The Habit Burger Grill

Went here yesterday. Won’t go back. Ordered the tri-​tip sandwich. Meat was tough and fatty and small portioned. More bread than meat. Girl who took my order very unfriendly. The other person in my party burger fell apart and she had to eat with a fork. Better places close by for burgers.

Yummy! We never mind waiting in line for these yummy burgers! One of our favorites in Temecula.

Okay, I just got back from Habit and got lunch for 3. After reading my old review I have some thoughts about today’s visit on Temecula Parkway.
My wife got her #1 combo with cheese and I got for my grown up niece and myself a Santa Barbara style with two sides of tempura fried green beans. Apparently my talking up those two items get her attention.
Food was as good as usual, didn’t have to wait long, in short everyone was happy. I would have gone 5 star «woo-​hoo!» rating but… well done char beef kinda disappoints. Maybe I should ask for medium rare and see if they do that. Not really a fan of dry, gray ground beef patties. Flavor with bacon, cheese and the usual tomato, lettuce, sauce was still good.

came here yesterday and it was packed. so packed that the line almost reached the entrance, but it went quick. my char burger was really good. including the toppings on it was really good. i might come back soon.

WHERE’s THE BEEF AT HABIT?
Visited the Habit today to try their new Santa Barbara style burger. Here’s a tip. Don’t. Got my burger and found that instead of two beef patties as advertised in photo, they actually use 1 ¼ patty. What?! I complained to the manager and she promised to get me a new burger. When it arrived 15 mins later, there is was again, only 1.25 burger patties. This is false advertising and unworthy of this place. Buyers beware!

With all the hype and high reviews, I had to go to this place instead of in n out. I ordered the mushroom burger and the Santa Barbra burger with sweet potato fries. I like how they have the condiment bar that lets me add jalepenos, banana peppers or peperoncinis. Is it an awesome burger worth about $ 5? I think not. The sweet potato fries fell short for me. I like my sweet potato fries a bit crispy and they were soggy and full of oil. I don’t see the hype on these burgers and my burger craving would be fulfilled by in n out. I’m not sure if I would come back here considering the burgers are a bit overpriced for a fast food joint. Granted this burger is better than most burger fast food places such as McDonald’s, Carl’s, etc.

Good chicken sandwiches, burgers and salads. Plus their onion rings and tempura beans are awesome. I love how they just just don’t burgers and I can mix it up when I go there.

I really like this place. I got the kids meal char burger ($ 3.99) and it came with fries and a drink. It was plenty for me because I wanted a small lunch and didn’t feel like stuffing my face with a full-​sized burger.
The burger was good and the fries were freshly made and delicious as well.
This place gets pretty packed at lunchtime so be prepared to wait in line!
Parking is ample in this parking lot.

I first had it in Santa Barbara before they expanded…
being a San Diego guy I’m so glad they came down here it is great they seem to all be about the same and that is the key to keep something like that duplicating is more of a challenge thin most restaurant chains can handle without the food tasting like plastic the food far from plastic never seems to disappoint it always seems to be the best example of what it is burgers fries shakes excetera they get your order quickly without rushing you what a great experience

The best burgers around better than In-​N-​Out and better than five guys char grill burgers taste very homemade best fries I haven’t tried to salads or shakes yet but those are next can’t wait to come back

What happened tonight? I ordered 2 salads and onion rings and sweet potato fries. It took 20 minutes for the food but the fries and rings were done after like 5 minutes. I saw them sit up on a tray for 10 minutes and in a bag for 5 more. I was taking my food to go. When I was given the food I didn’t want to have to wait so I didn’t say anything. They were clearly short staffed. Just like I predicted, the fries and onion rings were cold. When we went to eat our salads we were shaking our heads because both salads could fit in one container. $ 15 for what? I’m so disappointed. We eat here at least 2x a week. Frustrated :(
Was given some charburger coupons from last week’s visit. We went back again today and all was well. The female manager was there and everything was great.

So I work right next door to the habit normally their food is pretty good once I got a burger that looked like someone sat on it before putting it in my bag and the other day my Order of fries was more limp that a wet noodle, today I went to get something on my break, I have food allergies so I usually order a burger protein style (lettuce wrapped) but today wanted something different so I ordered a side of grilled chicken with fries and a kid drink and when I got my order the amount of chicken was pathetic I paid over $ 3 just for the chicken! Whole meal costed me more that an original char meal was not happy at all!!! Not sure if I’ll continue to go there if I was able to put the picture I took of the chicken served in the bowl I would but my phone isn’t allowing me too

We must of walked in at the perfect time. Right in between rushes. Food was good. My complain was that the tables were dirty. We cleaned our own table. And we watched others clean off their own tables also. Really? It’s your restaurant why am I cleaning your restaurant. Why don’t you come by and clean my house.

The habit is a favorite of my wife and I. We are glad we live only 1mile away. Come here for burgers (OF COURSE!). But their ranch is AWESOME WITH FRIES! Salads are pretty good. Love he albacore as well.
Only draw back to this establishment is the line. They only have 2 registers and it get busy fast. I noticed that even when it’s busy they commonly have only one register. It’s a bit frustrating, But in no way does it deter me.

The habit is right! I get a hankering for this place at least once a week. I love, love, love the burgers. Just the regular char burger with cheese is enough to get you hooked. The fries are fries but not the reason to eat there. I am hooked on the burgers so the fries are irrelevant. Good shakes and interesting sides like fried Edamame. The service is great with a friendly staff and timely food service.
Try and eat there off peak hours because they get busy. Since it is not like traditional fast food it takes a little longer to get your order, so be patient it’s worth the wait. If you are not satisfied at the end of the meal and you feel you need a little more of an insulin spike then try the ice cream. They will add things like Strawberry’s and chocolate syrup. So go and enjoy and say goodbye to normal life you will never be the same again. After all the place is called the habit!

Very fast, tasty good, and great service. One of the employees went from table to table asking how the food was. Cool environment. And perfect lunch spot.

I’ve always been disappointed with the Habit Burger restaurants that aren’t from Santa Barbara. This location was pretty good overall. We came right as they opened but they were ready to go and the place was sparking clean.
Santa Barbara Cobb —
Iceberg and romaine, diced tomatoes, avocado, blue cheese crumbles, crisp bacon, egg, and grilled chicken breast, with a vinaigrette dressing. It was a good salad, with plenty of flavors in each bite. As far as fast food salads go, it’s one of the best. I’d ask for the dressing on the side.
Tip
Stick with burgers and salads. I’ve gone with other menu options in the past and have been disappointed.

Absolutely never again on a Friday and maybe never again at all!
The sweet potato fries were way over cooked, dried out and cold!
The Santa Barbara Style should have been called the Sandy Barbara because it was super burnt and you could find less crunch in a sand castle, the veggie patty was as hard as a hockey puck and was drier than SoCal cornbread!

The Habit Burger Grill is good. They have more of a selection than your typical burger joint — I’m thinking specifically of In N Out, Burger Boss, and Five Guys. I liked the Habit Burger Grill better than Burger Boss and Five Guys, not I think In N Out still beats this burger joint.
Let’s first start with the line! Humongous, tons of people waiting for their orders. Maybe invest in a drive thru or something? That might help and be way more convenient than having to go in and stand in lone for days.
So the reason they missed 5 stars is because they gave us a hard time about ordering one of the sandwiches with «no meat.» Basically we order one Santa Barbara Style sandwich regular, and we wanted another Santa Barbara Style sandwich with no meat. So everything, but the meat. Simple enough right? I guess not… Because they made a big deal about it saying they «can’t do that.» Well isn’t it the same as saying I’ll take the blah blah blah budget with no onions? Or no lettuce? Etc… This was extremely irritating. They «had to» make a big deal about it and ring it up as a grilled cheese and add lettuce tomato onions avocado. So they are not very friendly to vegetarians in my opinion. You should be able to order whatever you want and say «no this please» and it shouldn’t not matter what the item is.
Overall though, our sandwiches were good and the fries were yummy.
