If you’re looking for stereotypes to come true, this is the place to be. There are always about the BMV the being pretty horrific, but this really does take the cake. It seems that when I go in there there is a slight power struggle. You would think that it’s among the employees, but it’s the employees against the people. I went online and did all my research for what I need to do to renew my license. I had no holds, had no fines, had nothing at all. I went up to the counter to get this taken care of, I said my hello and let the lady know what I need to do. As she was doing some paperwork in clicking on the screen, I asked her how she was doing and how her holiday was as I didn’t have any questions about the process. She glanced up from the screen, stopped working, answered my question then asked if I had any others. I was slightly shocked. I know it’s a little past the holidays, but the holiday spirit left her pretty quickly! I did have one extra question as I wanted to know why a new license was cheaper then renewing your license, but I kept my mouth quiet! Needless to say, I didn’t ask any other questions. I was looking to get out of there as fast as I could. On a good note, she didn’t take a pretty decent photo of me. And apparently, if you ask nicely they will let you see your photo before they put it on your license. I would imagine they would retake it if you asked, but that would also involve asking a question — and well, they apparently don’t like you asking questions.

I get it, it’s the BMV. However, if you get lucky enough to get the very nice lady at Heatherdowns(she’s the one on the far left with the blond hair, maybe 50?), your experience is actually quite pleasant and you will actually get CUSTOMERSERVICE. I have been lucky enough to have her each time I’ve been in(3 times total). She was very surprised when I asked how she was, given that nobody ever asks her that. See, a little kindness doesn’t hurt. I also remember her being a big Buckeye fan, who was a bit bitter about having to work a Saturday in the fall. But hey, I get it. :)
