We love Spicy Pizza, it suits all of our hangover needs! We regularly order delivery on Sunday’s, food comes quicker than the estimate and it’s always fresh. I am obsessed with the broccoli cheese calzone, it’s a cheese lovers paradise(the broccoli varies, sometimes frozen sometimes fresh). Pepperoni wheel is delicious, good starter but WHOCANRESIST5/$ 1GARLICKNOTS?! I even eat them cold the next day. My bf is obsessed with the lasagna, it’s not bad for the price! The supreme pizza was pretty bangin and we just ordered the buffalo chicken pizza to try. We love our little Spicy Pizza tradition, even if it’s not a 5 star, over priced, ingredients flown in from Italy kind of place. It’s a local joint that cures our guilt free cravings on those days that seem to never end.

It hurts to give this review having just deleted a 5 star positive review given previously to this pizzeria. It used to be great, was one of the best places to get pizza and wings. As of today, this being the 3rd time being disappointed, we will no longer be ordering from here ever again. THREE times we were either given a hard time or given old food. The second disappointment we called and complained about the old and nasty chicken wings we received.(we ordered 48 pieces) and was brushed off and told that it’s normally like that(hard and stale). Considering we ordered a large amount, its unbelievable that they gave us 48 pcs of hard and stale chicken wings that have obviously been sitting for a very long time. Today is the topper. Not only were we served mediocre pizza, but once again, hard and stale chicken wings. The cherry on the top? They RAISED the price of their stale, nasty wings and didn’t bother to tell us. THAT was a nice surprise when the delivery guy came. Never again.

I was sick of Manhattan’s over-priced or cheap-and-nothing-but-too-greasy pizza. In other places the pizza tastes Okay but the owner is not friendly. Living in the neightborhood for 3 years I had never expected this tiny place with pale display right around the corner of my apt would turn into one of my great repeat pizza stops! The darkest place is under the lighthouse to find things in close. I usually drop by in evenings so the leftover slices don’t look very fresh… but boy, they still taste amazing!(cf: I don’t like too thick/strong tastes.) I think the magic is in their slightly sweet and chewy dow. They use lots of veggies in their variery options, and despite the jumbo size the slices never feel heavy in stomach. I never found myself so devoted to eating pizza, haha. And they are so humbly priced! People here are also nice and welcoming. Their pizza makes me happy and satisfied after a long day. I’ll definitely go back to try different slices in another evening. p. s. It’s a pizza place, as it says; why do others dare try different menu options, get dissapointed and remove their stars?

Friendly staff, great subs, good pizza for the price. And the Bacon Chicken Ranch slice is probably the best slice you can get in the neighborhood.

Garbage. Their greek salad is 5.50 on the board and advertises feta, onion, and olives. Turns out it’s 6.50 for a tin of shredded romaine with ground Parmesan, slivers of red pepper and boxed croutons. The pizza looks and tastes like it’s been in the display case for days. Do yourself a favor and go to Sunnyside Pizza or Nonna Gina. It’s worth the few-block walk.

While they won’t win any awards for best presentation or the tastiest slices, Spicy Pizza likely gets lost in the shuffle of the many pizzerias throughout Sunnyside. It basically is Lentini( ) Pizza with a new name. Same ol(pizza) ish. Regarding the pizza, there isn’t much to divulge beyond the occasional cheapo slice. An average, somewhat bland sauce is amended by their crispy crust and generous portion of cheese. Among the usual suspects in the pizza game are some interesting toppings that include eggplant, garlic, olives, and even a supreme order that includes 3 different veggies and meats. The non-pizza options, as much as I’ve sampled anyway, have been super mediocre. Meatballs over linguine weren’t exactly stellar and the few rolls and calzones were hardly impressive, they were just hard. There are hero sandwiches and burgers, but they are only marginally worse than the pizza itself. Most folks can get behind the reasonable price tags, but anyone looking for more than that is likely to be disappointed. A plain cheese slice is likely one’s best bet, though the desserts are interesting: they’re among the only pizzerias in the area to offer tiramisu and tres leches. Maybe dessert isn’t such a bad idea.
