first the place JUST closed down. I drove by last night to make another visit to confirm my first visit. I had been once and ordered a small personal pizza. they claim it was baked in a stone oven, to me it tasted just like a good frozen pizza from the grocery store. while I try to make at least two visits before I write a review. this place closed down before I could do it

I wish I had read Loretta B’s review prior to purchasing my Groupon. My wife and kids and I dined here a couple Fridays ago and when I tried to use the groupon I was told it was not valid on Fridays. Sure enough it was there in the fine print. Totally my stupidity, but to be fair I’ve used a ton of restaurant Groupons and none of them had a day of the week invalid stipulation, so I wasn’t looking for it, but lesson learned. We enjoyed the food so decided to try to use the groupon this past Thursday. Again, we enjoyed the food; but our experience quickly went downhill. I was presented the check at which time I presented my groupon. The server who later stated he was the owner proceeded to lecture me about how I was supposed to present the groupon prior to ordering because waiting til the end of the meal«slows me down» but of course he’s going to apply it anyways. Well it seems I’m illiterate because the instructions indeed say to present groupon when seated – my bad. But again, I’ve used a ton of Groupons and have NEVER run across this. So when I get my cc receipt back I see a 20% gratuity added to the charge. No bueno. I question him about this because NOWHERE does it say gratuity will be added, and his rudeness kicks up a level as he gets his contract. He uses the general Groupon terminology about groupon customers tip great as his justification for the gratuity and states«I can’t just give it all away.» and«I didn’t have to take your groupon.» we’ll sure enough man you didn’t. And with as many Italian restaurants as there are in the Houston area that don’t use unethical(possibly illegal???) practices I certainly don’t(and won’t) use your establishment to satisfy my family’s craving for Italian food. I hope the lecture and $ 8.88 grat was well worth the loss of a family of 4 as customers.

Took my niece and mom here for a late lunch. The cheese sticks were tasty. I enjoyed my gnochi and my mom and niece liked their pasta dishes too. Adult plates are about $ 12 and come with salad and bread. The only thing I didn’t love is that they added 18% tip automatically since we used groupon. I don’t mind the standard 15% with the option for more, but unless it was awesome service and/or an upscale place I don’t like doing 18% or more.

Food was mediocre at best. The supreme brick oven pizza didn’t taste any better than Freschetta at the frozen food aisle at the local grocery store. Also, the bottom of the pizza kept separating from the rest of the pizza. The mezzaluna pasta tasted like it was reheated — NOT made fresh. At least it didn’t taste like it. The children’s spaghetti with meat sauce had an odd dish detergent taste to it. Most kids menus at other restaurants will come with a kid’s drink, but this did not. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the missing milk. On top of it all, they included tip in the bill total for a party of 4 — 2 adults and 2 young kids. A bit small in terms of party size to automatically include tip. I was going to leave a standard 15% tip anyways, but their tactic left a bad taste in my mouth. If you want great pizza, try Grimaldi’s.

It was my first time, very nice and quiet when I first went there. The food was really good, the service was really friendly, and helpful. I was only able to eat soup and salad but I didn’t get to try their pizza, but next time.

Pizza was great! My mom and I shared a supreme. Service could’ve been a bit better, but it wasn’t bad. We’ll probably be back.

Okay, so after I read the reviews on this restaurant I decided to give it a try. I ordered lasagna, a build your own pizza, and an italian cannoli. The lady on the phone was not great she couldnt answer any of my questions and asked 10 times to repeat my phone number. I ordered my food for delivery and the delivery minimum is $ 25, my order was $ 28, which is alot. The lasagna came with salad and breadsticks $ 12, and the pizza was about $ 9. I will update this when I get the food in 30 minutes. Stay tuned! UPDATE — — — — — – Okay, first off, this food is delicious, the pizza is fantastic, the lasagna is good and not too cheesy, and the cannoli was wonderful. Here is a throuough review on each item. Pizza: the pizza was fairly priced and was excellent! Lasagna: the sauce was very flavorful, the noodles were like no other noodle ive tasted, and the cheese was light and delicious Cannoli: the shell was a bit too sweet, but the cream was awesome! I would definitely reccomend this place to anybody!

The pizza is tasty. I ordered a small Manhattan pizza. It was 8.95 plus they charged me $ 1 for changing the sauce to red. It was not greasy at all. Light on the cheese and great toppings. For families with little ones: downside they don’t have a diaper station in the bathroom, but they were very accomodating to kids otherwise.

I’ve tried to eat here a couple of times, but I’ve only been successful once. Our first trip there was fine — the restaurant seemed to be crowded with friends/family of the owner(or manager?). There were two large groups of people and then several smaller tables. Still, we were seated and waited upon. The food was pretty good — I tried a daily special of three baked pasta dishes(manicotti, stuffed shells, and lasagna if I remember correctly). I wasn’t as crazy about the lasagna, but the other two were quite tasty. One dining companion ordered a pizza and seemed to like it pretty well. Our second trip was just irritating — again, the restaurant seemed to be full of friends and family of the owner. A large group of people stood right outside the front door chain-smoking, which is fine, except for the fact that the front door had been propped open and the smoke was basically just wafting inside. We found a table and sat down. And waited, and waited. After not being acknowledged at all(despite waiters walking right past us and us trying to get their attention), we decided it wasn’t worth waiting any longer. I could probably be persuaded to try this place again if it weren’t crowded, but honestly, I’m not sure it is worth the hassle.

I have no idea why this place isn’t packed more often… must be the location. This place opened a little over a year ago and we can’t get enough of it. The chicken parmesan is to die for. The chicken alfredo is also another one of my favs. The spicy shrimp garlic appetizer is must as well. Its a bit salty but I love it. They give you such large portions its well worth the price. This place also delivers which is a plus when the usual pizza and chinese delivery options just get tiresome. If you live in Sugar Land you must try this. Its on the corner of Settlers Way and HWY6. If you love Carrabba’s Italian food… you’ll love La Magia’s! If you eat at Olive Garden regularly, this place blows them away! Yep, that’s how much I love this place.

Loved it here! We picked up a $ 25 voucher, hubby and I both loved it! Started with Mozerella sticks, I had a pizza, hubby had chicken fettucine alfredo and we finished with some New York Cheesecake. It was quiet, service was a little slow but the food was great and I just picked up another $ 10 voucher as my hubby said he’d like to go back!

I finally made it to La Magia the other day after looking at it every. Single. Day. On my way home. I ordered in-store, waited on premises, and brought the food home. We had a pizza with pepperoni, feta, and jalapeño, chicken parm, and some wings. The pizza was solid but not mind-blowing. Ingredients were fresh, crust is decent, and it was cooked perfectly. For some reason it didn’t «wow» me, though. I can’t really pit my finger on it as to why. The parm was good enough for having come from a pizza joint, but I doubt I would order it again. Sauce was fine, chicken was bland. The wings were uninspiring. The pizza is good enough to eat again, but I still prefer Sicily and Grimaldi’s. Prices are pretty standard. It’s similar in size to pepperoni’s, so there’s room to sit down and eat there, though I have yet to do that. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, as I asked questions about a few of the dishes. They really do have a pretty expansive menu for a restaurant of this size. I’d go back, but I’m not entirely sure it would cross my mind very readily. Firm 3 star rating here.
