Love this place! Laurel Tavern is a suitable place for a casual drink and a delicious dinner. Food has been always great and the drinks are decent, not very strong nor light. I wish they had more staff to take care of their customers faster. The service is slow, no matter you sit by the bar or have a table. Great place to come, chill and watch a game.

Like most bars alongside Ventura Blvd, this has problems, but not the typical ones you’d expect. The fact they didn’t have a single waiter hampers this score down. You have to wait in a line to ask for water and silverware. Ordered the wings, at twelve dollars it’s nothing special

I loved this place when I went three years ago on a date with my bf… and welp, I still love it now :) Laurel Tavern is a great addition to the craziness that is Ventura Blvd. First off, like everywhere else in that vicinity, parking is a nightmare so plan to walk a few blocks hahah. The actual establishment isn’t that large and seating is pretty cramped(my one main complaint) — i just hate feeling like I’m sitting on top of patrons and everyone is listening to everyone else’s conversation haha. But I digress… Let’s talk about food… Get a burger!!! No joke, their burgers are so juicy and flavorful! My personal favorite is the bacon blu that has strips of granny smith apple in it as well to add some crunch to the burger. $*@%ING delicious. We tried their pork belly appetizer for the first time too last night and holy moly this is a must have dish! Crunchy and caramelized on the outside but buttery on the onisde. It also comes with this sweet and tangy sauce, lime and cilantro. Other dishes worth trying– french dip sandwich is pretty tasty too with some of the best horseradish I’ve ever had. Fries are… well, fries. Always a nice added touch to a meal. Let’s wrap this up folks… get here early, park a little ways away but hurry in to get some prime real estate tables. Order copious amounts of meat and beer, and then let the food coma ensue. :)

Krabby Patty looking burgers that are *arguably* the best burgers on this side of town. Bistro or laurel, I switch btwn the two. If ya didn’t know, now ya know. Sliders, grilled artichoke, pork belly app, prosciutto & burrata, ANDTHEFRIES. These are all worth getting at least once if not every time you go. I don’t like their caesar dressing on the salad so I stay away from it. Very lime-y and almost like a Mexican based Caesar. Brussel sprouts are good but I prefer black market’s. LT has bacon and a sweeter taste while BM is cheesy and tart.

Burgers here are amazing. Very flavorful, quality meat with oily, softy buns crispy where it touches the meat :) I had the tavern burger with arugula. Very good. I’ve also had their pork belly skewers which are good as well. Has a slightly sweet sauce on it. The place is busy on the weekends, so I make sure to go only on the weekdays. Order food and drinks at the bar. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but this area is a bit more trendy of the valley places.

Were from out of town, and my sister who lives in the neighborhood suggested we go here. We took an über and got a table. My wife and I ordered at the bar when security asked me to leave because I had a tank top shirt on. Security offered that I could purchase a T-Shirt from the bar for $ 15 dollars? We were all calm and tried reasoning with them, that we were already there, and ordered, and our party of 6 just showed up. In the end we walked out. Come on people… it’s a TAVERN… in June… in LA. I guess my appearance was too poor looking to tarnish this establishments precious, pretentious, image.

Love Laurel Tavern! It’s a great, chill bar. You order everything at the bar and grab a seat. So whether you’re with a large group or just a few people you don’t have to fumble around at the end of the night with splitting a check. All the food is fantastic especially the steak and fries. The appetizers are all so big you can order a few and make a meal out of those. Their drinks are delicious and they have quite a few beers available, even a gluten free beer. The bar does get packed at night so if you want a table get there a bit earlier than normal. But the door guys try their best to get you a table and bring over menus.

The line here is RIDICULOUSS!!! I mean that honestly shuns me away from coming there but there are times where I just can’t resists the cravings and temptations of the salmon plate. If you’re into lox, this is the plate for you. Paired up with the capers, it’s just magical. It keeps me coming back everytime, I don’t order anything else. Highly recommend that dish.

Nice staff. Good selection of beers and drinks. I’ve never eaten here, but they also have food. Pretty casual place. There’s usually a good vibe; we’ve always had fun here. Most people have been friendly. I wish they extend their hours.

I love coming here during lunch on shoot night, but I hv to say… Disappointed The waitress took a full order of fries off our table. I asked what happened to the fries and she appologised. No problem, but when you replace the fries with drenched oil… sorry but you can keep them. The food was inconsistent which is sad, but I’m hoping it doesn’t become the norm.

Stopped in for a quick dinner of small plates. We had the chorizo sliders, Brussels sprouts(which are fried but delicious), pork belly, prosciutto and burrata. All very delicious and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The bartender also made a great IPA beer recommendation that I really enjoyed.

I found this place through Unilocal(of course!) Saw the many wonderful reviews and thought«why not?» The bouncer/security guard at the door was very welcoming. We sat at a table towards the back near the bar. We were not planning on ordering food BUT the minute I saw that they had Brussel sprouts, I couldn’t resist. See below for the ratings of each item I tried: –Glazed Brussel sprouts: 5 out of 5 stars, amazing good. So good we ordered a 2 second serving(I could’ve probably had another) –Chorizo sliders: 4 out of 5 stars, comes with 3 sliders. Flavor was good but nothing topped the Brussel sprouts) –Blackflower mixed drink: 3 out of 5 stars, not a huge fan it was a bit hard to drink. I asked for it without mint and they forgot to not add it.(I don’t like mint) –Whoa Frenchy mixed drink: 5 out 5 stars, full of flavor, easy to drink, I had 2 of them I am looking forward to the next time we come here. I had a great time, the service was pretty good and the food was amazing. It was also very calm with music playing in the background but just the right volume so you can still have a conversation with the people you’re with.

Whoever knows me, knows how much I love this spot and how highly I always speak of it. Laurel Tavern used to be on my top 5 restaurants in LA — key words: used to! My friend and I wanted to have a mellow Sunday, and given our love for LT, we decided to go have some yummy food and drinks. We arrived and as usual we valet our car and went in and got menus. We’ve been here many times and we both know the routine. We get the menus, decide what we want, order at the bar, pay, get a number for the order and wait until the deliciousness reaches our tables. Also, her and I had pretty much tried everything on the menu and we knew exactly what we wanted. But you can imagine our big disappointment when we found out 1. They have ran out of musscles to serve that night and 2. They no longer have their lollipop hot wings on the menu. And those two dishes have always been our top dishes at this place. But we were good sports and decided to go with the poke, regular hot wings and the pork belly skewers. For our main dishes we orders the Laurel Tavern burger(which used to have arugula in it, but now you have to add it) and the sliders. We ordered a round of drinks just to keep us occupied until our food came out. The first dishes that came out were the poke and the wings. Now imagine our sad faces. We were glad that we’re about to eat, since we were both starving. But we couldn’t wipe those sad faces off because we came in with a totally different mind set. The poke was good. Very fresh and I think that’s why I’m even giving this review 2 stars. The avocado and the dressing went great with the tuna. But the wings on the other hand were a different story. I noticed that it didn’t look like hot wings. I get the whole lollipop look was no longer on the menu. But we were under the impression that they still serves regular hot wings. But we were wrong. They were«Louisiana style wings». Once again, our sadness became ever greater but we asked for hot sauce and ranch so we can somehow pretend that they’re hot wings. Our waitress brought us an empty hot sauce of our choice and placed it on our table and walked away. I had to wave her back and show her that the bottle was empty and asked for a full bottle hot sauce. At last she brought it and we started eating. After the first wing, I was going in for seconds when my friend yelled and jumped. Everyone started to stare but she couldn’t hold it in. After biting into her wing, she thought that there was a rock or something mixed in. Or maybe the bone was too hard. Because she thought that she cracked her tooth! I mean we were both in shock but she was a bit embarrassed by everyone looking at her and didn’t say anything. Her Burger and my sliders came out. But she only ate less than half of her burger and I only ate one of my sliders. We were both extremely disappointed and very upset at that moment. We left everything on the table unfinished and walked out. But the cherry on top of this whole thing was that my friend was up all night because of her toothache. So this morning she went to the dentist because the pain was so great, and she found out that her tooth did in fact break and she has to pay an arm and a leg for a new crown. It’s safe to say that neither of us will no longer return to what was once our favorite spot.

Never been here for the food, but the drinks are pretty good. They are a bit stingy on the alcohol to be honest, but the taste of most of the drinks is still good to get me coming back for more. The grapefruit is my favorite. It does get pretty crowded on the weekends so beware! Service at that time is pretty sucky, so order everything you can whenever you get the waiter’s attention!

This place was on my bookmarks and was in the area. I booked this place because of the presentation of their food. Luckily we went during the day and found street parking, I did see they offer valet parking. They have a good selection in food, beer, and wine. I ordered the Laurel Tavern Burger, I was not disappointed. It was so juicy and tasty. Service was good, only thing that was a bit different is after you order they give you a bill. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to hold on to it or pay so I kept in case I wanted to add something. The waitress came about to see if the bill was ready for pick up. So I guess you pay as you order. I loved the ambiance, looks like a great time in the night time as well.

I’ve been coming to Laurel Tavern ever since I was introduced to it back in 2008 when it opened up(there’s some history for you folks). It’s a neat spot really, on the weekends it gets pretty busy sure but I’ve always found room to sit someway or another. During the week it’s a bit more mellow. There’s no reservations to make. On weekend evenings you usually get carded at the door, but besides those days, walk in, find some seating at the bar, communal table, or tables around and enjoy. It has a cool vibe and nice environment filled with comfort and style. You order food and drinks at the bar, there are no servers, and the menus are around the room on the front walls on either side. They change the drinks every now and then but you’ll find a bunch of awesome craft beers, wines, and gourmet style type food. There’s valet parking and metered parking around besides the many streets off Ventura.

Laurel Tavern is an ideal location to go on dates. Dimmed lights and the oh so romantic vibe calls for bringing your special someone. Life is too short to settle for mediocre locations. Even though Laurel Tavern is a pricey bar, you are getting what you pay for. I enjoy the mix drinks they have and their Adiós MF is a killer! Coming here on dates has always been the appropriate scenario. If you’re looking for a nice night out, this is the way to go! However, wait can be tedious and make you question whether or not you want to stay there.

This is a great place to come for a beer during the day! It’s a nice open atmosphere with interior brick. They have an extensive beer menu but they also have cocktails and wine. I LOVE their margaritas because they’re made with lime juice, not sweet & sour. They are $ 8 each. The LT fries are incredible & a steal at $ 5. The sandwiches are great as well. Just kind of pricey since they don’t come with a side and run from $ 11-$ 13. The service is very fast, but my only concern is that you have to order at the bar no matter where you sit. So if you’re sitting at the bar it’s a bit annoying to have people come up behind you just to place an order. And if you’re sitting at a table it’s bit unorthodox to have to go to the bar to order food. Overall I love coming here after work or on a Sunday to have a drink!

I like coming here on off nights especially. I have never had a bad experience, and the beers are priced extremely fair. Everything else is average for the area. Great food, Great drinks. It can get pretty packed causing the occasional line out front. If you come during the day or early evening you can get a seat pretty much anywhere.
