This location is where it all began. If driving down bridge road during the current road work that is taking place around it you can easily pass it as it looks like a house instead of a normal store front.
There isn’t much difference in this location from the Norfolk location that I frequent. It is much larger which allows you to move around the store easier without knocking into something at every turn. The women in the store are a little more into their jobs and doing a good job at selling me their items, asking me what I was looking for and if there was anything in the other store that I loved. The Norfolk store saleswomen typically stand behind the counter so there isn’t much interaction.
There is a lot to see in this store and you can easily miss something wonderful if you move to fast. I could easily spend a few hours in the store doing some damage which will have to be on another trip separate from this one.

A cute little store with fun finds! My mom and I drove by and thought the store looked cute so we stopped in, I’m glad we did. The staff was friendly from the minute we walked in the door. They had cute décor, jewelry and clothing. We ended up buying some great things for ourselves as well as gifts. I will definitely return and would recommend it to others who are looking for something a little unique.

beyond beautiful store with eclectic variety of options. they have some mudpie brand stuff that you can find at Hallmark but the selection at Dodson’s far exceeds anything at a Hallmark. The staff here are amazing. Sweet, sincere, hilarious, & knowledgable. The décor is crafty and adorable. They have a variety of items… some seasonal, some southern, religious, clothing, bridal, children’s, kitchen, candles, scents, soaps, funny and quirky knock knock notepads, you name it. I don’t think this place is kitschy at all as others have noted in their reviews. I also think that no matter where you’re from or where you’ve been, A Dodson’s is all around a unique and memorable shopping experience. I plan on returning as much as my husband allows it and plan on recommending to anyone that is looking for a store with some major creativity and individuality.

We have friends in VA Beach and always go through town, Suffolk, on our way over. A Dodson’s is a must stop for my wife. They turned us on to HUBs peanuts and I’m addicted. We’ve bought some antiques and lots of great stuff over the years. If I had to make a comparison to a corporate equivalent I’d say it’s cooler mix between Anthropologie, Restoration Hardware, and Williams Sonoma.
The only negative I can think of is its a bit hard to find even with all the signs. It’s on a curve and I wind up passing it sometimes, and have to double back. Not sure what others are commenting about with being pricy most of the stuff the store is about on par with what we’ve been able to get online.
It’s always a pleasant stop and we never leave empty handed. It’s definitely worth stopping if you’re in town and would venture to say worth a trip over if close by.

A Dodson’s is my go to boutique for unique gifts, clothing and accessories. I’ve loved their Suffolk location ever since moving here last year and now I love their Norfolk location as well!

L O V E. This store is pure magic. I can’t leave without a large bag full of goodies. Their displays are beautiful, they are friendly and their prices allow me to grab many things without blowing the whole paycheck! Totally my favorite shop in Hampton Roads– maybe even the East Coast!

I really enjoy looking around here every now and then. There are always very interesting and unique items. They only bad thing is that they are on the pricey side. I usually end up finding a thing or two to buy, but there are far more things I would love to buy if it weren’t for the big price tags. Definitely worth a look!

One of Hampton Roads most unique shops. The owner has fun taste. This is one of those stores where you are bound to find a treasure or two. If you are looking for a great gift, a statement piece for your home or something fun to wear out this is your store.

I’m not sure about 5 stars, but Dodson’s is actually a cute little gift shop. I wasn’t expecting much when I walked in, but there are a bunch of odds and ends that would be great for bachelorette parties, housewarming gifts, decorating, etc. It’s unique, if not a bit kitsch, but it makes for an interesting afternoon out. The things it has come to living in Suffolk!

An adorable shop with unique and whimsical finds. They have something for everyone; beautiful baking dishes, baby gifts, flasks and bar accessories, jewelry, various little trinkets, and so much more. And the staff is super nice and helpful. My only wish for A Dodsons is that they would stay open later! If you work a typical office job, you obviously can’t get there before 5.
