Well, I have found my new hair spot! Today I received a color, cut, and blow out from Pedro, the master of all things hair (I follow Pedro — where he goes, I go). He kindly introduced me to Melody, who is so nice, great to talk to, and made me feel comfortable. I was greeted warmly with coffee and a SUPER comfortable chair. The décor in this place is incredible, and extremely inviting. Beautiful mirrored dressers for supplies, wooden/​rustic shelves, all completed with accents of turquoise to match some of the products. 3 hours went by SO fast and the energy everyone has in the salon is amazing. I will definitely be back! Thank you Pedro and everyone and Cole Michaels!

Luckily my hair stylist left there. I’m telling you, negativity in that place! Parking is a pain and the new owner hassled me about wifi… make your wifi available to the clients! The owner kept interrupting my stylist, poor lighting… it went from a cute, trendy, happy place to a negative atmosphere when they got a new owner. It became pretty apparent people weren’t happy there. Luckily, I love Wendi, who is now at Tina K. Skin studio in Studio City-​intimate, upbeat vibe and parking is sooo much better (full service med spa, manicures to die for!!) Not sure why Wendi left, but am glad she did :) If you’re looking for an amazing colorist, look up Wendi at her new shop!

RT: Groupon for Wax with Gwen
She did not finish her wax, asked me to shave instead stating that my skin was too sensitive (it was not, i’ve been waxed before) but charged me anyway for the unfinished service. Did not have a soft or hard wax and only used strips, and also implied I get more groupons and come back. Unequipped and unprofessional in this regard. Waste of my money and time.
Look elsewhere for your waxing needs guys or girls.

Oh man. I am so glad I found this salon, and Jessica in particular. I came in today, and immediately felt relaxed and comfortable in their cozy studio. The salon itself is super cute and hip. They offer you hot tea or coffee, and have awesome products for sale in the lounge area.
But the important stuff — Jessica completely transformed my look. TRANSFORMED!
Amazing color, great cut, and awesome styling.
Will definitely be back.

Gwen is a condescending person. My biggest pet peeve is getting talked down to. Took my months to get in with her then I finally got the appointment and she asked how many weeks since my last wax. I should’ve lied and said 5 because I told her it had been 3 and a half and she said she wouldn’t be able to wax me today. She asked if I could wait a week or two but I said I couldn’t and honestly I was filming something in a couple of days and NEEDED to be waxed for it and it was important. She didn’t care that I needed it for something particular. Also she didn’t have another open appointment for a month. My friend thinks she just didn’t want to do it because it was a groupon that I had. But I immediately drove to another place and she said my hair growth was perfect because I didn’t have ANY stubble which means the entire hair growth had cycled and another week or two it’d probably be toooo long.
I just believe that the customer is always right. If I have hair an inch long and I want waxed… then just wax me… don’t treat me like a 5 year old learning her numbers. Gwen literally said «I hope one day someone will get through to you»…

Melody has been cutting my hair every four days or so, for the last, I don’t know, 8, 9 years… She’s been FAN-F&#%ING-TASTIC — so much so, that even after I moved to the city (where there’s a billion hair salons), I still take the time to commute to the valley to get my hair done right! Always a quality cut, with good conversation in a chill environment. Highly recommended for all — boys and girls of all ages.

This Salon is AMAZING! I get my waxing done here by Gwen for over 2 years now! I first found her on Groupon and she was so amazing I’ve stayed with her ever since. She’s always professional and makes me feel comfortable, not to mention my eyebrows and down below are always on point! Do yourself a favor and go to her, you won’t be sorry!

OMG Jessica is seriously the best! went here for the first time today and it was amazing. I had gotten a terrible haircut another salon a few weeks back that needed Jessica fixed all my curls and made the mess look awesome. She also gave me some great tips on styling my curls without being pushy about product. Also another nice thing about the salon is the chairs at their hair stations are super comfy! I’ve definitely found my new place. If you’re looking for a great curl specialist go to Jessica. She really knows what she’s doing.

I’ve been going to Gwen for 3-​ish years (upon a raving recommendation from a trusted BFF) and my life has changed. She’s a great friend who can give you a glorious facial, tend to your brows and lashes, and wax any of your bits. She’s my one-​stop-​shop for beautification.
As a bad wax survivor, I was hesitant to relive the experience, but Gwen is a magician. She knows what she’s doing. Pain is minimal, there is pleasant conversation to distract you, and it’s over before you’re even done discussing the latest episode of AHS: Hotel.
Alway clean, professional, and punctual. If she’s running behind (which is never) she lets you know. Booking appointments is easy and she’s great about letting you know if there are cancellations so she can get you in sooner if needed. My only hesitation in recommending her so highly is if y’all listen to me, it’s going to be harder for me to get an appointment!

Getting waxed is not exactly a pleasant experience, but Gwen makes it tolerable. I was nervous the very first time I walked in and she was able to quickly put me at ease. I was glad at how welcoming and down to earth she is. I recommend this place for sure if you need a wax.

The best facial ever! Thank you, Gwen!!! She’s got a soft touch and made it a relaxing experience. She also gave me some skin care tips. I left feeling really good and my skin was glowing. You can get your waxing done with Gwen too, or see one of the stylist for hair & color.

This place used to be Blue Velvet Salon and I’ve been a customer since before the change over. I originally found my esthetician, Gwen, through the fate of Groupon, but have been going back every 5 weeks for atleast 2 years!
When the salon changed over to Cole Michaels Salon everything got a face lift. The salon is chic and clean, they have a great booking system complete with reminder emails AND texts and of course Gwen is still there! The staff is super nice, the rooms are clean, it’s bright and welcoming, and parking is never a problem.
Before I bought that Groupon I had never had a full Brazilian, my wax experience has been only bikini and eyebrow. Gwen was rad from the get go, made me comfortable, and it was not as painful as I feared. I bought the one time Groupon, but have been going back regularly ever since.
I’m sold! I would recommend Gwen and Cole Michaels Salon to anyone and everyone! In the past I have pretty much always decided on waxes, massages, pedicures, etc based on price and location, but once I found this place, I’m sticking with it!
Seriously, go to Cole Michael’s Salon — It’s 5 stars for real!

This salon is adorable! They’ve got cute décor and inspirational beauty sayings on the wall. I always feel good when I walk in and walk out thanks to the awesome vibe the staff at the salon gives!
I have been going to hairstylist Melody for more than a year and would definitely recommend her to everyone. She does amazing color and beautiful hairstyling. Even when I don’t know what I want done to my hair, Melody recommends what she feels is best for me and it comes out perfect every time. She keeps up with the newest trends in the hair world and is ultra creative. I always feel like a million bucks when Melody colors and styles my hair!
Overall, I would give this place an A++ for the décor, chill vibe and talented staff. Definitely check out Cole Michaels Salon!

This salon is so cute and clean. On top of that everyone makes you feel like you’re at home. The energy and hospitality I’ve experienced here I have never experienced any where else.
Jessica is amazing!!! She is a curly hair specialist and she deep conditioned my hair and gave me a great cut. My hair looks and feels great. She is very experienced and knows exactly what she is doing!!! Thanks Jessica, you’re the best!!!

The space is incredibly inviting and peaceful, as well as clean and updated. I love the overall décor — you would never guess based from the exterior. The energy inside is down to earth and not at all pretentious (like most of the other salons you typically visit).
The staff is very professional and friendly. It was super easy to make an appointment with the front desk. I met with Melody (the stylist) for the first time when I visited and she couldn’t have been more kind and talented. I loved how thorough she was from the get go, and I appreciated how she explained what she was doing with my hair as we progressed through the appointment.
if you are looking for a new do I would highly recommend making an appointment here! The price is very reasonable and they carry a line of products that are not only high quality but also sustainable. This is my new salon in Toluca Lake and I am thrilled to have found it!

I have been going to Cole Michaels since it changed over from Blue Velvet Salon. It is fantastic. I have had a couple of stylists, but lately have been going to Melody who is so talented with the hair. I’ve been inching my style up and up and she knows exactly how to cut to flatter. My hair is very thick and can end up looking like a frizzy mop after washing out the product and blowdry. With Melody’s cut, it’s layered and shaped so that it looks great weeks and weeks and weeks after. She was super thorough, took plenty of time, and really talked through what I was thinking to make sure I was comfortable with the length and the look. The vibe in there is very friendly and relaxed. No attitude, no affectation, no feeling bad about my old tee-​shirt and jeans. Highly recommend!

Finding someone you can trust to go «down under»… Isn’t an easy feat! I’ve had my share of nightmare experiences that left me pained and traumatized!
I’ve scoured reviews and searched high and low for a salon that was clean, well managed, and reasonably priced – and found Cole Michael Salon!
I was also particular about finding an Esthetician that was experienced, effervescent, and efficient… and found Gwen Parker!
Don’t let her blue (or purple) hair and colorful tattoos deceive you! She is definitely a bada$$, but always gentle and precise. And she knows just how to distract you when (rip) it’s…gonna happen.
There’s no such thing as a painless Brazilian… and if it’s your first time it’s gonna HURT. Try taking an Advil 30minutes before your appointment and try not to schedule it the few days before and after your period.
Luckily for me, she was right down the street from me and I happily visited her every 5 – 6 weeks for about a year before I, unfortunately, had to move an hour east for work.
Now, I still make the drive when I can to see my favorite gal. It’s hard to open up to strangers! (Pun intended) Trust me. Your lady bits will thank me for this recommendation!
I know that Gwen also does facials, but I’ve yet to have the time to try it out. Ask her about it! She never tries to sell you on anything that you don’t need… Love that about her

I found out richelle is no longer a part of this salon so I won’t be back. Still a clean shop but I am happy with her highlighting.

Richelle is amazing! I have never been happier with blonde highlights! I have been to Richelle about 4 times now. My highlights never turn brassy like they did at another salon. She does really fine highlights no lowlights and I love them. They look natural. You just need to show her a picture of how dimensional you want the color to be and she will talk you through your hair texture and color type and what the result will be.

Loving the new Cole Michaels Salon. I’ve followed Gwen for waxing at multiple locations. This is the first time I’ve liked the salon as much as Gwen’s work directly.
I have weirdly sensitive skin and don’t like to shop around for things that might cause problems. Gwen is amazing for wax services and facials! Her glycolic acid peel leaves my skin smoother and softer, and I won’t see anyone else for waxing. She’s that good!
Also, try contacting her directly if she has a Groupon up. She’ll honor the price if you deal directly with her, outside the limitations of the coupon ;)
