Amazing food amazing drinks amazing ambiance amazing service. If I dint have you convinced by now that please just go here this will. Oysters are always on point, they have the best drinks in the house there is one made with dry ice where your drink looks like you are in the middle of a lab experiment from 3^rd grade, lobster is always fresh and delicious, they have the best filet mignon for those ones that dont love seafood and the last and final piece of all of this is that they have an outside patio over looking a pond. Enjoy!

The food and service were great. We had the deviled eggs to start followed by the snapper, sea scallops and truffle fries. All of which were very good. The service was outstanding, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The down side was that they packed us into a room with 12 4 top tables that should of only had 6 tables. My chair was bumped at least 6 time by people trying to squeeze by. They also piped in music from the lounge that was so loud it made if extremely difficult to here the waiter or my wife. So to sum it up: good food, great service but not the atmosphere you would expext from a $ 200 dinner.

The hostesses, servers and waiters are very accommodating, friendly and well dressed. View was perfect, food was great for the price (truffle butter… YES!!!) and the atmosphere was very nice. I will say for such an upscale place I was surprised by the number of children in the restaurant. Other than that, I will definitely be back!!!

I was spoiled to a great meal today at Oceans Prime. We started our meal with a seafood tower for two. It was ultra lux! It had oysters, crab legs, shrimp and lobster tail. Then for main course I had the 14oz Prime Sirloin with a twice backed potato on the side. To kick it up a notch I asked for some truffle butter on the side with the steak. It was amazing. The service was excellent as well.

The food is definitely above expectations. The service is by far the best I have experienced. Excellent excellent restaurant. Everyone should experience.

A very nice atmosphere, very good food and most of the time service. The deviled eggs are amazing, sea bass is unbeatable and for a guy that hates carrot cake it went in a flash!
Highly recommend for a date night or event!

This was a nice steak and seafood restaurant. The interior looked elegant. The outdoor patio area overlooked a beautiful lake. We ordered the happy hour menu– a list of appetizers and drinks got discounted prices. The food was delicious. Service was good. But for the price tag, I was expecting more extravagant ambience and more creative menu items. This is a good place to celebrate special occasions– like birthday, anniversary or promotion.

I am excited to try this restaurant. I like to try this hype restaurant with $$$$ for sometime. I hope for top dollar with very good experience. You have a choice to valet for $ 5 when you are arriving or looking for empty parking in the lot.
We were planning to try the happy hour before our show in the performance art center. After we have sit down, the hostess tell us the happy hour item is at the bar area or lounge. But they let us sit at the dinning room for happy happy hour item. We have waited them to bring the menu. Later the waiter has come to ask us again then we wait again. We could have gone to lunge area and be done with it.
We have ordered the lamb lollipop, lobster roll, and the charbroiled oyster. The lamb come in three big pieces with good quantity. The oyster is only three pieces a bit less. The lobster roll I have better elsewhere. The taste did not wow me.
The ending to pay the bill is quick no wait. I was expecting a lot from this restaurant but did not get the value we paid. Good restaurant but they can be great.

I Felt Like a Millionaire Here. The Hospitality was on Point! My Wife and I had an Amazing dinner here!

This was my first visit to Ocean Prime and I must say, I was impressed. They sat us in a cozy booth in the lounge and brought us very yummy bread and drinks right away. They were having a Sunday surf and turf 3 course special where you had your choice of a soup or salad, an 8-​ounce filet mignon with your choice of crab cakes, the scallops, or shrimp scampi and a side. We decided to order one of those (choosing the French onion soup, the crab cakes, and the jalapeño au gratin) and then also choose another dish and share everything. We decided on the shredded short ribs over mashed potatoes with scallops. The food was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly, the flavor was incredible, and there was more than enough food for two. For dessert we had the chocolate cake with hand spun ice cream and I would honestly come here just to order dessert-​and I’m not much of a dessert person. I can’t wait to come back. We loved every moment. It is pricey, but you can easily split anything on the menu and still be stuffed. Or stop by for lunch to try the shrimp wrap, Prime burger (tillamook cheese and caramelized onions-​yum!), or the crab melt.

While I’ve visited other locations, this was my first time at Ocean Prime, Tampa. Same consistent, stellar service! We decided to come in for happy hour before the Beyonce concert and I’m so glad we did! Outstanding appetizers and drinks. The restaurant was sparkling clean with staff randomly polishing glassware and cutlery at every turn! Our appetizers and drinks were recommended by our fabulous waiter, Justin. He was a so nice, a fun time, and truly added to our experience! We endearingly named him the «employee of the month» and made him pose for a photo with us before we left! That’s how much love was shared! Without a doubt we will request Justin on our next visit. What a great time! Thanks for an amazing night OP!

The ambiance was very good. It is clean and contemporary. The shared space with the bar and the hotel make it a little awkward.
The food was high quality. It was prepared artistically and well.
The seating was a bit uncomfortable and odd. The seat was too low for the table. I felt like a toddler at the grown-​up table.

Wow! I have been to Ocean Prime for a few drinks in the bar and lounge but recently had the opportunity to visit for a full fledged dining experience!
We were celebrating a friends «big» Birthday. Reservations were made. Upon arrival, we brought in our own cake. This was not an issue with the manager or staff at all. I hadn’t thought to ask ahead of time, oopsie!
We were seated at a very nice table large enough to accommodate us all! The waitress was also very accommodating. All of our party hadn’t arrived yet so we were given time to peruse the menu and order some cocktails. LOVED the smoking martinis, literally! A nice change up to the norm, puts a little flair and signature on a big girl drink.
The seafood platters are custom. Just watch out no «prices» listed and can set you back quite a bit. I feel there should be a range quoted or in the menu.
Lucky for us it was Sunday, so the Surf and Turf dinners were in play! Quite a value for the $ 55 person. Never having been to OP, except for the lounge which can be quite a scene or freak show especially on Thursday nights. The steaks were to die for and the lobster tail and shrimp were cooked perfectly!
All in all a fantastic experience. I would not hesitate to suggest Ocean Prime for a big night out or just to meet up with friends in the lounge on a night we are looking for some entertainment along side something other than typical bar fare.

Love the windows overlooking the pond. Service was outstanding and the food fresh. Prices are in the higher end, but so is the case with most restaurants in this area. Definitely a great place for fresh seafood. Happy hour is great on the outside bar too.

I don’t mind paying $ 44 for Chilean Sea Bass but when it lacks taste I have an issue. The quinoa salad was also bland… Almost like having a meal at a senior citizen center. The drink was pretty good so that’s where the 2 stars come in. Besides that, you’re paying to say yo came… Won’t be back.

Ocean Prime has a lot of new competition in the Westshore-​International Mall area but they remain a shining gem in the high end steakhouse arena. New executive chef Adam & general manager Justin continue to execute excellence at the independent Cameron Mitchell Restaurants local Tampa unit.
Service is excellent by well trained friendly servers who have their act together. Food & presentation weather a business lunch or dinner, or a special occasion with your loved one is second to none. Their steaks are all aged and melt in your mouth. Fresh fish offerings daily are also top notch. Extensive sides and salads all made to order are available.
In addition, Extensive wine and liquor offering to fulfill anyone’s needs.
Don’t skip the complimentary sour dough bread. You will think you are in San Francisco rather than Tampa. Finish the evening with a house made desert and brandy.
If you have not been to Ocean Prime you do not know what you are missing.

Okay this is going to be a bi-​polar review.
Had dinner with a friend mid week. The wine list is exceptional, but our service that night was a little off. The waiter wasn’t as knowledgeable as I needed her to be on the small vineyard bordeauxs I was checking out.
Nonetheless the 2011 Chappellet was comforting and well handled from opening to tasting & decanting.
My being vegan was a little awkward for the staff (as is often the case in seafood joints) but I settled on a pasta primavera and a caprese salad with no cheese.
My colleague had a perfectly medium-​rare NY strip of ample size that even he, a devout carnivore, struggled to finish. He loved it and the fact it had a sizzling exterior with no overpowering seasoning.
It was not a perfect evening so, I decided to drop by and explain my service points to the GM. It’s this second visit for why I am assigning five stars.
First, it was his day off. When he knew a customer was coming in «to complain» he got up, got dressed, and drove an hour in just to meet with me for 20 minutes. Now THAT’s a restauranteur! He did not shove a gift certificate in my face. We sat at a table and he listened to me articulate the things that could have been better for our $ 500 wine dinner evening.
It was refreshing to have someone just listen, make no excuses, and take notes.
Then I left and came back for lunch an hour later. The service and food were impeccable. My double sized chopped salad was tasty and refreshing with the mustard vinaigrette. My client’s burger was thick and juicy and he bragged in it.
More importantly, as a surprise, the GM had a bottle of one of those bordeauxs opened for us to enjoy. It was a resplendent example of old world wine profiles. Medium tannins, well structured and not to jammy, ands great finish.
I’m a fan of good management a great wine restaurants. I’ll be back.

I cant believe it has taken me this long to finally try this place out. The décor and expansive areas of Ocean Prime make it a great venue for any type of dinner you may be planning. There are booths and tables in the bar area, an enclosed patio area and an outdoor bar/​dining area along with the main dining room. All of the staff we encountered on our visit from the bartender to the various servers who waited on us were extremely helpful and friendly.
Now I must say this place has some of the best cocktails I have ever had. I indulged in the St. Peach, which was a peach infused martini drink, that was phenomenal. I also tried the Cucumber Gimlet, which was so refreshing that it would make the perfect summer drink. The Calamari we tried for an appetizer was tasty and very flavorful. For my entrée the Chilean Sea Bass is definitely a safe pick and it didn’t disappoint. I cant wait to find another reason to go back to this place soon!

What a lovely stop we made at Ocean Prime to break up the 4+ hour ride from Jacksonville to Sarasota!
We arrived to the restaurant right at 5 when it opened. We opted to sit on the patio overlooking the pond and, while it was warm outside, the staff happily turned on the large stand-​alone fan near the bar for us.
Since it was a Sunday, happy hour wasn’t an option, which we were disappointed about, as select apps, cocktails and wines are $ 8 during HH. Aw well.
Our server was the bartender and she was a delight. When I asked for a cocktail recommendation, I told her that I love anything smoky and I don’t enjoy overly sweet drinks. She said she could make anything listed less sweet. Then she asked if I liked scotch and offered to make the Whiskey Clover ($ 13) with a super smoky 16 year-​old scotch called Lagavulin. I accepted her offer and was delighted when the drink came out. So complex and aromatic, SO delicious! My girlfriend ordered the Berries & Bubbles ($ 14) which has dry ice and, therefore, «smokes!» Very cool touch.
We ordered two apps to share: the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli ($ 13) and the White Truffle Caviar Deviled Eggs ($ 12.) Both were divine! The buttery sauce that bathes the ravioli is luscious, garlicky and decadent. My friend ordered a small side of it to use as a dipper for the piping hot fresh bread that arrived soon after our cocktails.
The deviled eggs were so yummy. Truly elevated comfort food. I commented «my Mom makes deviled eggs frequently, but not like these!»
Ocean Prime is pricey (even the drinks and starters), but go and treat yourself! I look forward to returning for happy hour.

I love love love everything about this place. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but it is so worth it. It is also a place to be seen if you are a true tampanian socialite. Inside bar offers live music that never disappoints. Outside bar has comfortable couches and open flames, makes it nice and warm in the winter. Happy hour offerings are amazing. Cucumber gimlet, not too sweet, not too sour, strong enough to make you feel it after a few sips. Of course, berries and bubbles martini requires its own special mention: fresh fruit, heavenly taste, buddy surprise. Tuna tartare is only $ 8 at the bar during the happy hour and is just amazing.
I have also tried various dinner items, from steaks to crab cakes, every single item was very well prepared. Sides are a la cart, but big and are enough to share for several people. So far I haven’t tried a dish I didn’t enjoy.
