Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Fine dining but I usually try to go for happy hour to take advantage of the reduced prices. They have some good options for the happy hour menu and I end up getting 2 or 3 items and a drink.
This time I went around the time of Mothers Day (not the actual holiday) and they offered a special. Steak, lobster tail and sides. It was so delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was great.

We’ve been to Ruth Chris many times the food is always good and the quality is consistent. Had another great meal last Sunday. The Shrimp cocktail is my favorite appetizer followed by the filet steak. Service is good depending how busy they are. Lets say I wouldn’t want to go on Mother’s day. Whenever we had a complaint we just let the staff know and they take care of the problem immediately so far we always left this restaurant satisfied.

Will not be returning.
My husband and I were extremely underwhelmed.
We ordered stuffed mushrooms, lobster bisque, and harvest salad for starters. We each had the cowboy ribeye as the main entrée. For sides we ordered the brussel sprouts, lobster macaroni and cheese, and potatoes au gratin. We finished with crème brûlée for dessert.
The crabstuffed mushrooms were over salted and boring. I ran into a bit of shell.
The lobster bisque was ok. The texture was more gritty than velvety.
The brussel sprouts had decent flavor, but were extremely dry. The outer layers had a papery consistency.
The potatoes au gratin was undercooked. I could barely cut through the thinly sliced potato with a fork or spoon. The flavour was nice.
The lobster Mac and cheese was sad. The noodles were dry in places. It was as if boiled pasta had been tossed into a ramekin and then was drizzled with cream and sprinkled with cheese and lobster as an afterthought.
The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly.
The hostesses were not very friendly or welcoming, their makeup was great though.
Our server was very nice and personable.
I feel silly leaving a negative review for a steak house that served great steaks, but having paid $ 230 (including 2 glasses of wine) before tip, I expected much more. Undercooked potatoes are hard to forgive.

We ate at this Resturant on Friday, the food, ambiance and the service was excellent. I would eat here again.
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed their meal. Our Waiter Juilo was patient with our party of 8 and he did a fantastic job. The steaks where great, the sweet potatoes where phenomenal, the lobster Mac and cheese was great.

Let me start by saying this is not my first time at a ruth Chris steak house. I have been to locations elsewhere. To start we were set at a table with dirty silverware. For the quality that is expected that is unacceptable. I was here with my family and my niece did not receive a kiddie cup instead she was given a goblet for her water. We ended up waiting a very long time for our food so we asked for extra bread to hold us over the attitude of the waiter was less than accommodating. This is by far the worst experience I have had at a steak house of this caliber. My patronage here will be no longer. Management needs to spruce up the customer services. The food is as usual 3 stars at best. Customer service was generously 1 star. Overall experience 2 stars.

Had the new spicy shrimp appetizer which was great quality and a true spicy dish but not overwhelming. Then finished with the 11oz filet. Sat at the bar but felt like fine dining. Food and service were top notch.

Second time here. Let’s face it’s expensive. So I expect amazing service. They did a remodel since I was last there, super amazing.
It was my moms birthday and the table awaited with happy birthday confetti. This place is all about the small touches. I have worked in fine dining so I know some things should be done. For example when eating bread is over with you are supposed to clear the ramekin w the butter, The plates that held the bread, along with the butter knife. Last time this was done. This time that didn’t happen.
The food was excellent as always!
Now the service was not as great as the last time, but it was Not bad. The other guy left us with our jaw dropped of how good the service was.

We brought my Mother and Father here last night for their 30^th Anniversary and they did not disappoint. I informed the hostess that took our reservation that it was my parent’s anniversary and they honored that the whole night which I was impressed with.
When we arrived I had the Raspberry cosmo which was tasty and sweet, really enjoyable. We sat down and decided to forgo appetizers for salads and soup. I had the lobster bisque and I tried my husband’s chopped salad. I liked the bisque but I will say I thought the chopped salad lacked flavor. The majority of our table ordered the petite filet, one got the stuffed chicken, and my husband ordered the cowboy t-​bone. Everyone enjoyed their steak, I thought it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It trumped Bern’s for sure. For sides we tried the mashed potatoes, potatoes augratin, and the lobster mac and cheese. I tried the augratin and the lobster mac and both were very good.
For dessert I had crème brûlée… can’t go wrong there! And they brought my parents a lovely plate that said Happy 30^th Anniversary that was really cute and tasty!
All in all we had a wonderful experience and was impressed.

Oh, how I love fine dining. Ruth’s Chris didn’t disappoint, once again. We chose to go to this restaurant to celebrate the anniversary of my husbands business. He started with a dirty martini, with extra stuffed olives, and he said it was delicious. I decided to try something new and went with a mixed drink, which was really nice. I can’t remember the name of it, but it was similar to a margarita. Would definitely get it again. To start, I had the harvest salad (yum!) and hubs had the French onion soup (I tasted it, also yum!). With dinner we had a delicious bottle of wine that was an Argentinian blend. It was malbec and cab and was freaking delicious… Smelled amazing! It wasn’t crazy expensive either. $ 59, I believe. Both of us had the 12 oz. ribeye and both were cooked perfectly! It’s such a buzz kill when your delicious looking steak isn’t right when you cut into it. Both were just right and smelled sooo good. For some reason it didn’t taste as amazing as usual, but it was still good. For sides we shared the sweet potato casserole, which is like dessert it’s so good, and the scalloped potatoes. The scalloped potatoes were good, but I think I’ll try something different next time. The weren’t amazing. For desert, unbeknownst to my husband, I asked them to write «You’re the man» on the plate, and it came out well! We had the chocolate lava cake, which was OK, and the white chocolate bread pudding, which was eh. Kind of disappointed in the taste of the deserts, but neither were bad and we definitely ate them! How bad can chocolate be, really?
Our server, Carlos, did a wonderful job. Very friendly and accommodating. There was a tiny hiccup that he didn’t tell me there was an up-​charge for ordering a dessert other than the one on the prix fixe menu, but when I asked him about it he took it off. Because he brought us a dessert menu to choose from, I thought we could order anything… He did inform us of the up-​charges for the other substitutions we ordered and we were fine with paying them if we knew about them in advance.
Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back. Would love to have Carlos as our sever again also.

Absolutely love it here! I’m pretty much a creature of habit so I usually order the French Onion soup, Filet (medium) and Scalloped Potatoes… and of course… a Martini! We always make sure we have dinner here any time we are in Tampa.

Highly recommend the veal ravioli! Amazing starter. The service was slow but our waiter brought us their house soup while we waited, which made us perfectly happy. I chose to add a combination of blue cheese, garlic, and Panko bread crumbs ontop of my medium rare filet. that combination of flavors can’t be beat. We ended up skipping ocean prime to come here and I’m so happy we did. Ranks up there with all the nice steakhouses.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House is by far the best dining experience I had in 2016. I arranged for the dinner to celebrate my friend’s birthday. In total there were 5 of us in the dinner party. Jacobs has the best service I think I’ve ever experienced. Not once did we feel we were being rushed through our meal. Nor was there a single item delivered to our table that was poorly prepared. From the top grade steak (s) — we tried a few different cuts — to the deserts to the service, it was an incredible meal.
The only downside if I can say there was a downside is that you need to book well in advance to get a table. I don’t think even a week’s notice is good enough.

Ruth Cris has always been one of my top picks. Loved their food any day of the week but especially loved their happy hourly specials. Sadly my most recent visit leads me to believe that customer service seems to have declined after managed never visited table or called back after having several issues including cold food and being rushed out by our server.
Visit was on: 2÷13÷16 as part one of Valentines day celebrations with my fiancé. Made last minute reservation through open table and was seat very quickly. I regret not spending Valentines day at Berns.
Pros: Great location and many memories of great meals
Cons: Food came out cold, server made us feel rushed. Despite my request for a visit and call from manager no one ever seemed to care or call me back.
Bottom line: Managment seems to not care about their customers which is a far cry from what I expect

Perfect food! Perfect atmosphere, and our waitress was impeccable! We went for my loves recent work promotion and we are going again in 3 weeks for our 5 year anniversary. I can’t say enough about this place, I just love it!

There is no way to give anything less than 5 stars. If you aren’t used to a class restaurant you will be overwhelmed by the prices. I can assure you it is worth every dollar spent! The staff made my experience that much better. Andres was professional, witty, and very knowledgeable. He tried to do more for us than asked of him. I have never eaten at an establishment where the food kept getting hotter with each bite. They even made Brussel sprouts taste amazing! The swordfish was at least 3 inches thick and my wife’s filet was almost tender enough to cut with a fork. Go at least during special occasions. You will impress whoever is with you.

The perfect meal. Brought wife for her birthday and our two boys. We got filets and a rib eye. Perfect steaks perfectly cooked served on a sizzling platter dripping in butter.
Sides: mashed (crazy good), regular fries (not shoe string) and mushrooms. All were top shelf.
Bread: piping hot w soft, whipped butter.
Dessert: bread pudding, ice cream (Hagen Daaz-​boys) and cheesecake (free for wife– birthday)
Suggestions: avoid appies and salad so you have room for dessert.
Ambiance: beautiful and recently remodeled.
Service: fantastic
Overall: the perfect meal. Perfect for special occasion. Oldest son has requested we come back for his birthday. We did dine early (5 pm reservation) and I am sure that’s why our service was spectacular.

A large meeting setting is always a challenge for any restaurant, yet Ruth’s managed to pull it off flawlessly. My steak was hot and cooked perfectly. Lots of delicious sides accompanied it. The service was excellent. A great choice for a business luncheon.

Really great place to go for happy hour! Sat at the bar with a friend of mine and had a delicious pomegranate martini. They’re ahi tuna appetizer was also delicious, and only $ 8 for happy hour… I glanced at the regular prices and probably would not have paid the 17 dollars it is when it’s not happy hour… However the pleasant bartenders and great atmosphere made for a great place after work.

3 of us went for a post work dinner. The others have been before and this was my first time. Our waiter gave the history behind the restaurant and points about the menu. Absolute top notch service.
We ordered 2 appetizers — crab tower and the ravioli. Very different flavors… but both very good… we cleaned the plate.
For dinner we each had steaks. I had the ribeye cooked rare. I am picky about my steaks… at other places it comes medium and when sent back comes back blue. This steak was cooked perfect… this is what it should be. Also… great flavor.
We shared some sides… spinach, lobster mac n cheese, potatoes o gratin. The table liked all 3… I think the potatoes were the best of the 3.
The atmosphere was great. It was good for the three of us to talk.
They had large tables and solo eaters in the dinning area.
I would highly recommend this place.

Swanky and hip. That’s how I feel whenever I walk in this joint. The piano man is always playing a fun new song on the piano and that’s when you KNOW you want to stay there and grab a drink at the bar. I like sitting in the bar area because it’s less intimate and stuffy. You can just relax, nobody rushes you in the bar area. =)
We come for the steak we stay for the fabulous drinks. This is me and the Feyonce’s go to spot when we’re in dire need of red meat, Porterhouse to be exact, medium rare and juicy. You go here because you know it’s going to be good day in and day out. It’s that comfort feeling that you know you’ll be satisfied when you leave.
You get several servers when you sit at the tables at the bar. Your water is always filled and they check on you all the time to make sure you’re OK. =)
Even when you sit at the bar the bartender is there at your beckoning call. Cocktail drinks are on point. I had a refreshing cumcumber and gin drink.
Plus side– They have happy hour so if you don’t feel like spending that money on that big piece of steak. you can satisfy your hunger with a burger or the steak salad (which is a total tease and i love it) they have specials and everything so don’t let the fancy steak house intimidate you go inside and find out for yourselves! They won’t bite unless you want them to.
