Their burger which was supposed to be a world-famous was only OK at best. Very bland, no flavor. I definitely would not recommend coming here again especially since I walked out spending almost $ 20.

I’ve been to Ale-N-Angus several times now, and I’ve always had a good meal and a great time. I love the atmosphere, which is very laid back and comfortable. As others have said, the servers are always very kind and attentive. The burgers are what most people come for, and they are definitely some of the best in the area, but everything I’ve tried is good. The buffalo chicken sandwich, for example, is well above average, which is saying something for Central New York. I highly, highly recommend this place. A favorite of mine. Dinner and a few beers at Ale-N-Angus followed by an event at the Oncenter, which is just across the street, is, for my money, one of the best ways to spend an evening in Syracuse!

Still best place to get a burger or meal in Syracuse. Their mustard is amazing also.

Great service, I ordered the ceasar salad with salmon. Salmon was over cooked and dry I am somewhat a picky eater and just placed it aside as the flavor was good, just not cooked to my liking. I didn’t complain about the fish being over cooked at all us sent it back to the side of the plate. A woman later approached the table and asked if something was wrong with the salmon. I explained and she discounted the meal 4.00 which wasn’t necessary but was very thoughtful My only suggestion. Stop placing«warm food» on top of a cold salad. If you frequent fine dining you notice that the hot items are placed to the side of the salad even though it is to pare with the salad. When you place a warm food on top of a cold salad it makes it warm… Not appealing at al.

Really awful service. The two bartenders were more concerned about playing with the two toddlers behind the bar(which I’m pretty sure is an ABC violation) than serving their customers.

Ale n Angus is easily one of my all time favorite places to eat in Syracuse. It is never overwhelmingly loud, the staff are genuine and kind, and I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes for my meal. Not to mention they are dishing out some of the best burgers in the area. If I am every craving a burger I will not go anywhere else. When biting into a burger from Ale n Angus, expect the juice from the inside to drip down your face. They have found the perfect balance of a nice clean sear on the outside and tender juiciness on the inside. The bun is always perfectly buttered and toasted. I think a lot of times the bun tends to be the«white crayon» of a burger… in other words, people don’t pay much attention to it. People spend so much time thinking about the taste of the patty and toppings that they don’t put too much time into putting it on a good bun. But Ale n Angus does not slack in the bun department. You can also get your burger on ciabatta if you are feeling hipster or something. I could also write a whole separate review on their French fries… I have gone and just ordered fries before. They resemble a panco-like texture on the outside, and are like mashed potatoes on the inside. SOGOOD… so. Good. Anyways, let’s get to the really important part… which is their classic sticky burger. This burger is topped with a peanut butter sauce and bacon. STOP. BEFOREYOUJUDGE, YOUHAVETOTRYTHIS. The sweet creamy nuttiness of the peanut butter is the perfect combination for the savory angus patty and salty fat of the bacon. You will never look at a burger the same way again. So guys, if you want to find redemption when it comes to a classic, American burger in the city of Syracuse, this is one of the only places that will do its justice.

Ale ‘n’ Angus Pub serves up a pretty good burger, in fact a damn good burger They claim the best burger in the state, that my be a bit much. But it is excellent. The particular burger in question in the Angus Power Play Burger, 1 patties topped with prime rib. I’m not sure how much the prime rib offers, since the patties are so damn good. Still you won’t hear a complaint from me. Pair it with in house made potato chips and a beer and you have near perfection. Good Eats! Ale ‘n’ Angus is on of those cool bars that serves up good sports, bar food, beer and great prices. A rare combination in today’s world of chain food community bar want a be’s. Looking forward to my return meal.

This is one of the many great burger places in Syracuse and the atmosphere is very laid back. I had a salad which was huge and delicious but my fiancé had the prime rib burger and that was the best burger we had by far! It was awesome because of the combination of a burger patty and prime rib — meat lovers heaven!

I had the powerplay burger here which is a burger topped with prime rib. It was very good. If they used a better quality cheese other than american, i think it would have put the burger over the top! The fries were crispy and tasty. There were 6 people in my party and the service was friendly and quick. The prices are very good as well. 5⁄5!

Had lunch there yesterday with two friends. 1. Great prices 2. The classic burger cooked to the desired temp is sooooooo very tasty. The onion rings on the side were huge and perfectly cooked. 3. I stole my friend’s fries– they were mmmmmmmmmm 4. While I didn’t eat it, my friend’s pub wings looked good. Good service, I’ll be back.

I’m not certain of the best burger honor… but it’s pretty f’n good. Better than that is the cordial and efficient service. Parking is a little tough but ultimately worth it. Guinness on tap plus a shot of Jameson and Montréal scoring against Boston Bruins? It’s a perfect storm of goodness.

Meh… another mediocre Syracuse area burger, that everyone else proclaims to be fantastic. Burger was heavily greasy, as was the roll. Ketchup had an odd taste to it as well. Overall, there are far better burgers elsewhere in Syracuse. Décor is quite dated in this restaurant, time for some renovations.

The food is good here. However, the service is excellent– I don’t believe that you can find a group of more attentive servers in Upstate New York!!! For service alone, this place deserves 5 ½ stars!!!

Best burger in NY State? I haven’t tried all of them yet but the Power Play Burger is pretty damn good. Got it medium rare — pink in the middle, juicy perfection, fresh tomato and lettuce. Chopped prime rib on top just added to its meaty goodness. Decent size, and made just flat enough to be able to fit it in your mouth. But the real surprise was their peanut butter provolone bacon burger special of the day — who knew that would work out so well? Sort of a Thai satay inspired flavor — salty and sweet. Just needs a hit of lime juice to add a bit of tartness. The fries and potato chip sides were good and crispy, no complaints here. We came about half an hour before the kitchen closed on a Tuesday so the place was deserted — fast friendly service. Price is not too bad — $ 9.50 for each. Since it’s within 10 min walk of our place, we’ll probably be back to see what other things they can cook up!

The Unilocal review shows this place further up north but it’s actually just across the Onset center in downtown Syracuse. We just dropped by because it was close to the Oncenter. There’s a bar section and a restaurant/diner section. We sat at the diner section and the waitress was sassy and very Syracuse or at least that was the impression I had about Syracuse. I wasn’t really hungry but we saw a sign saying don’t leave Syracuse without having the best Angus burger in town. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Angus burger. We didn’t go around Syracuse testing which burger place had the best in town but the burger was definitely good. It was thick big meat patty. I ordered medium rare and the patty was definitely red inside. Maybe I should have ordered well done… Only thing about it was that it smelled a bit. But I didn’t care and I was hungry. You can get the burger with a side of cole slaw, home made chips, or fruit cup. The cole slaw wasn’t that good and the home made chips were good but some of them were not crispy and needed to be cooked a little better. I don’t know if they are best in town but they did have good burgers if you go to the Oncenter definitely stop by.
