Outstanding experience. The best steaks ever! Great service. I could not expect anything better for a birthday celebration.

What can be said that hasn’t already. This is how meat should be prepared and presented. Best steak in Tampa in my opinion, and yes I’ve been to Bern’s. Bern’s gives you an experience, CG gives you a steak to remember. I’ve had several here, all prepared to perfection. Server and staff second to none; very professional, knowledgable and friendly. Went for my birthday and late comers held up our table for almost an hour on a busy Saturday night, but Eugene was still the consummate professional. Even got a birthday card from them and a complimentary dessert. Will definitely return, and request Eugene’s section.

This is a really great steak restaurant, but be forewarned this very elegant chain steak house gives new meaning to the words over priced. Although my Kona coffee dry rubbed steak was excellent my mom’s $ 22.00 glass of wine was an ordinary glass of wine. The only way I’d go back to that restaurant is if I’d won the lottery. Although it may be true of all restaurant’s in Florida it’s worth mentioning that the ac made everything a bit colder than was necessary.

I ate here for my anniversary dinner last night with my fiancé. Not only was the service excellent, but the food was amazing. We love the lobster mac & cheese, the steak was perfect that I ordered, and my fiancé’s Chilean sea bass was delicious. They went above and beyond to make sure that they helped to make our special occasion a memorable one. If you were going to spend money on a good dinner and a high caliber atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with Capital Grill.

5 stars because we had an amazing dinner, amazing dessert, amazing wine amazing service and an amazing time. We recently had my office Christmas party here. Pulling up, Valet was full, parking lot was full, parking garage was full, so we parked far far away in front of a department store. Walking that far in my new Christmas dress and heels was not fun. Still, I know this isn’t Capital Grill’s fault so they don’t lose any stars for that. Walking in to the restaurant itself, was a completely different experience. We were greeted immediately by smiling faces which is always a good first sign. They escorted us to the stairs and up the stairs to our private room we went. There were several round tables which is great for talking to your co-workers. Immediately walking into the room a server greeted us to take our drink order and a second server with passed Hor d’oeuvres. Now I have to hug all of my friends with my hands full, but it was worth it. The servers were so attentive that my glass of wine was refilled twice before I even sat down. Maybe I was drinking fast, but they were on top of it! We did have a smaller menu then normal in our party room but it was a pre-fix menu with 5 different choices. Most people chose a steak, but wanting to try something different I picked the Herb Chicken. Yes my table made fun of me for ordering chicken, but it was very good chicken. Crisp on the outside and served in a light chicken jus, it was very tasty. The side dishes were also very impressive. The Truffle Macaroni and Cheese is probably the best Mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. I am usually not a huge fan of Macaroni and cheese, but this one left me craving another bite. For Desert, crème brûlée and flourless chocolate espresso cake. The chocolate expresso cake was very rich and only for sincere chocolate lovers, so naturally, I loved it. The star of the show, was the Crème Brulee. It had a perfect crisp finish on top and came with fresh berries. It was probably the first time in history that when sharing a desert with someone, I had no shame when I took claimed the last bite. Before leaving I ordered a Cappuccino. It was perfectly foamy and served with a swizzle stick instead of those not so fancy sugar packs. An impressive ending to our fabulous dinner.

My wonderful husband brought me to Capital Grill on Thanksgiving for dinner. He is so sweet and thoughtful to save me from cooking, cleaning and dishes. The bread was served first. It was the most fancy basket of bread I’ve seen for the meal. There were several kinds of bread and they all were reaaly appetizing. I had the lion and lobster combo, and it was delightful! The steak was cooked perfectly. It was tender, well seasoned, and flavorful. The lobster was amazing, I can say it was the best lobster I’ve ever had. It was juicy and tender. The flavor of steak and lobster were complimented lovely together. The service is just as deserving of five stars as the food! Our server was courteous, so helpful and explained all the Thanksgiving specials with details. The restaurant is elegant. The interior is classy and interesting. From the moment I walked up to the door, I felt like a VIP. We were seated quick, and our server was very good! They also offer valet parking. Highly recommended!

I was very impressed with The Capitol Grill. I can honestly say I don’t have a single complaint about our whole dining experience. I’ll start with reservations. I found out they were open on Thanksgiving, and I’m lazy & didn’t want to cook OR clean, so I called and was able to easily make a reservation in under 5 minutes. I received an email confirmation which gave me piece-of-mind. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff, and was quickly escorted to our table. Our server was prompt and knowledgeable, and explained all the specials in great detail. We weren’t quick to order, because there were so many delicious choices, but our server was patient, and checked on us periodically until we decided. The bread basket had an assortment of different delicious fresh breads. I almost filed up on bread alone. Instead of opting for the Thanksgiving special, we ordered from the regular menu. We started with a bowl of lobster bisque soup. It was very tasty, with large chunks of lobster. I ordered the bone-in ribeye cooked Pittsburgh for my entrée. It was amazing! Cooked perfectly, juicy, and delicious! I ordered a side of brussel sprouts with bacon, super good! I couldn’t be happier with the quality and flavor of the food. The restaurant is very elegant, comfortable, and clean. The service is topnotch! The price tag is high, but for the quality of food and service, the value is worth every penny.

Excellent dining experience from the atmosphere to the food to the attentive servers. The portion sizes are big so try to keep away from the delicious bread basket. I dined on lobster bisque, tenderloin with lobster tails for my entrée and a fine glass of pinot noir. Hubby had the caesar salad and the gorgonzola encrusted strip. One star off for my bisque and one lobster tail being just this side of warm, almost enough to send back the item. But overall, we were happy but incredibly full at the end of the evening. Capital Grille knows how to deliver an excellent dining experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Capital Grille for a work-related dinner, and while I may have left dinner a few pounds heavier than when I arrived, I have to admit it was one of the best meals I’ve had in months. A group of 9 of us dined here on a week day last week, and we began the evening with a couple bottles of smooth red wine. We skipped appetizers because we were too hungry to think about anything but juicy steaks, but enjoyed the warm assorted breads while we waited for our orders to come. While I typically prefer seafood, even at a steakhouse, on this particular evening, I was feelin’ a filet mignon. I ordered the 10 oz filet(smallest serving offered), cooked medium. As this did not come with any salad, I added on the simple field greens salad. The rest of my co-workers ordered steaks as well — some had the bone-in rib eye, some had the bone-in filet that was a special for the evening, and a couple others ordered the 10 oz. filet mignon. Everyone commented that their steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, and all of us were very pleased with our entrée choices. We also shared the parmesan truffle fries(HOLYINCREDIBLETRUFFLEOIL), the roasted brussels sprouts, and the grilled asparagus w/lemon mosto. Its impossible to pick a favorite side dish, all of them were basically licked clean. As if we hadn’t already eaten enough, we found it necessary to order dessert and I do not regret this decision for one second. We shared the flourless chocolate espresso cake, and the Warm Apple Cobbler with salted caramel ice cream. I’m typically a chocolate gal, but that cobbler stole my heart. Overall, The Capital Grille offers a great dining experience for a special occasion. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because there aren’t many entrée items under $ 30(I believe the least expensive item was a chicken dish for $ 29 and the remainder were in the $ 40 – 55 range)

The Capital Grill ranks amongst my top 5 Tampa resturants. I have eaten there several times for dinner and the dry aged steak is fantastic. The servers are very polite and are always professionals. Today was my first time trying Capital Grill for lunch. I ordered from the 18 dollar fixed entrée menu. The Maine lobster roll was exceptional and included salt and vinegar chips. The lobster roll combined the perfect ratio of lobster(very generous portion), celery, and mayo. The chips were homemade and were perfectly cooked. My entrée included the choice of soup or salad. I selected the clam chowder which was average. The texture of the chowder was too watery and the flavor lacked umami. Aside from the chowder everything else was excellent and this resturant works hard at maintaining a five star operation. I will try the wagu burger next time.

Why 5 Stars? Because it’s the best steakhouse in Tampa. – In a town full of high-end chains and subpar relics(I’m looking at you, Berns), what sets The Capital Grille apart is its old school men’s club ambience, superior service, and best in class food. First off, the real secret of Capital Grille is its outstanding wagyu burgers($ 18) for lunch. They’re juicy and large enough to split– and you should. The parmesan truffle fries they come with, while amazing, can be substituted for lighter sides like the green beans. For dinner, the French onion soup and clam chowder are both solid. The lobster bisque is also good with large chunks of lobster meat. All the steaks are outstanding. My personal favorite is the filet mignon with a Gorgonzola cheese crust and Cabernet wine reduction. For sides, the potato gratin is generously portioned. The Cheesecake with a torched-caramelized top is a reliable dessert.

Fancy lunch or a special occasion dinner to celebrate or just treat yourself to a good meal, Capital Grille is a sure thing. You’ll be treated well and treated to an enjoyable meal. The staff really complete the dining experience. The servers are sharp and attentive. John is my favorite! He is so professional but without a robotic role. Hostesses could easily be executive assistants. Everyone’s part is impressive … except the manager. He seemed so arrogant, but that shouldn’t affect your dining experience. They do great steaks and seafood. I love their lobster roll at lunch. It’s so fresh and light. The french onion soup isn’t overly salty either, just the right amount of cheese. It’s upscale dining, but it’s not stuffy. There’s definitely an old money feel to it, but it’s still comfortable and inviting. There’s something notable about rolling up to valet to a pair of lion statues at the entrance way, too :-D

OK so this should be a 5 star restaurant therefore I will rate it accordingly and will be a lot more critical than reviews for a family restaurant. Stick around, this is going to get juicy!!! It’s not as perfect as you might think. First the service. Our waiter was Chris, and you would expect service in a place like this to be flawless. Well, good news there. He was awesome. Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and talked just enough to make it fun but not too much to be annoying. He took great care of our issues, our drinks were always full, and was very attentive, without making us feel like we were a bother. Nice work. We started with the Steak Tartare and Mozzarella Tomatoes. The Steak Tartare was very good and presentation unusual in a good way. It had a layer of capers followed by a layer of hard boiled eggs and then the steak. The flavor was great, though the layer of capers was a bit too thick making it taste a bit too sour. The steak was plain. Many places add things such as onions, etc… And wish they had here. I understand many chefs feel it takes away from the purity of the steak. I did taste a hint of truffle oil as well which was good. Don’t get me wrong, I’m being very picky here. It was well worth the price. The mozzarella tomatoes had a 15 year aged balsamic vinegar that was simply amazing. The mozzarella was also surprisingly light. Not that cheap brick you get at most places. Very good. We the had a filet mignon and a boned in ribeye. The filet was very tender and cooked a perfect medium rare and very flavorful. The ribeye was 22oz and ridiculous, in a great way. Huge and again, glazed with the 15 year old glazed vinegar and large enough to feed a puma! Our sides were the lobster mac and cheese and potatoes au gratin, and this is where things went wrong. The potatoes were so salty, I felt like I ate a full table spoon of salt then jumped in the ocean for a drink. Horrible! I felt like my dog when he eats peanut butter, chomping and sticking my tongue out. Chefs! You need to taste your food before sending it out. That was brutal! The Mac and Cheese was much better but also too salty. Sent potatoes back. Had to try desert. Had the chocolate lava cake and coconut cream pie. The lava cake was perfect. Plenty of ‘lava’ as opposed to some places who only give you a thumbnail’s worth. The wine soaked in port wine cherries will blow your mind! A favorite of many, the coconut cream pie was disappointing. Too much cream which was blend. The crust was very good, but compared to lava cake, it didn’t compare. We also sent that back. The chef was nice enough to send us cream spinach and mash potatoes to make up for potatoes au gratin. They were pretty good, but nothing special. He also sent cheesecake to make up for cream pie. The cheesecake was very good, if not a bit too dense and heavy. If I could rate 3 and a half stars, I probably would, but has to be 3 or 4. Aaaaaahhhh! What do I do??? OK, so due to great service, and the fact that chef was nice enough to send replacement food for what we didn’t like without asking, will do 4. Posted photos of everything. If you liked my review, please like, and thank you.

Well, it would be challenging to find flaws with this establishment. Service, food, décor, value – they covered all the bases. From the moment you step inside, the hosts are smiling, polite and friendly. The servers don’t miss a beat. Water glasses are refilled instantly. Any and all questions are answered and the menu and specials are clearly explained. The environment is just so comfortable as the staff overlooks no detail. The food was exceptional. Beginning with a fine version of a Caesar salad which was an impressive version, complete with(optional) anchovy fillets and parmesan shavings. Sides included brussels cooked in bacon fat with nice chunks of thick bacon, lemony asparagus with a nice crispness-not overcooked. Parmesan truffle fries had such a flavor and crispness. I wish all fries were that good. As for my main, a bone-in ribeye, cooked to a spot on medium rare. Nicely marbleized and so tender. Spectacular! In fact everyone’s steak was cooked right to order. Not a single complaint or miscue in 5 steaks. They have their operation down as they should. Desserts were quite good as well. Nice variety of options. No detail overlooked. The layout of the restaurant is quite nice. A separate bar area with a fine ambiance set off to one side, with the main dining hall off to the other side. Somehow they capture the classic steakhouse look while keeping up with modern times and design. Typical steakhouse prices, complete with a la carte menu, however no items are absurd or outrageous, with the exception possibly being the shellfish tower app – though that seems to be outrageously priced everywhere. During the summer, they offer the«generous pour,» a selection of eight wines. For $ 28 you can sample them all in 3 oz portions or go with one or any number. An bottomless supply of 3 oz. servings for the duration of your meal. While I’m sure they come out ahead most of the time, after all, who could drink all that much while eating all that food, it’s an inexpensive way to try a sampling of several fine wines. I’m sure that under the right circumstances, one could truly take advantage and get vashnigyered.

The perfect spot for any special occasion. They did a fantastic job for our anniversary dinner. The Reservation was a breeze, you can call or reserve online, very convenient. All the positive reviews are very well deserved, Capital Grille offers a nice romantic vibe, it’s upscale with the service to match. The steak can hold its own with just about any other steakhouse in town. I for one could care less about dessert, I’m just not big on sweets, but I couldn’t resist their cheesecake, not too heavy and the perfect sweetness. Capital Grille though pricey, is the perfect evening. Go once and you will become an instant fan. It’s truly a five star experience, don’t let anyone tell you different.

As always this is the one chain that doesn’t disappoint. Stoli Doli to start. crock of onion soup was enormous, filet oscar I don’t even know where to begin, cooked to perfection. My friend had the porter house which was 22oz of goodness. A little pricy but worth it. Service is outstanding as well. Stuff to share. French beans and tomatoes, Lobster Mac and cheese enough said.
