I consistently think it is going to be better than it is, the food that is. The service is fantastic. The people are great. But for stoner food, I would expect something more.

In town for work, got to try this place out. Asked if I should get the buffalo chicken or Chicken Caesar and they suggested I get a «Hot Caesar» Definitely worth trying! Would come again! Super friendly staff and delicious food

The night we arrived, everything in downtown was slammed with crowds that rivaled those of the Gasparilla parade. This place was cranking out the pitas. They were short staffed and obviously overworked, but that didn’t stop the pita preppers. Kudos to the employees for maintaining friendly attitudes. The menu offers something for everyone: Kids items, vegetarian, and healthy. It’s all made fresh in front of you. I ordered the«local» — it’s an item unique to each location. My only issues with the restaurant and process is that you eat the pita out of the wax paper wrapper. Mine was so good and so messy that it required a knife and fork. About mid-way through my pita I discovered that I broke through the paper and was literally eating it off from the table top — not a happy moment. Perhaps they could offer plates??? I’ll be back, hopefully when they are a bit less busy. As you can see in the photo I published, bicycle and stroller parking are actually inside the restaurant. It’s nice to know your wheels are in view and safe while you refuel.

I love gyros!!! This place makes a tasty pita for a reasonable price. It is in a great location downtown. It is wrapped up so you can walk & eat, if you so desire.

Is there a negative 5 stars? I’m reading the other reviews and I can’t believe that people actually liked the food here! Ok let’s start by the falafel. I have NEVERINMYLIFE seen falafel come out of a heating drawer and thrown on a flat top and steamed.YUCK.should have ran at that point. what respectable falafel place doesn’t have Tahini sauce? Then the chicken gyro. OMGTHECHICKENWASBROWN… my two year old grandson wouldn’t eat it… we threw both away before we got to the pizza place two doors down. I’m middle eastern and I KNOWMYFALAFELANDSHAWERMAANDTHATWASBYNOMEANSANYWHERENEARWHATITISSUPPOSEDTOTASTEORLOOKLIKE. Whoever owns this place is playing the people of downtown Tampa for fools.

It’s always open. It’s always good. They hook up some fat pitas. Military discount without even asking. The employees are very nice.

Food: 5 service: 0 There’s literally nothing better than pita pit late at night after a night of drinking, perfect munch food they have really fresh ingredients and a variety of menu options. With that said, I had a huge problem with the staff, no one greeted me as a walked in, and it was minutes before I was even in contact with an employee, the lady looked like pita pit was the last place she wanted to be right then and took my order as if I was annoying her for being there. Once my food was done she immediately put it in a to go bag, when I told her it was for here she rolled her eyes and shot the pita out of the to go bag. I sat down to eat at one of the bar seats and I see my server go outside for a cigarette. She literally smoked it right outside the window just playing on her phone(very unprofessional in my opinion) I then watched her chain smoke 3 more cigs during the duration of me being there. She reeked and then just went to the back. I think it is very bad business educate for an employee to smoke outside of their establishment. Then I gathered my things and headed for the door where yet a again I wasn’t acknowledged by an employee. I absolutely LOVE pita pit but I would rather commute to the Fowler location for my meal then spend my money there again.

I went to the new one in Riverview off 301 and big Ben for lunch and had a Gyro and the pit wasn’t running so I was worried but it was great so I went back for dinner and had the chicken curry wrap which was also terrific I cannot wait to go back for the shwarma…

I had the buffalo chicken pita with ranch and spinach. It was delicious and would refer this fast casual to all of my friends.

Around 1am on a Sunday morning was our first and probably last visit to Pita Pit. We basically only came here because our options were here or Taco Bus. We are not fans of Taco Bus, so we popped in here. I don’t expect great service at 1am… but what we received was just ridiculous. They weren’t even that busy. There were only a few costumers and about the same amount of employees. My Husband ordered two gyros and a drink. What we received was one gyro with double meat. Then they had to charge us separately for the drink because we didn’t get that either. What the heck? The Gyro pita was almost $ 10 and was meh at best. We decided we were done with this place. We split our $ 12 «meal» and headed to Taco Bus. Really bad first impression Pita Pit.

I used to go to Pita Pit in college many moons ago when I lived in Indiana. In those days, I loved that place. This Pita Pit leaves a lot to be desired. There are so many other food options right in that area that I would just suggest going elsewhere. The service here is a hot mess. The chic that took my order also put my pita together. She had no idea what went inside the pita so she grabbed a menu… that had been on the counter… that had been touched by other customers. So her gloves were grody and just loving up on my pita with germs galore. She was entirely too concerned about flirting with her previous customer so serving me correctly was in the back of her mind. As such, she messed up my order and my friend’s order. The actual food was decent enough to save them from a two star rating, but the B team they have working there, will keep me from ever going back there again.

I’m not a huge fan of pita pit in general because I never seems to get the combo of flavors right for my taste buds. My husband on the other hand loves it, perhaps because it’s a relatively healthier option for eating out. The jalapeño ranch sauce is pretty good. This one, located downtown, is rarely busy. Every time I’ve been there no one else is in the store which getting our food very quick. The staff is friendly, a little sarcastic but more the less friendly. The soda machine is great with the plethora of flavors you can choose. The place is always clean. Not much to complain about. This one is even open late hours. If you like pita sandwiches this place is for you.

I’ve been to this location once. It was actually my first time ever at a Pita Pit. Staff: Friendly enough. It was chaotic in there, lunch rush and of course it would be packed. But they took the time to tell me about the ones I had questions about and helped me with the veggies in choosing. Environment: Well… lunch rush so I wouldn’t expect anything different than. The typical. The random trash that someone left but no biggie, I picked it up. Again, lunch rush lol(I’ve worked at restaurants before so I get it). Location: Perfect for those who are working downtown or downtown for the day. A brisk walk and you’re there. Parking sucks downtown so it’s just better to park and stay parked. Food: Pita was really good! So I give a 2 thumbs up lol. Perfect lunch spot, hit it up!

Look out Subway — here comes Pita Pit. I’m not even a big pita fan, but this format is wonderful. The online calorie app is very cool. I don’t go downtown too often, but I have already told several friends who work downtown who never visited this restaurant. The BLT and Black Forest Ham were great.

If you’re from out of town, don’t go here. You can find Pita Pits all over the place. If you’re a local, though, you should give it a try. I don’t usually like chains, but PP is an exception. All their locations have tasty and healthy food, and this place is no different. Imagine if Chipotle opened a pita chain: that’s what Pita Pit feels like.

I’m glad more and more places are coming downtown. Just visited the downtown location this past weekend and it was great. Was expecting it to be somewhat empty, but with the market going on just outside, the place had a steady flow of traffic. Service was standard, food came out quick and was great. I like they have the Coke Freestyle(I think that’s what it’s called) machine as well. Lots of seating inside, and very clean.
