The saucer is always a good decision. Little slower than usual on the service side today for the level of business, but still ok. Don’t get the hummingbird water if they offer.

I come here after work almost everyday. The bartenders are awesome, the food is awesome. The beers are extravagant. I’m current going through the process to plot the placement of my 200+ beer count on the wall. All the way good days/nights here. Drink responsibly.

I’d rather post a bad review than make a scene. We have been going to this location for 6 months or so. Our server was great, nice, and friendly. We spent 90 $ and had an appetizer, 4 meals, and 8 beers. We were disgusted to find a lengthy silvery or blonde hair buried in our guacamole that had to be pulled out. It was long. Said guac was replaced but if this happened to one of my customers I would make it right for them by comping the appetizer in question and a round of beers or even the whole tab. Had I raised my voice or yelled or been loud and obnoxious as some people are wont to do I’m sure they would have done something for us. This would have been a 1 star review but the server was what got them the extra star. Thanks everybody goodnight!

Apparently customer service isn’t a concern of the manager. It took our waitress too long to even take our drink order. When our food finally arrived it was brought by a different waitress who was gone before we could ask for utensils and napkins. While I was trying to get my waitresses attention away from her friends across the restaurant my food was getting cold. As I went looking for a napkin another employee said she’d get them. My waitress finally appeared and asked if everything was alright. I took her apron and pretended to wipe my hands on the bottom and said there now I won’t need a napkin after all. Some skinny guy with a bad beard appeared some 15 min latter and began to shout obscenities at me and my friend and demand I leave. I told him he needed to lower his voice and watch his language. He said he would call the police if I didn’t leave at once. I asked him if he was the manager or just some nut case. He began to curse some more and said he was calling the police. Time was when id have let him and waited to talk to the officer myself. However, I decided to leave and avoid anymore hassle. I was waiting for my friend to finish his meal out on the side walk out side the place when once again crazy manager appeared now outside on the sidewalk and demanded I move along shouting out obscenities all the while. I told him I was waiting for my friend and my ride and wouldn’t move till then. He told me I was to never return to Flying Saucer again. And I told him that was the greatest waste of words in the history of the English language. So if your looking for customer service; try the food court at the airport. I’m sure it’s better then the Nut House. As a veteran of three wars I sometimes find it hard to keep myself from feeling a sense of shame of the sad state our society is falling into.

My family has a running total of 13 plates as of January 2016. Dad has 6, Mom has 5 and little brother has 2. Me = none, I live in Denver. When I’m visiting, my beers go on their tabs. It’s kind of funny that the reward for a 10th plate(to an individual) is 2 tickets to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. I go every year for free since I live in Denver. Maybe Dad will finally join me when he gets his 10th plate(I’ve offered to take him several times) The service is always great when they know you by name. Anyway, this place is kind of like our South Houston living room… but with much heavier food. If I’m going to The Saucer, I’m not looking for healthy anyway. Light meals don’t work with heavy beer drinking. The portions are generous and easy to split. We always split a pretzel w/cheese, the sausage plate and/or cheese board or hummus plate. I’ve had the P&A pizza and the sandwich specials on pretzel bread(yum). I usually split the chicken sandwich or stroganoff burger with someone. They do have fresh salads … mom likes them. CHEERS!

This beer hot spot seems like it’s always busy. They have a huge variety of draft and bottled beers to choose from, and even a full menu of food in case you’re hungry. Come on a Tuesday and check out their trivia night, it’s pretty fun and challenging.

Since I was in Houston for work, I decided to continue my quest to go to all Flying Saucers. I’m at 112 beers after 11 years so I’m still plugging away towards my goal of getting a plate on the wall. In my defense the closest I’ve ever lived to one was still an hour away. Pretzel was delicious. I love visiting different saucers and getting to try local beers. The cheese fries we’re good, but the beef and queso surprise underneath was a touch overwhelming. That was probs ok though as it made me eat less than I would’ve. So next time I’m going sans surprise on the cheese fries. I was there in the afternoon so it was easy to navigate the area. However I can see where it could be a shit show to get around those narrow streets if it were a busy time. Free parking in the garage nearby was nice

If you like Craft beers and want to announce it to the world, this is your place. After drinking ‘enough’ beers your favorite phrase goes on a plate on the wall! Score! Other than beer: After 4 years they have finally figured out how to make a cocktail for me, but don’t add enough alcohol, so: waste of money. Cons: LOUD, all talking is echoed off the linoleum floor & plates on ceiling. No napkins/cocktail napkins, if you like to keep your hands clean you are out of luck [gross]. Music, it has been a horrible mix of unknown Jamaican singers, and unknown songs from groups that were ~sort of ~popular. Hubby says they are playing better music now, but how would I know… I can’t hear anything! Oh, and they will cut the music off so — someone? — can listen to a soccer game, which oddly is FULLBLAST! This is a BAR, keep the music playing! Planning to sit outside? This is the only establishment in SL Town Center without chairs, only long bench ‘German’ style seating. Otherwise, a very nice patio. Cocktails: may not have much alcohol, just order shots. Smell: usually smells like old fried pickles and vomit. Smelt better this time, so they found the bleach for the mop bucket. No smoking allowed inside, so that is a plus. Women’s Bathroom: fine, bar is only 4 years old, so SHOULD be good. Baker’s Street Pub, which has all the craft beers hubby likes anyway, has a nicer bathroom, but smoking is allowed inside restaurant. People watching: must admit, this corner location in SL Town Center is great for checking out cool cars, motorcycles, and all kinds of ‘goings on’. Waitresses: very sweet, helpful with beer choices, always come by to check on us. Only problem I have is the really short skirts. Men probably like that, and it’s done at lots of bars anyway. Saucer… Pay your waitresses more money! Whew! I feel better now that I’ve gotten ALL that off my chest! ;-)

We’re nearly at the end of college football season, and we finally figured out that flying saucer is a great place to watch a game. We walked in on a Saturday around 6:30 and there were a few tables open(open seating). Our waitress was really attentive and sweet all night and was able to recommend both food and various beers when we told her what we were looking for. None of this«well, this is our list of porters and stouts…» either: she could tell us which was creamy, bold, coffee tasting, chocolate tasting, etc. We shared the pretzels(great with cream cheese), and my husband had the beer cheese soup bread bowl. I had the IPA Mac and cheese — good, a tiny bit spicy, but I would rather just have some wings next time. Flying Saucer seems to regularly get crowded by 9 or 10pm on the weekend, and it’s got a nice atmosphere inside. For a beer place, it’s not pretentious, and most seats are in view of a TV if you’re looking to catch a game. It also has a solid showing for happy hour, both inside and on the heated patio.

Great place to sit and enjoy a well selected draught beer from their vast menu. The food was perfect for the German Bar like atmosphere. The pretzel hit the spot while enjoying my beer selection!

I’ve been here many times, mostly as a pregnant non drinker. However I can say that the food is pretty good. The pretzels are great, the plain /regular salad is huge and also pretty good. I’ve tried the mac and cheese, it’s pretty good if you like the«beer«flavoring. Its a bit heavy for my taste but still good. Service is hit and miss. I go in knowing what to expect, meh service, good food and a nice beer selection for the hubby. I plan on trying some of the beers soon. I’ve been here with my baby and my 6 year and have had no issues. I do usually come with them for lunch or early dinner on the week days.

This place sucks. Got here at 11:45 pm and the kitchen was closed when the establishment closes at 2 am. The excuse was since it’s not a lot of people then the kitchen closed. Well don’t stay open til 2 am on a weekday.

Good was good. Atmosphere was good. Having pets at the restaurant: ok I have a dog and didn’t mind that the restaurant allows you to bring them but what what I don’t like is the restaurant allowing dogs on top of their tables, them also drinking from regular cups and the waiters are petting the animals/picking them up AND still serving food. Now that’s nasty because I can’t verify their hands were washed and now I know your clothes are nasty too.

The service is terrible. I went today afternoon for a small family birthday celebration an the service was appalling. Even after I asked to leave no manager of the place had the decency to show up and explain. The only saving grace is the half decent food and beers. This the first time I went to this establishment and is the last time. Avoid the place unless you have no other better option.

What’s not to like about this Flying Saucer? It’s pretty large — I’ve been there with pretty groups and it’s worked out! Of course — they have a great beer list! Check them out on Sundays — Texas Pint Sundays! Texas pints are $ 3 all day!(I had one Lone Pint, one Karbach, and one B52 for $ 9!) They serve food — which I think is necessary if you want to be the kind of bar that people can stay at for hours! Outdoor and indoor seating! Service is great usually — our waitress last night was really sweet, but she got the wrong beer a couple of times! She seemed really confused — maybe she was just having an off night? Wasn’t a huge deal though!

WHYHAD I NEVERHEARDOFTHISPLACEBEFOREMOVINGTOHOUSTON!!! I’ve been here twice in a week and love it. They have a hugeeee selection of beers, rotating specials, and I love the concept behind drinking 300 beers to get a cheesy saucer on the wall. Both times I went the service at the bar and at a table were great. The staff *reallllly* knows their sh*t — about everything beer related. I also really like that they serve liquor too. Also — what kind of female doesn’t like going to a bar/restaurant where the guy: girl ratio is 8:2 — GOODODDSMAHLADYFRIENDS! My only knocks were both times the food came out really slow as did some of the drinks — it is frustrating when you see bartenders talking behind the bar for long amounts of time when you know you server just put in a drink order… Either way — I’ll be back again: D

Flying saucer is such a great place to relax with some friends and get some great beers. Similar to the one in downtown, the whole premise of the place is that there are hundreds of different beers to try. If you’re a big beer fan, you would appreciate this place. Although it can get pricey; the atmosphere is a great place for young professionals or for grabbing a drink with your coworkers after work. It definitely has more of a pub feel rather than some club with ridiculously loud music and under aged kids. The walls are covered with plates from those who have completed the challenge of drinking 200 different beers. You can sign up for the UFO rewards card and you get a party and a plate on the wall when you reach your 200 beers. The place is self seated so sometimes the waitresses may not be as attentive… Parking is available in the garage in the same center for free, which is why I prefer it to the one in downtown. Overall, great go to place for drinks and to hang out with friends.

What can I say other than that the Flying Saucer is a beer lover’s dream! Taps galore! The UFO Club! And to top it off, food that will make your belly so happy that it’ll beg you to return time and time again. Every time I visit one of their locations I leave with a feeling of complete satisfaction and this visit was no different. The service was fantastic, like always. Our server did an awesome job explaining the various flights of beers that we enjoyed. She sold us on the menu items like a pro and each choice was perfect. We started with the Queso Fondue appetizer which was just silly good. For my main dish I had the Saucer Bratzel and it could not have been more scrumptious. It was the perfect mix of pretzel, bratwurst, Swiss cheese and green onions. I was in heaven. For dessert we shared a Beer Float and it was a tad bit stronger than I expected. Good, but strong, and rugged, and strong. I had a bunch of beers, but I don’t remember which was which because our group of three shared 3 varying flights. But not to worry, because it’s all kept track of through the UFO club. The one drink I do remember and LOVED, was the Stone Mix Tape Vol. 10 Blend from Another Planet. The seating was plentiful for a Saturday night and the décor is one of a kind. While there I finally joined the UFO club so I will add my name to the wall or ceiling one day. The UFO club got me a sweet t-shirt and a card for keeping track of my drinks. The food was awesome and I strongly recommend sharing so you can sample a little bit of everything because it’s all DAMNGOOD!!! This place won’t let you down and if you love beer you’re in for a special treat!

WOMPWOMP. I had pretty bad service when I was there. The place is nice and is open late for a late dinner during the week. Oddly, it was packed on a VERY cold and rainy Monday night(approx. 8:30 p.m.). So packed that there wasn’t any open space for two people at a table or the bar. I am told the meatballs taste good with beer. The wings can be on the skinny side. But I liked the crunch of the naked fried wings with a dry rub seasoning. Parking was easy on a Monday night, but I can see how it can be difficult on weekend nights. I will most likely return since they have a great beer selection.

A great spot to just hang out and have drinks with your friends in Town Center. There’s a huge selection of beers, and the food here isn’t bad either. Service is inconsistent, but I guess I can’t blame them for that either. I’ve been here when there’s 5 tables full and when it’s completely packed and I can’t find a seat. This is definitely a go-to if you like beer. The options they have are overwhelming(in a good way), and they have flights to try if you’re indecisive like me. If you don’t like beer, still come! I haven’t been disappointed with any ales I’ve tried here, and my friends always ask the bartender to create some kind of strong, fruity concoction for them. They’ve been good every time. All of the bartenders I’ve experienced here are always extremely informative and helpful. The fries smothered with cheese and bacon and ranch never fail. Also the giant pretzels. And queso. Yes. Oh and there’s TVs everywhere if you want to catch a game. If you don’t like big crowds and waiting awhile to place your order, maybe try some place else on Fridays and Saturdays. During the week, it’s usually not a problem finding a seat and having pretty good service. It’s usually pretty empty before 5pm too. Worth checking out!
