The beauty of the place is only trumped by the friendly Miss Val! She’s wonderful, smart, kind and funny. An assist to any winery.

Just spent a lovely afternoon at Veris… Wines are amazing and our wine maven Valerie was knowledgable, engaging and hilarious! She made our wine cheese pairing experience memorable… Most fun I’ve had at any wine tasting… ever!

Winery gets 5 stars, wines 4. Their sparking wines are very fun and surprisingly low priced, their peach sparkling one especially with big taste without being too sweet. Nothing mind-blowing about the wines except that they have really great deals if you buy by the case and in some cases can mix and match. They also offer wine and cheese pairings which is great and not all places do — plus tasting(without the cheese) is complimentary! There is a driving range platform where you can hit golf balls into the vineyard which seems like a lot of fun. The staff is absolutely delightful(if not overwhelmingly knowledgable about wine) so believe absolutely no negative reviews about them being rude and snarky — many people don’t realize that they are not the only customers in the room and can be really disgracefully discourteous to the staff. Again, the wines are decent but nothing spectacular, but I would highly recommend visiting for a change of pace — the sparkling wines are well worth the trip and the golf opportunities would be fun for anyone.

I had a great time at Veris Cellars-went wine tasting with a friend. It was my first visit to the winery and I was very impressed with the service, the wine and the beautiful garden. Val did a great job explaining our wine/cheese pairing which was amazing and really complimented each of the wines. We bought a couple bottles for friends(Which they loved). I will be back when I return to the Central Coast. Go now! You will love it.

To whom it may concern, I visited your winery today. I picked up seven cases of 07′ ben hogan & my spring shipment. At the time of my arrival there was only one other customer at your tasting room. I was accompanied by a good friend of mine. He came to taste your wine and to donate a driver for your customers. we were not only made to wait for a long period of time to receive any kind of service but, when some one by the name Val showed up. She had a negative attitude and not help full at all. I told her I was there to pick up my wine. However, after She express her discontent by saying:” It’s not like we have nothing else to do around here”.It was a little over an hour and after numerous requests that someone by the name of beverly, I finally got my wine. Needless to say, My guest friends & I experience the worst representation of customer service we had ever experienced! As a result of this. i am requesting to cancel my membership effectively immediately!

Veris is definitely my favorite winery to visit in Paso. Not only are the wine tastings(some of which are free) phenomenal, but they also offer wine tastings paired with different cheeses. Something else they offer that is pretty unique, is 3 flavored champagnes. I’d say they are pretty good and worth trying, even if champagne isn’t your thing. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. After our tasting we bought a bottle and one of the cheeses and drank it out on the grass. Can’t wait to go back!

My son and his wife just had their wedding here and it was wonderful! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Veris did a terrific job and helped set up things so nicely. Many of the guests raved about it. A Beautiful place to have a wedding! God bless you all for making the day a memorable one.

We had the choice of one winery for last Saturday, and Veris came highly recommended. We had a family picnic and let our kids play quietly on the lawn. Leah, our pourer, was kind enough to set out a table on the gorgeous front patio so we could keep an eye on the kids. After tasting, the guys hit some golf balls. The wine was wonderful and the beauty of Veris made this stop a highlight of our vacation.

Well I promised in my prior review that I was going back and I did. The tasting is complimentary here and the wines are very good with a nice variety from the usual types of varietals offered(variety on the varietals seems redundant, but it is not). I ended up joining the wine club and we walked away with a half of a case on Sunday. They also offer a very nice sparkling wine and got three bottles of the almond sparkling which is much better than the one offered at Trader Joe’s if you need a comparison. I also enjoyed the Riatta which is a sweeter Sangiovese along with the Zin which also was slightly sweeter. Since we are coming into summer I like to have a chilled wine and don’t really like to drink whites too much so this is perfect. Dana was our server on Sunday and even though I tweaked my leg hitting golf balls for free on their range that overlooks the winery. The experience was great and I wanted to note Dana because she was very knowledgeable on the wines.

Complimentary wine tasting. We did not know that beforehand. For a few extra bucks, you can do a wine cheese pairing. Loved the mango ginger cheese. Loved the wines too, I am kind of embarrassed about the number of bottles we took home from here ;) But what the heck, we were drunk and happy, and so were all the other customers. Also, most of the wines were in the $ 19-$ 27 range, very affordable.

We tasted at Veris Cellars on Monday, July 23, 2013. The grounds, atmosphere and wines are wonderful. The young man who served for us was delightful! We have tasted there a number of times when it was Jan Kris, it is just getting better.

The service was great. They had some good wine. The environment was very welcoming. The wine guide took us through the entire wine list. We ended up leaving with a sparkling Almond wine(as a gift) and a rose that consisted of Granache Blanc and Temperanillo. What was unique about this winery was the fact that you can rent golf balls and hit some balls out into the vineyard. Definately a place for those who are lovers of both golf and wine.

Veris Cellars is my go-to winery when I just want to chill-out with a book, a glass of wine and a beautiful view. It’s right down the street from my house, needless to say I’m quite the regular. The staff has always been so friendly and welcoming to me, even if I don’t purchase more than a glass — which means a lot to me. Not to mention they offer 6 complimentary tastes! That’s a rare find these days. I adore the Ben Hogan wines, the Zinfandel in particular. It is definitely my «happy place» wine :) Living in wine country, I’ve become somewhat of a winery snob. If I walk into a place and am not greeted or acknowledged in the first minute I’m there, I consider leaving. Veris Cellars has never failed to make me feel important and welcome. They treat me like they genuinely appreciate my presence there. And in this day and age, everyone could do with a little something like that.

This was my last stop for my day of tastings so I only tried the sparkling wines. I liked the Raspberry one but the Almond one was a bit too sweet for me. Our pourer was young and very nice. I liked that the tasting room is large and spacious. They also have a nice area with couches and nice restrooms. The best thing about this winery is… Golf! You can hit some complimentary golf balls into the cool range they set up into the vineyard! Awesomeeee!

Keeping it short and sweet… 1) They’re open until 6pm, which is later than most tasting rooms. 2) SIX complementary tastings. Check out the 05′ crossfire, which was my favorite. For the sparking wine fans, go with the Almond. 3) They currently have a three bottles for $ 24 deal. ANDNUMBERFOUR… A freakin’ complimentary driving range! How awesome is that? So here’s what you do: leave Veris as one of your last stops, when you’re nice and toasty. Have you complimentary tastes, and THEN go out and and attempt to drive balls in the vineyard. Staff is great and unpretentious, and a nice outdoor patio seating area. Oh, we’ll be back…

4÷2÷12 Review: Figured I’d give another review of Veris Cellars as I was just up in Paso. Another positive review of course. I’m a wine club member and always enjoy stopping by here. The staff has always been very friendly and attentive. This was the first time I got to stop while being a wine club member. They had a great wine sale going on and tastings were great. We had a great server for our tasting, but sadly can’t remember her name. But the general manager, Sherman, has also been amazing, and is the reason I will be doing repeat business with them and keep my wine memberships. They’ve started a lot of great events that you can see on their website. And I’m hoping to get back up there this summer for Bottomless Mimosa brunch with their champagne or their Murder Mystery dinner party. My favorites are still the sparkling wines. But I picked up some of their other brands this past trip and looking forward to trying them. 4÷27÷12 Review: Formerly JanKris, now part of Veris Cellars, this place is still awesome. They have great wine and friendly people to help you with your tasting. My favorites from them are their 3 sparkling wines flavors {peach, raspberry and almond}. If you want a special treat ask for their KrisKiss which is their port and some almond sparkling wine mixed together as an excellent dessert option. Also as they are now paired up with Ben Hogen wines, they have a large golf influence, and if you want a great way to have some fun, and also sober up a bit, hit a few complimentary golf balls into the vineyard. The wine is very reasonably priced. Most bottles are between $ 14-$ 20, and it’s really good quality, and if you’re a wine club member you can save even more.

They have a driving range out front! A FREAKINGDIVINGRANGE!!! Yes, after you’re finished tasting the wines(or even in between), you can go out and try to hit some balls. I tried, failed misterably at it. I managed to hit some of the vines close by, but in no way was able to hit the markers. My boyfriend ended up being better than me. Grrr… there goes my career as a professional golfer. Our guy doing our tastings was great. Attentive and knew his stuff. Wines were priced nicely. We walked out with a few bottles. Besides the driving range, the garden was nice and evem had a little gazebo. Since this place is next to my favorite place, I’ll sure to be back!

The only wine tasting room I know of that has a driving range. They will loan you clubs and let you hit a bucket of balls into the vineyard! Variety of wines. My favorites were their Ben Hogan line.

Stop #2 on our wine tasting tour with The Wine Wrangler Just a note — I’m not reviewing the wines as everyone has different tastes so I’m writing about the tasting rooms, the grounds and the staff. The staff here knew their stuff. Someone in another group asked some technical questions about the wines and the explanation was lost on me. They were very friendly too! The grounds included a grassy lawn with a gazebo and a rose garden. We took a few pics thanks to our guide and we eventually found that there’s a driving range. The tasting room offered merchandise ranging from clothing to food and of course wine packages featuring Ben Hogan.

Of the four wineries we visited with the Grapeline, I remember this winery having the NICEST servers. I loved how this winery gives you an extensive list of their wines, and you get to select whichever you want for your tastings(rather than a set 5 – 7). They get four stars, just because I wasn’t too impressed with the wines. We didn’t end up buying any. But it was nice to try the flavored sparking wines! They had a really nice location, a little small(it was crowded on this particular day), with a nice outdoor area. I would return again, just because they were so friendly. I haven’t had the best experience with Santa Barbara winery servers(i.e. accusing me that I’m farther ahead on the tasting list than I really was), so I really appreciated the service here.
