The service is great and the food is amazing. I’ve been happy with everything I’ve eaten there so far.

My woman and I recently visited La Strada on a Friday evening. It was 9:45, and I called to confirm what time they close and if it would be a problem if I come in at 10:00pm. The gentleman on the phone stated they close at 11:00 and it would not be a problem. As we walk in the door at 10:00 sharp the bartender shakes his head and mumbles something. I am assuming that the place was near empty he was looking to get out of work early. We eat our dinners and tried to move along as quickly as possible not to burden any of the workers. In all fairness, the waiter and bus boy were very helpful and accommodating and the food was tasty. A place like La Strada needs to be very careful in this environment. Their food is good, but it is not a place that anyone would seek out. The same can be said for the ambiance /décor, it’s dated. With that said, a miserable employee or two is a recipe for failure. There are many fantastic choices on Staten Island that are able to honor their posted hours without making their guests feel like they are imposing.(Bayou, Da Noi, Bin 5, Gatsbys, Beso, Stonehouse, Zio Toto, Inca Grill… I can go on forever) If I am paying between $ 100 – 200 for dinner for two, I want to enjoy the entire experience. These aforementioned places have menu’s that are way more interesting, and an ambiance that is more date worthy. I can honestly say La Strada does not bring this to the customer. It seems like a place you would have a bereavement luncheon or a birthday dinner for your 70 year old uncle.

My fiancé received gift certificates to La Strada and we decided to try it out. The atmosphere is pretty spacious, the restaurant was a bit empty but I think it was because it was a weird time on a Monday night. I ordered a special with veggies, chicken and pasta. My fiancé’s parents got the La Strada Combo For Two and really enjoyed it. My fiancé has a bit of a special order by asking them to do the Shrimp Parmesan with Vodka sauce and angel hair pasta. It was described as «awesome, so good». For dessert we had a deliciously creamy and light tiramisu. We had a very nice waiter who was attentive throughout the meal. The experience was great and would come back here if I ever come to Staten Island for dinner.

Great and friendly service, first of all. If I had one complaint, it would be that they took a little too long between courses, but they checked on us often enough — still, not a big deal. Secondly, the food was AMAZING. We went there on a recommendation for the stuffed artichokes, and they were the best ones we had ever had. I ordered the Spiedini alla Marco, and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue. Both were perfect. My parents ordered the Combo for 2, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Basically, towards the end of the meal, we were each fighting between our fullness and how good the food was. We were stuffed, but couldn’t simply stop eating. The prices for everything were reasonable, too… maybe averaging $ 21-$ 25 for a meat entrée, with a salad. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we visit Staten Island again. On a final note, it’s crowded, for a good reason. That being said, it was a bit loud(this is just meant as a tip, not a complaint). Despite that, my family and I had a great time with amazing food.

–Service was excellent –Food was mediocre –Eggplant tasted like it was defrosted then reheated –Surf and turf was beautifully presented however was lacking seasoning. –Chicken oreganata. Absolutely no flavor. I was better off asking for a chicken cutlet with soggy bread crumbs.

I ordered the special tonight farfalle pasta with sardines and breadcrumbs. The bland pasta was served with the uncooked breadcrumbs on the side. My husband’s pasta dish was good but could have used some grated cheese. Unfortunately we did not see our waiter again until the table had been cleared. We spent most of the meal without drinks(both wine and waters) and a random busboy took my untouched meal away without so much as a, «can I wrap this?» Our waiter never asked how everything was. Very disappointed.

It was our first time at this restaurant. We had the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was good. But it was my entrée that hit it out of the park. Lobster Bianco. An entire lobster, garnished with a few clams and mussels, atop a bed of garlic-studded linguine. The lobster was chopped up into several pieces, which made it easier to tackle — so glad I didn’t let my usual hesitancy about ordering a whole lobster stop me from trying this. The sauce was out of this world — lots of garlic, butter and white wine, sweetened by the juice of the lobster. The best lobster dish I’ve had in ages. My husband had the shrimp parm. Very large portion, but he was disappointed by the sauce, which looked way too generic/homogenized for my taste. Oh well — his bad luck! Too bad he doesn’t eat lobster!

I highly recommend La strada for accomodating our party of 20 that unexpectedly grew to a party of 50 the day of my sisters memorial. The manager swiftly had everyone seated, served dinner and dessert within a 2 hour window! Extremely grateful for the accomodation, great food and great service during the most difficult times in our lives. Thank you La strada you guys really went above and beyond! 5 stars!

Great lunch specials at an affordable price. They don’t skimp on portions. A three course meal for under $ 20 with quality ingredients. Better than eating fast food.

The woThis was most definatly the worst Italian resturant I have ever been to in my life, food was crap and so was the service. the waiter should work in a funeral parlor he had absolutely no personality very moody, this is what happens sometimes when you have untrained staf trying to cook Italian food(Mexicans) the highlight of the night was the accordion player who can play stairway to heaven by led zeppelin on that box. i will absolutely never go back. When I left I gave my leftovers to a homeless man I just hope he did not get sick he is homeless he really does not need a bad meal on top of that.

As we waited for a table we sit at the bar, I ask for a Pinot Grigio, the bartender gives me Pinot noir. Ok no problem, it gets switched quickly! We sit at our table and wait and wait. My guess is bc we already had drinks and the specials are displayed at the table! Which I found to be odd! Finally the bus boy brings water and bread and we wait some more! Finally the waiter comes, does not introduce himself just asks if we are we ready to order! We have to ask him his name, Marco. We order the crab cake special, the broiled seafood and the chicken sorrentina. The crabcakes were good but they tasted like cod not crab! The broiled seafood had absolutely no flavor, absolutely no seasoning whatsoever! Not even after I added salt, which I don’t like to do, the dish could not be saved! The chicken sorrentina fared slightly better but that too needed seasoning! Marco never reappeared! In passing he asked how our food was just as they were placing it on the table ! As he waits for a reply we look at him like he’s totally clueless! We actually have to tell him that they just now put the food down and have not tried it yet! He was MIA until the bill! Another waiter or busboy took our dessert order which was quite forgettable! La Estrada needs to revamp their menu, add seasoning to the food, it tastes like the chef so bored! And they definelty need to retrain their staff! There are too many good places on Staten Island for such mediocre food!

Heard nothing but great things about this restaurant, so I went for my first time on a Monday night to avoid the overcrowding(due to La Strada’s popularity, I can imagine that it can get quite busy later on during the week or during the weekend). Cozy place, nice ambiance, inviting environment. Sat down and ordered drinks. Alas, the first thing I say about the place will be a complaint — but it’s the only one. I ordered a Jack Daniel’s — neat, no ice, just the way I like it. The server(not his fault) brought me a big glass that, initially, almost looked empty. I literally received about a half of a mouth full of whiskey. This immediately turned me off and my impression of the place was now going to be very difficult to change. Then they brought us bread and it was surprisingly delicious. Warm, clearly just baked, and served with some rich eggplant dipping sauce. I may have gone a little overboard with it, but that’s how good it was. Appetizer– my date wanted to try some specialty salad and it sounded interesting enough, so I agreed. Server brought it and I nodded with approval as he placed it in front of us. Very generous portion. My date and I both filled our plates three times with it. Elegantly arranged, impressive presentation… Large slices of pears and apples coated with a sweet balsamic dressing. Mountains of feta cheese and mouthfuls of cranberries in every bite. I was satisfied. I wanted salmon for my main course but I generally never, ever, ever order it from restaurants simply for one reason: it never fills me up. For some reason, restaurants do not seem to realize that salmon DOES come in pieces larger than two inches long and one inch thick. But I was really in the mood for salmon, so I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Besides, I’ve heard that La Strada’s food was exceptional, so I had to see how they prepared my favorite dish… When it arrived, my jaw actually dropped. The cut of fish they gave me was enormous. I’ve never been served a piece of salmon that size before. Perfectly prepared, flakey, came right apart at the slightest touch of my fork. Succulent and juicy. Creamy and lemony. Playfully placed on a bed of salad drizzled with some type of white wine sauce, surrounded by peppers and little baby tomatoes. Unbelievable. We were so full, we didn’t even order dessert. I’d love to give La Strada 5 stars, but the drink servings were so lamentably pathetic I just can’t do it. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic.

This is my favorite restaurant on Staten island. My wife and I have been coming here for years. It is the just consistent restaurant I have been too and it never upsets. The bartender makes incredible drinks, I believe his name is Mike. His long island iced teas are unbelievable. I will say however that the atmosphere had diminished over the years. It is a bit loud and sometimes the crowd gets obnoxious. With that being said I still recommend because the food is great. Their stuffed artichoke is absolutely delicious.

Fantastic. One of the best vodka sauces I’ve ever tasted. Friendly and attentive service, which is good because entrees tend to take a little long. Other guests in my party loved their meals as well. I’ve tried several chicken dishes, all delicious, but penne vodka is a must. Add shrimp to it, you’ll thank me later. As with most other italian restaurants, the portions are generous and very filling. Only cons really are the time for entrees to come out and the terrible parking. Best bet is to park around the corner or down one of the number streets and walk a bit.

The food was amazingly delicious. The staff was friendly from the start and we had a big party of 12. The entire wait staff was friendly and accommodating to any request, truly a top notch staff when it comes to service. And to be honest that’s saying a lot on Staten Island. The appetizers were great we had baked clams, fried calamari and mussels so delicious. I was in the mood for a simple veal parm and it was out of this world. For me if it’s that good out something I make myself, then I’m impressed. The sauces have to be homemade because they were the stars of the dishes. My wife had the salmon, which I tasted and that too was amazing. And very nice portions. The only thing was the food was slow coming out but I still gave them 5 stars, which is rare, but the food was that good and the staff was that good. I would definitely come back and will be back.
