A bunch of us were talking about places we liked to eat at and I told them about Lucky’s Dog House. My friends and I used to go to the one in Moorpark years ago and then it closed but my wife and I were walking through the Janss Mall and saw Lucky’s Dog House and wondered if this was the same place so we went in and YES, it was. It even had the same statue of the hot dog guy I remembered in Moorpark. The girl behind the counter was very nice(i think it was the owners daughter or niece) but I love their food, never ever had a problem, I will always go back.

I love this place. Its your basic hole in the wall joint that has been around longer than most of the people reviewing here. Service is basic so dont expect the Ritz Westlake moms. Lol Good comfort food and worth a stop when in the Janna Market place. Try the Pattie Melt if you like Rye. Enjoy!

Lucky’s Dog House is my favorite place to eat at in the Janss Marketplace! The menu is quite extensive, and customer service is super friendly. While there is limited space to sit down inside, there are tables right outside of the location. I especially enjoy the protein burger wrapped in lettuce. If you are looking for fast, friendly service and awesome food, check this place out!

We love this hole in the wall in Jann’s Mall! Burgers and dogs so yummy and its family owned and ran by father and son. So when your wanting a great burger or chili cheese dog, give them a try! Their fries are great too!

My wife and I were in the area for a couple errands so we were looking for a good, simple place to grub for lunch. Found this place with good reviews. It’s in an outdoor mall. Small place with a few sets of tables and chairs. Good service. I had a street dog, my wife got the Kansas dog. Both tasted just fine. The dogs had a nice snap. We also shared chili cheese fries. The fries were(temperature) hot and fluffy. The chili was flavorful but the cheese was shredded and didn’t really melt on top. We would go back.

Love their food here. Lucky dog combo is delicious! They are pretty quick for the most part. I wish their interior was a bit more spacious because I don’t always want to eat outside when I go there. Friendliest staff ever as well.

I’m giving this little place 5 stars because it delivers everything it offers. I love the fact that it is an independently owned non flashy hot dog joint. The food so good. The bacon wrapped chili dog is so good. Nice staff.

Best, I mean best! Most juicy, most flavorful chicken sandwich add cheese around town! When I’m out of town I miss it. I don’t eat beef, so I search for the alternative, which is chicken. I’ve lived in Ventura/La area all my life and nothing else seems to compare to this, it’s the best! Thanks moma and pops for making such great food. I’ll be coming back for that chicken sandwich.

This place used to be located in Moorpark, but I never tried it when it was there for whatever reason. I only got to try it recently because my boyfriend said I just HAD to eat there. First off, the food is greasy, but I guess you kind of expect it stepping into this place. It’s a small little shop in Janss Marketplace. They have a lot of choices on their menu. It’s messy to eat any chili here. The hot dogs are pretty good, but they are way overpriced for hot dogs. I got a plain hot dog for $ 4? What the — ? The service is really friendly and the food comes out really fast. This is a dangerous place as it’s right near my gym. I don’t know if I’ll come back, but it can be a temptation if you’re starving post workout.

Simply the BEST steak sandwich you’ll ever have. The owners are very sweet too, always with a smile on their faces. The food is fresh as well. This is my spot to go too when ever I wanna have a very yummy steak sandwich.

This is a little hot dog restaurant tucked away in the Jann’s shopping center. I really like their thick, soft french fries and their grilled chicken sandwiches. Their chicken nuggets are good too. Conveniently located very close to the ice cream place if you have room enough for dessert(I generally do not). Good prices and friendly staff. VERY small indoor seating area, or you can sit outside under the patio umbrellas. A/C can make it cold if you sit inside(good in summer but not in winter).

Lucky’s is a good place to grab a quick bite while shopping at shopping at Janss mall. Their hot dogs and burgers are solid. French fries are also good, but I would skip the salad. It’s also nice that they have small hot dogs for kids.

Boring dog Menu had about 5 choices of dogs and 10 for burgers. I ordered the moorpark dog which was to have chili, cheese and jalapeños. Nothing about this dog was elevated beyond what a 10 year old could do. It contained a typical grocery store bun, steamed dog, 1 teaspoon of flavorless chili, a tablespoon of chopped onions, some shredded cheese and about 6 sliced of canned jalapeños. They didn’t even bother to melt the cheese. Made Der Wienerschnitzel seem like a five star establishment.

It had been a while since I last shopped the Jann’s Market Place so I was surprised to see Lucky’s Dog House open for business. We had the chili dog, corn dog, and curly fries and ate outside on some metal patio furniture. The corn dog wasn’t anything special and it didn’t taste like it was a hand dipped corn dog at that(more like the frozen variety). The Hebrew National chili dog was good although the chili was bland and lacked punch. The fries were also good but nothing spectacular. Overall Lucky’s Dog House was a nice place to enjoy some junk food while people watching on a sunny Saturday afternoon. I don’t believe Lucky’s is a place I’d make a special trip to for lunch but if I’m ever in the Jann’s Market again and I happen to be hungry I’ll probably be back again.
