First time to visit . I ordered Chicken fried chicken and friend ordered bacon cheese burger. The chicken in the breading was soo thin i could not believe it. less than a quarter inch thick at the thickest part. Plenty of breading on it gave it a large appearance. The roll was something out of the day old department. Salads was good and my baked potato was sufficiently acceptable. All this with drinks was $ 27 dollars.

I really want to give the service a 5 because our server was great. She was friendly and we never had to wait on anything. This place reminds me of a old diner in a small town. The Décor is pretty basic and certainly the owner is a big fan of hunting because there are deer heads and antlers all over the walls. I could see this place being a local favorite. My husband ordered their 9 oz ribeye with mash potatoes and a house salad. My husband said the steak was as good as one you would get at Applebee’s. He had to use Steak sauce, so you know it wasn’t excellent. He did enjoy the mash potatoes. I had already eaten a few hours before we had dinner so I ordered their bacon cheeseburger with a salad. The burger is a big patty, it was served open faced with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles. I had them add mustard no mayo. The bacon was nice and crispy, the cheese looked like regular sliced cheese and was not melted at all. I pulled the cheese right off because it didn’t look appetizing. I didn’t eat the bun but the patty was good. I would have added some seasoning to the meat so it had better flavor. I would eat here again before I would go to any fast food chain if I had to stop here again.

First time here. The steaks were really good, and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. The staff were really nice. Restaurant has stood the test of time, been here since 1964! May not look like much from the outside, but it will surprise you!

This place remind me of an old school restaurant, in a good way. Dressings and sauces looked and tasted homemade. My wife had a prime rib that was very good. I had a steak and shrimp, also very good, cooked a perfect med-rare. Basic baked potatoes with all the trimmings. Fresh salads were good. Fried mushrooms for an appetizer were also good. We took a piece of chocolate ice box pie to go for dessert. It was like a regular store bought frozen pie, ok, but nothing special. Service was very friendly and prompt. Would go back and would also recommend this place to anyone. Good steaks, good price, good service.

Have you ever been a long way from home(2000 miles) and had a dinner that stuck in your mind as the best you ever had? Well its been ten years ago that I had the best 14 ounce rib eye I’ve ever had and it was here, today I returned and I must say I was not disappointed, the waiter was very friendly as was the rest of the staff, I ofdered medium plus and thats the way it came loaded with juicy flavor, the baked potato was perfect, I guess if I had to complain it would be the bottle dressing, hence the 4 stars. Not a fancy place but clean, lots of locals which always is a good sign, I am glad I came back and will look forward to the next visit…

Don’t go here for fine dining just a place off the freeway. Plastic table cloths and GOOD food. Had a good tasty ribeye, with some delicious ribs. Good mash potatoes and Gravy. Top it off with GREAT chocolate pie and an excellent piece of cheese cake. Now remember not a fancy place by no means but good food, we’ll go back.

Horrific service — waitress appeared bored /offended taking our order. The unsweetened ice tea was so watered down it tasted like dirty water. The sweet ice tea by comparison tasted like it should. Waitress finally replaced it for another tea that tasted the same… Fried pickles and onions very heavy on breading. Burgers while not greasy were gross with processed cheese. Fries covered with seasoned salt were not only cold but also inedible. Bathrooms are filthy. Net: Whataburger a gourmet restaurant by comparison

Left feeling like I wanted my $ 50 dollars back. My husband ordered the«Terrell favorite» 8oz ribeye was more like 5oz thin as a board. I ordered chicken fried chicken. Thin piece of Chicken was fried to a burnt crisp. The cheeseburger and salads were good but that’s it! Won’t go back. Ever.

You don’t need expensive décor when you have awesome food and great service! My rib-eye was spot on medium rare just like I like it! Baked potato was loaded and salad was fresh with fresh grated cheese! Definitely will be back!

How this place has this many stars is just plain crazy. The side salad was brown on the edges and looked many days old. They slipped so much cheese on the salad that you can hardly see the leaves. They only skimped on the tomatoes. My onion rings were burned as well as the the main course. The chicken tenders were fine but average at best. Overall not a good place for lunch.

We have been living in town for years and this is a keeper. As you may know from my Unilocal in the past .I don’t hold back. so here we go… My choice is typically the Cowboy Chicken and yes it is… mmmmmm. Flame grilled and juicy lucy ! Have to admit that its difficult to find a good salad in this town… but here it is, crispy, fresh, and covered in cheddar and tomatoes, if your bold drench that baby in some ranch and crush some crackers on it… nothing but kudos. The potato is good eats, the buttery warmed biscuit is a great topper. My son had what he calls the Chicken Steak(Chicken Fried steak) and loves it, and if he is feeling cagey he goes for the Bacon Cheeseburger. If the kid in question is under 11⁄100 lbs you may want to convince him/her to stick with the child portion as the full size competes with the best of em. But I don’t mind because by 11 pm, he will be asleep and whatever fries and B CB is left its all mine. We have met almost all the servers and the owner at one time or another, and I recall once we rolled in there late on our way home from Dallas and they were kind enough to keep the place open until we finished our meal.(TOOBAD they are NOTOPEN on MONDAYNIGHTS) but that’s okay, since we are local we can wait for this kind of home cooked goodness. Oh yeah before I go, I am a son of a professional saucier and that said, I have eaten the best steaks in 30 of this country’s 50 states, …I aint gonna pull yer leg on this… The Steaks here are what they should be… variety, consistently good cuts of beef, cooked and served with pride like you would expect in the heart of Texas. The only warning is… you are gonna feel full, and comfy when you walk outta this place … so if you go pay for tickets to the movies at Tanger plan on falling asleep in you chair. and wake up ner midnight asking«what happened at the end» …just sayin.

My meal started with a simple salad made from garden fresh chopped leaf lettuce, succulent perfectly firm yet flavorful wedges of tomato and graded cheddar. Then the friendly old waiter brought out the steak and potato. I ordered an 8 oz sirloin and loaded baked potato. Based on the price, location and décor(and the A1 on many tables) I didn’t expect much more than a mediocre overcooked steak. I was happy to be wrong my steak was flavorful and juicy(although slightly salty from their marinade) and much larger than I expected for an 8 oz cut(I usually eat strip steaks or filets that are cut much thicker). The baked potato was phenomenal. I was tempted to order a second one in lieu of desert but was too full. If you like bacon bits be sure to ask, even if you order a loaded or all-the-way potato(they have a .75 up charge or it). The roll was pretty good but came with whipped margarine instead of butter. The only thing I can’t recommend from my visit is the men’s restroom. Despite what seemed to be a new toilet, sink, and floor tile, this bathroom had the odor of thirty years soaked in the walls. Better use the bathroom at a nearby chain restaurant, but please don’t let that dissuade you.

Have you ever had one of those meals where you were absolutely effin’ starving so you aren’t sure if it was amazing or if you were just really effin’ hungry? I had that experience here on Saturday. After spending all day at First Monday in Canton we were starving, and I do mean absolutely ravenous. We arrived about 4pm and we were about the only patrons in the place. We all had a cheeseburger and I gotta say it was the best cheeseburger I may have ever had(and trust, I’ve had some cheeseburger cheeseburgers in my day). It was large, not dripping with grease, had great meat flavor, toasted crunchy bun, melty cheese. Truly fantastic. Service was sweet and the food was a little slow but that’s ok. The farm implements, old taxidermy on the walls and checked table cloths gave the place a homey feel. We left stuffed and happy and I’ve been dreaming of that cheeseburger ever since. Noms.

I was in town for work, and staying at the Holiday Inn nearby. I’m always on the road, so I look for the local mom and pop places. This was it! I was going to try the chicken fried steak since others suggested it, but it was Tuesday and the special was beef tips over rice. I loved it! The beef tips were so tender, the gravy was delicious, and the salad and loaded potato were perfect. All of that and I left stuffed with leftovers… and I only paid $ 11 before the tip. My only complaint is they don’t serve beer or alcohol. However… I was told its BYOB, and there is a liquor store next door. I might be visiting that liquor store tomorrow, and maybe trying the chicken fried steak!
