting in the restaurant eating, and they gave us the wrong order, but we had the food anyway. And we ordered for a Sprite; they never gave us! So they have done better this time, but just because the food tasted good. 3 stars.

Went to this restaurant for Mother’s Day. The food was very authentic chinese and we are chinese. My family loved it. We got 6 dishes from the menu and a few appetizers, we were satisfied with all the dishes. And we also thought it is better then some of the foods we get in chinatown. Gonna try take out next time!

I used to go here all the time for lunch and I happily ordered the salmon. I went back a few weeks ago and felt the portions were a bit smaller. But it was still good and worth the $ 6.95 for lunch!

Over the past week, we have eaten Chinese food three times, from three different places, and Green Garden is by FAR the best. We had lunchtime delivery, which was friendly and prompt to an apartment, and the order taker was very polite and clear over the phone. The mister ordered chicken wings, which miraculously arrived still crisp and fresh, and salt and pepper shrimp, which arrived the same. I have to say that the salt and pepper shrimp were the best I’ve probably ever had – no mush, good clean flavor. His entrée was beef with string beans. The beans were still crisp, which to a lot of people is a bonus, but he prefers them more cooked with the flavor of the wok, so while he enjoyed the dish, it wasn’t the best version ever. I ordered the diced chicken with spicy tea sauce. The spice was a bit muted – next time I would say«extra spicy” – but the flavor was excellent otherwise. I’m not sure what the traditional name for this dish is but it hit the memory centers in my brain and I KNOW I had it as a kid with my parents. Chicken, mixed vegetable(zucchini, onion, water chestnut, broccoli, one piece of baby corn) and a yummy sauce, can’t go wrong. Sadly the shrimp in lobster sauce was pretty one-dimensional, the garlic dimension. No ground pork, no ginger, none of the complexity found from other joints. My MIL liked the sauciness, but isn’t a huge garlic fan and wished there were vegetables to help cut the flavor. Eggrolls were average, nicely cooked, but heavy on the wrapping. Next time I order Chinese food on Staten Island, this is definitely going to be my first choice.

Before my offices moved, I was just a short distance from this joint and I usually went there once or twice a month. Was very happy with my food, the General Tsao was always just spicy enough, rice wasnt too hard or mushy and service was very nice. Then one day, sesame chicken got very watery, no zing and got somewhat bland… So I called the nice lady to ask if there was anything different: «Ooooh no, mister Polyester, it’s just that we moved the day cook to evening shift…» So if its still the same, go there in the evening, the cook rocks!

For this review I am going to follow the advise on essay writing from a high school teacher. K.I.S.S: Keep it short and simple This is a very nice classy Chinese restaurant located in West Brighton in Staten Island. The décor is elegant and the food is delicious.

This is the only place I order carry out from in Staten Island. I am never disappointed_I have tried a number of them. I usually get the sesame chicken– the cabbage salad and scallion pancakes– and the great steamed dumplings…
