We came here for brunch instead of Schooner or Later to avoid waiting a long time for a table. The food & drinks were good, however the service was awful. Other tables near us got up and left from being neglected. It took over an hour to get our bill paid, & no one acknowledged the bad service.

Such a bad experience here. Over inflated prices for bad food and even worse service.

First time here and was truly the best experience. The staff is amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and drinks were spot on. Thank you to Keith who was our bartender and the owner who was so incredibly nice to us. I recommend going on a Friday night or Sunday brunch. This is the perfect place to go to have some fun and enjoy some great music. Thanks guys!

10 dollar bottomless Mimosas! Lobster Benny was excellent. But best of all Emily was a delight. She kept our drinks full and gave prompt service.

This place was awesome. My friends & I were greeted by the bartender who was extremely welcoming, friendly, & informative of the menu & daily specials. I didn’t catch his name but he had a sweet mohawk. He brought us our waters & gave us his spiel about the menu & everything then we were greeted by our server Emily. She was great as well. They were both the kind of servers who really make you feel comfortable to talk with as if you are talking to a friend. The main reason we came here was because we saw on Unilocal that they have bottomless mimosas. I was surprised to find out the bottomless mimosas were only $ 10! What a steal! They bring you a flute with the champagne filled ¾ of the way with a cup of orange juice so you can top it off yourself. Just the way I love my mimosas! Lotsa champagne with a splash of OJ! My boyfriend had the bacon bloody mary. The rim of the glass was drowning in brown sugar & bacon. It was irresistible to stop licking the rim of the glass because it was so damn tasty. I ordered the ABC(avocado, bacon, cheese eggs) & shared the sausage gravy & biscuits with my boyfriend. I also tried the lobster bisque. My boyfriend ordered some kind of french toast with Nutella & fruit. I really should start writing my reviews the day of because I’ve forgotten the names of what we ordered but you will know it when you see it on the menu. It was all delicious! I forgot to take pictures because I was having a great time with the company I had. I am going back for sure soon so I will post pics then. Overall, I had a wonderful experience here. The only thing I would change is the lighting. I wish there were more windows for sunlight to come through or just brighter lights in general. Besides that, the service was awesome! As well as the food & drinks!

Best place for weekend brunch in OC. The food is good but the $ 10 bottomless mimosa from 10 am to 3 pm is just awesome. Service is a little slow when it comes to keeping your champagne glass full but still worth to come here.

Bloody Mary and Kale stack… Breakfast made in heaven! Great brunch and fun environment, not too loud and just enough TVs for all the football games. Highly recommended visiting!

** Summary ** THANK. GOD. for SAS! This pub single-handedly restored my faith in Sunset Beach as a worthy destination for food, drinks, and entertainment.(Combined total of booths and tables is about 10 – 20; smaller-sized bar that closes late and a kitchen that closes at 10PM.) ** Details ** I’ve spent the last few weeks going to the bars of Sunset Beach and have been let down by them one-after-the-other… until I discovered Schooner At Sunset. What a blessing! Really, I can’t stress my enthusiasm enough. Went here with a friend late Thursday night for drinks and dinner. I’m very surprised this place is rated 3.5 stars overall. Something tells me this place is under new management or is otherwise trying to turn itself around. If this is true, then it is succeeding. Full bar, live music on the weekend, appropriate décor, server was attentive and patient, food — DELICIOUS! I ordered the«lobster grilled-cheese»($ 11) and friend got the clam-chowder in a bread-bowl($ 11), along with cocktails. We both loved our meals. Lobster grilled-cheese seemed like a stretch when I ordered it, but man did it amaze. Crispy bread, shredded lobster, and cheese with perfect ratio of gooeyness/firmness served with a generous side of shoestring fries. Friend said the clam-chowder was the best he’s had — and he has spent time in Maine! Really can’t think of anything negative to report other than the fact that our table stools were a little too high(and I’m saying that as someone who is 6’3″, so I can’t imagine how hard it is to get up on the stools if you’re shorter than that). My only piece of advice to the owner: spend a little of your budget on better marketing as I believe too many people are mistaking your establishment to be a dive bar when it is definitely NOT! Go!

My fiancé and I nabbed a Groupon deal, we were excited to check out the place that replaced the old Harpoon Harry’s. We like Schooner’s better — much more fun and laid-back! We loved it so much that we decided to save the Groupon for another visit. The lobster mac and cheese is awesome(I crave it) and the drinks were perfect(mmmm, Jameson…) There was definitely a relaxed locals vibe, and everyone was having a good time. Our server, Bryan, was rad, and the next time we walked through the door he yells from behind the bar«Hey, you guys are back! «- love that. And after every visit, you must step out the back and take a stroll on the beach, it always adds to an already great experience.

Sweet place for mimosas and a beautiful view. This is the perfect place for a baby shower brunch. My friends and I always get the champagne bottle and orange juice to make mimosas. Food is greasy bland food. Sickw with the drinks!

I lived in Sunset Beach and Schooners was our local spot. What I liked about schooners was the size of the restaurant and the bar. They feel totally separated. So depending on your mood, you can sit in the cozy part of the restaurant, or the more lively part of the bar. Some of the other places in Sunset are smaller, so this is the place to go if you have a large group and want to do drinks and/or food in sunset. I would recommend you go for brunch. While their regular menu has several good dishes, I’ve done brunch with big groups of friends, and nobody has ever ordered something they didn’t like. They also have bottomless mimosas and really unique bloody marys!

My friends and I have come here for two weekends in a row. Our first visit was perfect and this second one is proving to be a little different. The waitress is swamped due to the bar being over staffed. For some ridiculous reason we are not able to order off any menu besides the brunch menu. This is kind of ridiculous because the brunch menu goes until 3pm. It’s 9 minutes from 3 and they won’t let the order be put in. The chef must be a pretentious a hole and this is a massive inconvenience because myself and one of my friends came here specifically for their lobster burger. The SAS burger tastes like fish and the brunch menu fish and chips wasn’t filling. The burger was over cooked and my gf couldn’t finish it. This restaurant needs to get it together.

This place is the bee’s knees! A friend suggested it for brunch while I was visiting from out of town. We went on a Saturday where we had some of the most wonderful fresh breakfast food and $ 10 bottomless mimosas. The staff was nothing short than excellent! Everyone welcomed you as if you had known them for years. Their attention to customer service details shows why they are successful. If anyone is ever in the area and looking for some impeccable grub and hospitable staff, this is the place for you! I know I’ll be next time I swing through town!

My wife showed me her empty plate, dropped her fork like a microphone, and said, «There’s your Unilocal review right there, bitch» She loved her salmon. She likes it well-done, and nobody(except Morton’s and Nick’s on 2nd) cooks it the way she likes it. Her cauliflower tasted like mashed potatoes. It’s rare when she cleans her plate. The wine pour was great and she liked the presentation, too(the only thing to improve would be the waiter saying«ta-dah!»). Although it was a bit salty, my braised short rib with asparagus on smashed potatoes were excellent. I cleaned my plate too. Maybe they make the food so good to save on dish soap. The menu was much more gastropubbish than I expected with a lot of items to try on our inevitable return. On our second visit, we got the recommendable Bread & Spread appetizer w/yummy goat cheese, caramelized onions, on thin(maybe too thin) toasted bread. I got the excellent and gutbusting Short Rib Grilled cheese which was like the kid version of the short rib plate. She would not order the beet salad again– the beets are huge, red, cold and sad, like the old timer sitting beside us in the bar(which, on our second visit, we realized is more chill but in a lively kind of way) The dining area was less fancy than I expected… a little more Taco Surf than Captain Jack’s, especially with the three annoying little bitches running around. Control your kids, people, or at least put Frozen on an iPad and leave em in the car. If that pisses you inattentive parents off, let it go, let it go.

Went here for a boys brunch out plus me. Wanted some bottomless mimosas and it was a great time! Service was wonderful, especially where we sat. It was a secluded area so we thought no one would serve us, but our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the lobster Benny, which I thought was delicious! Probably my favorite hollandaise, by far. Creamy and not too tart. And the pieces of sweet lobster over the top was definitely what made it. The pork hash was also delicious! The pork was savory and tender. Not a huge fan of bell peppers but that was easily avoidable. Love the place, can’t say no to the bottomless mimosas!
