Today was my first experience at Shish Palace. Very few complaints here but like most say yes the meats are dry. I ordered the shrimp shish. My shrimp was dry but the seasoning and straight from the grill taste made up for it. This came with a nice serving of rice and had a good portion of shrimp that would fill me up. I hope they can see what’s going on with the dryness of their meats Then I think they will be getting better reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at the bread other than Al ameer even restaurants in Dearborn give that premade pita bread that I hate! That’s a plus here fresh bread! Another reviewer noted that the fattoush was bland I’m not sure what they mean maybe because the crispy pita chips weren’t in there but I felt it was well dressed and I was happy that I had plenty of red onion(my fav). Now, for me the MAKEIT or BREAKIT when I’m eating middle eastern food is the garlic sauce. There has only been Al Ameers garlic that I’ve loved and nowhere that I’ve tried has anything like it. There have literally been not even a second place fav of garlic sauce. I’m always completely disgusted at how people enjoy greasy thick lard like garlic sauce like at shish garden or whatever located in Woodhaven. Shish Palaces garlic was the thicker paste but was well done not too greasy and packed with that garlic taste ! It does not compare to Al Ameers but finally there is garlic sauce that does not make me throw up or leave my mouth feeling like I just ate petroleum jelly! The portions are just right giving the price point for this place a thumbs up! If I feel like eating an Arab dinner/platter I will definitely come here! I’m not sure about sandwiches and fries(opt for Peepos) but dinner like plates is the way to go here. Also, I’ve never been a fan of Malek Kabob so opt to go here instead of there. I work close by which is great and will definitely refer my co workers here for a lovely dinner with GREAT and friendly service! The staff seemed very humble and friendly. I will definitely be back for lunch!

Came in for lunch and was very pleased with the service, quality and quantity of each of our meals. The fatoosh was spot on. Pita was fresh amd the garlic sauce and hummus disappeared! All our meals were great, and we’re happily taking leftovers home. We’ll be back … and we’ll get the baklava too!

A friend and I stopped in for lunch after running errands, and we felt like we got the start treatment! We were given so much free food, and even extra food to take home after we were done eating! Everything was delicious and authentic. So many places cut their garlic dip with yogurt or mayo, etc. but this place does it the right way, just garlic and oil well blended! The bread is fresh-baked and hot — I would prefer it slightly«puffier»(more airy?) but it was still yummy. So far the best food of this type downriver.

My sister stopped by to get lunch because I have a cold and wanted some garlic sauce. She got me chicken shwarma with rice and hummus and two cups of garlic. She got a vegetarian plate for herself. Like a previous reviewer stated, the meats were dry. The rice was nice and garnished with slivered almonds. The bread was great and the hummus only ok. She really didn’t like her vegetarian plate as it was missing pickles and a good spinach pie. We decided that the hunt for a good Middle-Eastern restaurant continues!

Was just simply UNDERwhelmed. I had the shish tray. All the meats were dry w/the exception of the chicken, the fottoush was bland, fried kibbee was absolutely nasty. Would have probably given 2 stars, if the place was a little cleaner. The toilet brush & plunger were just left in the corner of the restroom covered with dried toilet paper. The service was pretty lousy also. However, the staff were very friendly. Definitely made 2 trips in 1. My first & last!

Highly recommend this new restaurant. The staff go out of their way to make you happy. I was so very impressed with the high quality of the food and service. The prices are very fair for the generous portions they serve. Always have leftovers to take home and enjoy later. Everything I have tried has been delicious but I would suggest you try their soups along with your meal.
